- With the new Biolizard boss in Shadow Generations, I began to think about what other bosses could potentially be in the game. So in this video, let's predict the bosses that will appear in Shadow Generations!

I think a boss fight against Neo Metal Sonic could be pretty cool. It always seemed so strange we've never gotten to fight him in that form at all, so this could be an opportunity to fix that. Phase one could have him pilot the Egg Emperor while disguised as Eggman, while phase two has him fight using the abilities he copied during Sonic Heroes.
What about Metal Overlord? lol
A Sonic fight HAS to happen since it’s been stated that Sonic Gens and Shadow Gens stories are parallel: meaning that when you do the Shadow Rival Battle, Shadow is fighting Sonic in his story

Mephiles and Metal Sonic should be in game because Modern Metal Sonic didn't have a boss fight in Generations and it makes sense for Mephiles to be there because of 06.

Kinda surprised no one has ever mentioned the possibility of another Eggman boss. Like Shadow catches up to him or something and Eggman gets kinda worried that he'll mess up his whole plan to destroy the Sonics so he fights him in another past mech or something. Maybe that one big Egg Pawn looking guy from Shadow 05, Egg Masher I think it was called.
Whether it’s for the base game or DLC, I hope Shadow gets a “future storyline” thing going on in his game. Like since this game takes place during Sonic Generations, games like Lost World, Forces, and Frontiers haven’t happened yet, but since Generations is a game based on time travel and dimension hopping, it would be cool if Shadow also gets sent to future events and faces off against the Deadly Six, Infinite, and The End. Tbh, at that point the “future storyline” idea would prob be non-canon and instead would just be a fun DLC concept and an excuse to remix levels from those games but besides Forces, Shadow hasn’t appeared in the other two games so we don’t know how much he knows 🤷♂️.
There’s also a few concepts I think would be cool for Shadow Generations to do.
Mother Wisp, from Sonic Colors is a boss fight that was only available in the DS version of the game, and Shadow wasn’t in Colors but it would be awesome to see Shadow get thrown into the events of Colors and since Sonic didn’t get to fight Mother Wisp in the Console version, Shadow would have the honors of doing so. Just imagine playing as Shadow and going around the Interstellar Amusement Park and the planets it’s chained to, sort of like one big mashup stage. Then Black Doom could come in and transition you from planet to planet and change the aesthetics of it like we see in the gameplay. A pretty cool what-if storyline if you ask me, since Shadow wasn’t playable in Colors and we could finally get a chance to see him take on the DS-exclusive Mother Wisp.
Similarly, Shadow could also be thrown into Unleashed and we’d play a mashup of the Day Levels with Black Doom transitioning us between stages and putting his own twist on it. Then we could have a possible battle with Dark Gaia or one of the nighttime bosses.
Lastly, we gotta bring Shadow back into Black Knight, and hell, even Secret Rings. Again, imagine a mashup of all the different levels, but this time we’re hopping between the two games. Shadow would be really confused since he’s been moved not only to another point in time but another dimension essentially. And he could fight either Erazor Djinn, King Arthur, or hell even Sir Lancelot himself. It would be really cool to see him fight villains he’s never fought before, or even an alternate version of himself in Sir Lancelot.
If these ideas get through to SEGA or Sonic Team I would freak out if any of them come through because with Shadow Generations there’s so many cool possibilities they can do and they don’t even have to add it to base game, they could just make DLC out of it and decide to make it canon or not. But also because it serves as a huge source of fan service for a bunch of what-if Shadow scenarios that we never (hopefully will eventually) got to see.

I will love to see a Mephiles boss fight or rival fight but knowing Sonic Team they probably do something else. I think it be cool if they do add Infinite as a boss or rival fight but doubt it because Forces came after generations was released. I know the they could do it because of the whole time travel and Crisis City is in the game. I know it's not gonna happen because they aren't adding more levels for Sonic story so why add something from Forces for only shadow, I think probably as dlc that could be possible.
Honestly, I would LOVE to see a fight with Sonic. I mean, come on, Doom's Eye could easily manipulate Shadow into thinking that Sonic's doing...I dunno, something bad, which could tie into Sonic's story, with Shadow just randomly wanting to fight him for some reason.

We have Biolizard and Black Doom for certain, so we definitely need Mephiles and Infinite. Imagine possibly having Neo Metal Sonic/Metal Overlord too.
PS: The next game Shadow is in after this should introduce Eclipse the Darkling who wants revenge for Black Doom
I need to say this since I've been seeing some quite ( well to say stupid would be much) comments about how Infinite or other future enemies that Shadow fought can be a boss in S X S Gens. That is impossible the timeline that Shadow is in this game is paralel with the one Sonic is in Gens so those games he was in until 2011 would potentionaly give is a boss to play in this game.
I doubt it’ll happen, but what I really want really badly is to have an epic boss battle where Shadow has to remove his inhibitor rings to defeat it and we get to play as him in that state!!! God that would be SO effin COOOOOL!!! 😭🙏 I can’t believe we’re getting another Shadow game in 2024! And it looks SO GOOD so far!!! We eatin’ good, fellow Sonic fanatics! We eatin’ good! 😎🦔

Mephiles HAS to be a major boss, if not THE final boss. He is essentially the closest thing Shadow has to an "ultimate adversary"
Mephiles is to Shadow, what Eggman is to Sonic. They both just mesh so well as foils to each other.
If black doom decides to bring back mephiles the dark then i think mephiles will be the main villain in the next 3D sonic game. Because Mephiles is literally the God of time, he can easily escape Black doom's and the time eater control. Sega is a company that almost always listened to the fans' opinions. Sega knows fans want mephiles back they are just waiting for the perfect time and this is the perfect time
Here's a fun idea.
Since it takes place at the same time as Sonic's story. Given that Sonic kinda needs the Chaos Emeralds... You gotta wonder if Shadow might get a special super form for the Devil Doom fight, one involving his mutation ability, shown by his wings. A Venom Shadow if you will.

In my theory, Biolizard, Mephiles, and Black Doom would make the most sense. And Rival Fights Sonic & Silver. But Black Doom is definetly the main villain of the Shadow generations story.
They added kingdom valley, Mephiles has to be a boss! Makes too much sense. However, knowing Sega, they could drop the ball on this opportunity

Crisis City and Stardust Speedway are LITERALLY stages that take place in the future, so Time Eater could also pull Infinite from a future game.
And don't tell me it wouldn't make sense because Shadow wouldn't know who Infinite is by that point in time, because Silver's fight with Sonic wasn't even in Crisis City, so anything is possible in Generations.
But Sonic remembered silver from Rivals
And Infinite doesn't really have anything to do with Shadow's character. He just kinda shows up. Every other boss had meaning in Shadow's backstory

This was so so so goooood!! The possibilities are so exciting but will SEGA dickslap us yet again?? Generations is one of my top 5 best Sonic games of all time, so even getting to play it again is hype plus the shadow content is BONKERSSSS! So yes please what if we get two stages from each game what could the other shadow stages be? Maybe those would also correlate to one boss per game? Or maybe a sort of mini boss that thematically connects or is a lesser version of the actual boss for that game?? Keep it up chuck this rocks. Wish you were at SEGA telling them this shit yourself?

I remember reading about a theory that the Time Eater is a fragment of Mephiles or Solaris that survived the erasure of the events in 06. What if in Shadow Generations, that theory is proven true and the Time Eater reveals itself as Mephiles. It would be a cool twist. The Time Eater and Mephiles do have some similarities such as the ability to time travel, and both are composed of a crystal-like substance surrounded by a purple aura. Plus, we do see that Shadow and the Time Eater interact in the latest trailer so it could be possible.
I have a feeling we'll unfortunately instead just get the revelation that the Time Eater was a past creation of Black Doom's, predating the creation of Shadow, given Shadow is his "latest creation", and the story blurb emphasising Black Doom while the trailer confirms Time Eater has SOME involvement in the story.
My prediction is for the entire campaign is:

Yes Sonic could be a boss but I would say no because there are signs that Sonic and Shadow were already fighting before because I found evidence of that Sonic and Shadow use too much energy the screen turn white and Shadow wakes up and see Black Doom So I think Sonic would not be a boss battle I hope Silver will be a Boss I like that scene where Shadow kick Silver in the head
A mephiles boss fight will be amazing, they also have a chance to reference his first Cutscene where he was freed, since shadow wouldnt remember who he was, he can still start the scene with a "who are you?" and mephiles says "i am mephiles the dark, what you dont remember me?", i think that reference would fit perfectly!

Infinite very very very most likely won't be a boss as Forces didn't happen yet. Generations takes stuff from the past not the future
They're pulling from time and space its non-linear present past and future dose not matter. sonic generations is a time travel story not one of memories, black doom or the time eater can easily just pull infinite from his timeline. A good way to Retcon his death if you're asking me. @chrange9714

Infinite would be really interesting. His entire backstory and motivation in Forces stem from his defeat by Shadow after all, so who would have more beef with him than Infinite?
Without the Phantom Ruby he wouldn't be that challenging, but who knows when he will be plugged out of time? Either way it could finally give us a Infinite fight that doesn't suck.

Infinite would probably not be a boss for Shadow Generations. Besides, Sonic Generations took place before Forces and took things from the past, not the future.

Well in my opinion i'd say that's because the Sonic boss fight is already going to happen so people are focusing more on other enemies that Shadow may fight 😅

The Time Eater seems to be the one sending Shadow through his past, and even ripping Kingdom Valley (and Crisis City) from a non-existent timeline, and bringing Mephiles back from Non-existence too.
Time Eater and Mephiles are both beings that can mess with Time, so what if Mephiles could tell that something is wrong with Time and he tries to get back into the main timeline. Let’s say Mephiles succeeds too, that could be a cool way to have him back. And he wouldn’t be able to become Solaris again cuz Iblis doesn’t exist anymore. They’d have to heavily nerf his time travel abilities tho, or just remove them entirely.
I hope they just take the fan theory that the time Eater is an uncontroled chaotic rediment of Mephiles on the current timeline.
Honestly, I prefer Mephiles over Black Doom as an overall antagonist to Shadow.

2:52 Better yet, imagine a fight against a bunch of Shadow Androids, in a vain similar to Shadow The Hedgehog's Competition Mode.
Having multiple androids would provide more impact than Shadow just seeing one sole android.

I think, what could happen is this:
In Sonic Generations of 3ds, there weren't always 3 zones before the bosses, so in Shadow Generations, there will be two zones (The ark and Radical Highway from Sonic Adventure 2 and Rail Canyon from Sonic Heroes), then the biolizard boss fight, and after that, a Shadow the Hedgehog level ( I always thought that westoplis was confirmed, but who knows) and Kingdom Valley from Sonic 06. The boss afterwards would be Mephiles and the final boss would be Devil Doom. What are your thoughts about this?

On the topic of Mephiles, here's a thought that crossed my mind: what if Black Doom and Mephiles are working together? Ian Flynn, during his time on the Archie comics, wanted Black Doom to come back thanks to Mephiles during the "Shadow Fall" saga but Sega shot it down. Now that Ian's writing for the games, what if he managed to talk Sega into letting that story happen here and now?

@@BrunoMencacci I found this out on the wiki. Ian wanted Black Doom to be resurrected by Mephiles during "Shadow Fall", but Sega kept them both off limits, so it didn't happen. So they were replaced with Black Death and Eclipse the Darkling instead.
That would have been sick! Sucks that Sega shot it down.
@@LynxWindWell even if that happens i'm sure they are separate bosses cause the whole point of the shadow generations story is to have the bosses that he fought in the levels or zones of where they are located in order to move on after the zone level stages almost like how sonic did in the main story
Hear me out! If they fix the bugs and make the game playable I would love to see a remaster of Sonic 06. Maybe they could get the person working on the Project 06 fan game to rework it for modern platforms. Sega has worked with fans on games before like with Sonic Mania and Sonic Origins.
Neo Metal Would be dope even if he didn’t fight but fighting a shadow android would be dope also:
Fun fact, Shadow never actually got to fight Infinite in an actual boss fight either, only in mods and cutscenes.
And thanks to Silver's boss fight being in Crisis City, anything can be possible in Generations.

Due to the fact that the story takes place during sonics story shadow wouldn’t have access to the chaos emeralds because sonic has them all in his story. So that wing transformation is most likely a replacement transformation for super shadow and because of the fact that generations takes place before forces. It’s most likely the case that it will be a one off transformation that shadow will no longer be able to use after the events of the story which would keep the timeline consistent. Either that or he just simply refuses to use it after this story until they have him use it in the next mainline game.😂
I think that while a Shadow Android would be cool as a boss, im thinking that the Egg Emperor could also make an appearance as the Heroes boss since it made its been tackled in the 3DS version of generations too like the Biolizard. Plus, Shadow has fought it before with Team Dark. Only issue is if Eggman would actually be in there depending on the story here
Sonic X Shadow Generations is a game that I am super HYPE for! A boss fight that I really want them to add is Mephiles because they did show Kingdom Valley that could lead up to a Mephiles boss fight in the game. Let’s hope SEGA gives us him us a boss.

I prefer Black Doom over Mephiles as the main antagonist to Shadow.
On the one hand, I'd rather a Mephiles appearance hold a stronger narrative focus as the main villain of a Shadow story than just being an obstacle on the way to a different villain.
But on the other hand, it does work with the narrative of going through Shadow's past:-
-Biolizard: A look at where he came from; a cure or a weapon?
-Android Shadow: Is he the real one? Also lots of interesting boss mechanics if its kept in a bullet station/rail canyon setting - with them racing on rails, maybe even needing to use chaos control to stop trains or use trains as part of combat etc.
-Mephiles: Doubting his purpose; mankind could turn against him again in the future, what then? Sort of thing. Boss fight wise I could see crystal Mephiles sprouting crystalized solaris wings to reflect Shadow's veno-er, black arms wings
Would be cool if Black Doom & timeater's activity ends up opening the way for Mephiles to return to the main timeline for a future narrative.
On the point of Sonic, I reckon it will be the same setting, but we'll get more context for why they're fighting. Makes sense from a Dev point to reuse the assets anyway; and we'll play from Shadow's perspective, so Sonic can get his special attack we have to avoid, and we get a new one to win as Shadow - maybe with a cool QTE finisher?
It makes the overall victor more ambiguous like in SA2; but keeps fans from fighting lol

Shadow could maybe fight Omega for a Heroes boss battle. Omega was supposed to be strong enough to guard Shadow's capsule, and defeats him in Sonic '06's future timeline.
We may get rival battles, like the game comes full circle and we have a rival battle against Sonic. Silver could be a rival and maybe Metal or the Android Shadow u mentioned

I'd imagine it being like ULTRAKILL's 1-4 or 4-4, but i wouldnt want another "wait if thats me then who am i" moment. Just want shadow to beat up another shadow no remorse
If mephelis is a boss, I hope there's a mechanic or a quick time event that involves shadow removing his inhibiter rings, with the fight like I always have line thrown in. Maximum fanservice please sega!!!
Honestly it would be amazing that if Sonic's Fight with shadow doesnt take place on the Ark but in green forest since Hedgehog Engine 2 is not made for high speed battles it would make sense that Shadow would fight Sonic in Green Forest.

Maybe sonic could be a rival battle because if it takes place at the same time as sonic generations than shadow has got to face sonic in final rush/chase at some point

@Senkoki I don't know I could be wrong but we don't know if they game is taking place during the same time as Sonic Generations or not. Also, let's be honest Shadow the hedgehog boss list is already not that big. And I don't think they want to use metal sonic because he is already in the original sonic Generations

I had more I was going to post on your recent community post, but here's what i was going to say;
I don't necessarily care what's realistic in terms of what I think the developers will actually do, but here's some neat ideas I had.
They set up for a cool character Dynamic at the end of Heroes where Shadow and Omega pick up the body of Metal Sonic so that idea of being a fake or a copy would have been something really neat to explore with them.
I think just redoing the Rival fight with Sonic would be kind of boring, I suppose they could do the first fight in green forest, but I'd like to see Sonic and the Black knight, but this time it's swapped so you play a shadow maybe even without the armor but Sonic is swapped so he does have armor this time.

I honestly think there’s a lot they aren’t letting on with this. We’ve had no mention of G.U.N. yet, and they’re an essential part of Shadow’s origins. We’ve seen no concrete evidence of a Shadow ‘05 stage, which I find to be extremely weird. Every stage needs to be important to Shadow’s past. Honestly, I think it makes the most sense to have 2 stages from each game. We already have the Space Colony Ark from SA2, technically Radical Highway too, but that’s includes included in the SCA stage. I think White Jungle would work well as another stage because then you get the Sonic rival fight there. We’ve already got the Biolizard and Bullet Station. Considering Bullet Station is one of two stages in Heroes that are important to the Shadow clone plot, I’d imagine we’ll get the other, Egg Fleet, and we could get the Egg Emperor as the boss fight for it. With Shadow ‘05, I’d imagine that the two stages could be any pairing of Westopolis, G.U.N. Fortress and Black Comet, hell, we could get all 3, like how we technically get 3 from Sonic Adventure 2, with Diablon as a boss fight, as there’s no solid representation from G.U.N. yet. I’d probably place the Devil Doom Super Shadow fight after Diablon and have the Sonic ‘06 stages as an epilogue to the Shadow campaign, which we already know Kingdom Valley is a part of. It would also make sense for White Acropolis to be a part of it too as it’s where the Scepter of Darkness appears. You could also get either Wave Ocean or Dusty Desert too. I’d imagine none of the Sonic Stages will overlap, so we wouldn’t get Crisis City even if it’s somewhat important to Shadow’s story. Mephiles does make far too much sense to be the boss fight. I’m assuming that in actuality, it’ll probably be far less than I’ve listed that we actually get, but it would make a lot of sense to explore as much of Shadow’s story as possible.
