Regular, for several reasons. As much as I love that throne, I just don't have the space for it and the large box. I don't want to be hit with a large customs charge - larger/heavier boxes often lead to this. Finally, I find that the Emperor looks better on his feet, whether he's walking with his cane, standing pointing, or shooting lightning... he looks so damn cool.

5:25 - That's definitely true, but it's based off their hair from Jedi. There's that behind the scenes footage where Ian (maybe a stunt double) is being hoisted up by cables for when Vader "picks them up", and you can see their hood fall down and their hair flapping around. Then I think they went with David actually just lifting them up though.

With more and more pictures and better videos coming out, I'm glad I ordered this guy to replace the SS version. Had no need to get the chair, as I'd never display them sitting in it. Ha, I sent out a request on the Freaks forum for a pic of them holding the cane and using Force lightning in the other hand. No one's tried out the 'best of both worlds' look. I'm just curious to see if it'll look good.
IMO one of Hot Toys best headsculpt this year. You will absolutely love this figure! This is a must have for any star wars collector. I'm going to try that look where he is holding the cane and force lightning look. I might do a video on it.
I always felt that the Palpatine was more of a flip flop kinda guy. Really surprised he has boots under there. Very cool figure. One of my favorite cinematic villains. Pro review man.

Noooo, lol. Why does everyone keep saying that this is Prequel hair? This is how it looks on the SS figure, and how it looked in the movie. You can see that (behind the scene) video where David Prowse lift him up and his hood falls; so it is ROTJ accurate.

I agree. You have to have him with the deluxe. Also when you get him dont forget to use the other base for him to rest his feet when you have him sitting on his chair. It's to prevent him having his feet dangle. Congrats on Emperor. he is an awesome figure and keep me posted when you get him. Would like to know what you think of him

If they're only going to go with one head sculpt then I'm glad that they went with this one. When I think of Palpatine, I always see his wicked, scheming grin in my minds eye. All too often, Hot Toys go with neutral, often lifeless expressions, so for me, this makes a refreshing change. It turned out beautifully. In an ideal world we would have got 3 for this character: the grin, neutral/pensive, and angry with the lips rolled back for when he tried to cook Luke.
Ok..so almost done with your video and now you have me wishing I pre-ordered the deluxe! I could have fooled around with it, took some photography and then sold it for a profit. Wow, was I retarded lol. Considering I used Sideshow reward points, not sure if I could upgrade to the deluxe and just pay the difference.
Yes you can Mark, sideshow has the best customer service so you can definitely switch your payments for the deluxe. I think this will be a popular figure so I think the deluxe version will sell out pretty fast. Trust me I have done it where I dont pre order the deluxe and went for the regular, then i see people posting their pics with all the deluxe accessories then I feel bad for not going for it. I dont usually recommend people to get the deluxe but definitely go deluxe or go home imo.
Awesome figure! IMO the Emperor looks so much better in ROTJ than he did in ROTS. In ROTJ, he looked gaunt, ill, evil, and like the dark side was rotting away at his body. In ROTS, he looks too fleshy, almost like an amphibian and a caricature of his appearance in episode 6.
I agree. I love the ROTJ version of the emperor. ROTS looked too weird, he looked like he has to much makeup around the forehead and didnt look natural.
Little constructive criticism man, try to vary your words. You literally said packaging 10 times when you were discussing it in like 2min lol. Then degrees, and then head sculpt. Other than that good stuff. I got this version myself, but a pay reduction at work, and not being big into Star Wars with my collecting has me currently trying to return him. It's a shame because he is awesome.

There is 2 versions of this palpatine. 1 with the chair and 1 without
Had to be the deluxe. Want him in the chair with Darth and luke either side. Scene from. ROTJ. Mines ordered and already on its way.
