I watched the Original when this came out. Eric Draven was a life loving, kind man that came back to seek justice. This looks like an Emo dude coming back seeking more violence.
Me too I watched the original last night. It's far better ( which is always the case) plus the foreshadowing of Brandon Lee's death still lingers around the movie all these years later which makes it more spooky and emotional.
He and Shelly pretty much adopted Sarah atleast what everything pointed to in the first. If not they were definitely her only escape. You could feel the sadness in her voice having lost them. Hollywood critics wanted them to make the female love interest the Crow instead .. so expect it to happen soon, maybe as a Netflix show or some other trash show by Amazon.
Back in the late 90s, there was some sort of story (Maybe a comic, maybe a short story, I forget) in which there was a female Crow who was avenging her own death and that of her unborn child she was pregnant with when she was murdered.
@@Adamguy2003 You're referring to the 3-issue comics series: The Crow: Flesh and Blood where Iris Shaw was pregnant when she was killed, then she returned as the Crow. A similar idea was shown in the TV series: The Crow: Stairway to Heaven.
The original crow looks like a goth lord that could take on a group of trained killers and come out on top , the remake one looks like a street punk that out drunk everyone at a frat party , passed out so they doodled his face
Easily the biggest sin this movie commits, though there are a LOT of them is how with the exception of a few scenes, it totally butchers the atmosphere of the original It is the DEFINITION of a cashgrab that understands the original on only the most superficial level
I had a bad feeling about this movie. Not happy I was right. But the trailer set off the alarm. Not wasting any time on this. Thanks for your service Thorias😎
One of the things that makes The Crow so timeless is the story about Erik and Shelly. Both were just regular people. They started at the bottom rung of society, no one thought much of them, they were working they way up, only had each other, and were JUST starting to build their way to a better life together. And the movie established all of this with almost no screen time. It was all show, don't tell. We learn that Erik was the lead of a small time up and coming band, Shelly was looking forward to being a housewife and then it was just all ripped away from them. No warning, nothing they could do, just a random act of violence by a bunch of random thugs. That story, that visceral fear of the every man and woman losing it all for no reason is something that speaks to all of us and the shear visceral rage and grief Erik feels afterwards is something we can all relate to. None of that is in this story. Spoilers ahead: In this remake both Erik and Shelly are in a institution for troubled teens (bullshit their almost thirty) and Shelly not only worked for a crime boss but is also sitting on evidence that can bury him so the Al Capone wannabe send a hitman to bump her off and Erik gets caught in the crossfire because he can't stop thinking with his dick. The problem with this whole setup, besides the fact that it ruins the original story and is no longer something that everyone can relate to, is that it at no point explains why Erik and Shelly don't just run to the cops and seek WitSec instead of trying to run off and head from a mob boss on their own. And that is BEFORE you get into the stupidity of the supernatural elements and the demon deals!
Your summary of the Original good... But you left out Sarah and I think they did well there too. The Original gave so much with so little and I think everyone sold it pretty well. It seemed like they had basically adopted Sarah.
@@nickkoyle3599 Good point. The "Mother is the name of god" line still gives me chills. Not only did Sarah do a really great job driving home the human aspect of Erik, but she also was the one bit of hope to the story. Hope that even the most worthless of people can turn it around for the ones who need them, that love CAN make the difference. I can't help how much of Erik's return was fueled by his need for revenge and how much was his need to protect Sarah. She was the first thing he went looking for. The movie really was a masterclass in "show don't tell".
This should be considered Worse because unlike Madame Web, there was a sizable amount of fans that were looking FORWARD to this movie. Sigh. Really glad I got the Good OG on Physical. Sweet Treasure of Physical Media!
Yea I separate movies with Hope to movies with next to no hope. Are all bad movies actually bad if most never had hope of being good? Captain Marvel I consider bad because there's 0 reason it shouldn't have been atleast good.
The fact that they went ahead with whatever crap they did in the film (not seen this and won't), after James O Barr expressed his annoyance with the changes to the point James has openly called it an abomination by all accounts, is the biggest disrespectful aspect of this. Take the 1994 film out of the equation and it's still disrespectful to the source material. For years I've said to myself "if James gives it his approval, I'll watch a retelling, if he slams it I won't". The fact this story was inspired and partly about his own real life grief and the new writers and crew has done all these changes to his story just pisses me off to no end.
i was neutral so no expectations no hype and not worried to se garbage neither, so put it short i was bored out of my mind, i felt so sleepy, only thing that kept me going was that i wanted to know how it ended so glad i watched it on free streaming platform, worst movie sins beginning of 2023
The original Crow movie was a one-of-a-kind thing, it should never had any sequels or remakes, just like the comic it's based on, both based on real life tragedy in a way .. but these fake ass remakes and sequels need to go rot in a ditch in a desert next to ET cartridges.
I haven't watched a new movie since 2018. Hollywood has destroyed most franchises and hasn't produced anything good in a long time. I stick to the classics.
That would be true for me too, if not for reviewers like Thorius. People claim that UA-cam reviewers only push negativity, but I’ve seen Godzilla Minus One and a handful of others. Compared to the old days though? I used to go to theaters all the time
It's the main reason why I keep expanding my DVD and Blu-ray collection and constantly digitalize the movies. Who knows how long they'll be available in their original form if this lunacy continues....
Same here. I think I watched Doctor Strange 1 and I thought it was fine but I haven't watched a new movie since. I was never big into movies to start with. I can enjoy bad novels, I can enjoy bad video games, but a bad movie just makes me feel miserable. If my imagination is better than your film, that's pretty sad imo.
The Crow 2024 is Hot Garbage worse than Madame Web and Borderlands and a stain on the ip. The Shelly actress is dreadful and i can say with confidence that The Crow City of Angels and The Crow Salvation are Masterpieces in comparison to this crap. Hell even The Crow with Edward Furlong might be better 😂😂😂
Wiked Prayer COULD have been a lot better. Watch that one just for Edward, personally. Still a fan of his. @ least you can see the potential when you're watching, & can pay attention to it. Actually, I may just go watch all of the sequels now. Never need to watch this one. Knew that the second i heard it was being made though...
This is the best shitting on 2024 Crow I have watched on YT so far. None of that "I gave it the benefit of the doubt" and "it has some redeeming...." kinda shit, just a full-blown rant of pure honesty about what a clusterfuck it is. I love this review!
If I knew about it I would have had questions... There's no Sarah. Shelly was dying and she cared about making sure she was looked out for. She had just went through he'll and her only concern was her.
Well look at the cast... The basically wannabe adopted daughter isn't even in it. The Crow made a little work a ton for it. Shelly's dying and her concern was Sarah. Eric and Shelly were her escape her safety it showed who they were very easy while not sacricing any time. That movie used everything it had very well if you pay attention.
The Crow was the right movie, at the right time, with the right cast, made by the right people, for the right people. And you're not going to ever beat the fact that the star died making it. This is one of those things that should never have been touched. Especially in this day and age where they cannot create they can only destroy.
I talked with my coworker about this, and his passion towards the original shining through his distain towards the very existence of this one made me realize that this is an insult. If it was just another crappy numbered title in the film series, it would just be another City of Angels or Wicked Prayer (yes I liked Salvation, no it’s nothing compared to the original despite my enjoyment). Instead it’s a remake in an era where both killing female characters to motivate men is hated, but depicting men being shattered by losing a woman is hated by the opposite extreme. And yes the loss of Brandon Lee and the dedication to him is the most egregious part, I just don’t think I can articulate that well enough past this. Nor do I want to use his name to bash an already bad film.
The opposite side does not have a problem with men being devastated by the loss of their loved female. It's still the feminist who hate that. They consider that toxic masculinity. Conservatives understand men love their wives and their girlfriends and will want revenge if something is done to them. Stop trying to paint both sides with an evil brush when both sides aren't evil. Just proving you're pathetic.
We didn't need a bunch of straight to dvd sequels and we certainly didn't need a reboot, you can't improve on perfection and with efforts like this you have to wonder if they really have the IP's best interests at heart?
A Thorias review is always spot on. Good work as always. I loved the original. Perfectly cast. And Brandon Lee in a great role. And sadly taken away from us way too early.
This film felt like one of those Hellraiser films were they took a pre existing script and threw some references in, just so they could keep the rights.
I'd like to know your thoughts of the original Crow. It's not the flashiest action movie, but every character is enjoyable to watch. Brandon deserved an award for his performance. I literally can't think of a single scene that doesn't draw you into the story. Anyway, would like to hear your take on the classic film.
I'm pretty sure the FANS of the original crow didn't give alex proyas shit for criticizing this remake. Those certain people were the hollywood industry! Everyone who loved brandon lee, Never asked for a remake!
It really is a mess. Literally NOTHING worked in the entire film. Flat, lifeless. Nominee for "Worst script ever". Side note: I've watched a few of these reviews. I'd says yours is easily the most accurate.
Thank you for taking that hit for me, dude. I saw the first trailer for this movie and that is all of this cluster-f**k that I could stomach. On Friday, in honor of the “reimagining’s” opening, I raised a glass to Brandon Lee and watched The Crow ’94.
Remember, the director is Rupert Sanders. This is the guy who destroyed his marriage for Kristen Stewart. He almost destroyed Ghost in the Shell. I Said it before; Jason Momoa definitely dodged that bullet.
@@SasamiTM I don't know what you mean by that. The original Ghost In The Shell and the films are masterpiece. The 2017 one with Scarlett Johansson is visually stunning but flawed in every other department, and the Netflix SAC 2045 reboot is mediocre with subpar animation

8:35 I'd highly recommend rewatching the original. I'm cynical and jaded beyond capacity, and I don't believe in things like love or human connection. But every few years, I go back to rewatch it. And every time I do, I come away with something different/new I hadn't thought of or noticed before. I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say it's a "classic," but it's one of those films where you can see the visions of numerous people coming together under rough conditions (besides the passing of Mr. Lee). And films that like that don't really exist anymore... 🤔
I was thinking that I'd like to see Thorias on Friday Night Tights for an episode, but I think he would probably collapse by angry exhaustion before the show is over. 🙂
I HATE this movie. It is so bad I would rather watch Matrix Resurrection Reboot and Madame Web...in slow motion. Because at least it is mildly entertaining than this godawful soulless cash grab that literally shames the original on so many levels.
Great. So pretty much them putting him in this limbo world basically sucked donkey and that was the one thing I was hoping they could fix from the original wow and they screwed that up
Whoever directed this movie had no clue about the source material. He was probably thinking about it in a less stylistic and more grounded kind of way like Batman Begins not knowing that is the essence of the story. It's a a dark and violent fantasy world where a character like this can be believable and exist. It should be like a picture book that comes to life. He is more wraith than human. The original comic was a satisfying read even moreso than the original movie. I think in the style of something like Spawn the Animated Series would be the best way to tell the story. If they want to make a movie, it needs that hyper stylization of the world to work or the character will just look like Leto Joker walking around.
P.S. The Crow is an artist's story made from tragedy that became a film that ended in tragedy; that then was transformed into an early 90s Zeitgeist/Eulogy and a Monument to Brandon Lee and by extension Bruce Lee. You CAN NOT replicate that. They'vee tried many times before and every time they have failed; and they will continue to fail.
Yes 🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻 what did a actor say he said the movie The Crow 🐦⬛ was basically life imitating art Brandon Lee died just the same way Eric did just getting his big break in the movies was getting married soon and than it was all gone in the blink of an eye so tragic 😢
This feels like one of those placeholder movies that are made simply to hold onto the rights to the property, kinda like Roger Corman's Fantastic Four.
When i saw the images i totally thought that they where making another Joker movie. Yeah, he was shirtless and all but would not be the first time that they try to make a psycho villain sexy for some reason on a movie or tv show. 😂😂😂
Too long establishing Shelly and Eric. I didn't like them much a characters or people. They go back to the same city, and go to a fuckin' night club when they know someone with lots of money and power is trying to kill them. Their deaths are underwhelming and not very brutal at all. Eric doesn't seem as angry or upset and laser focused on vengeance until the end. Some hard smash cuts. Fighting choreography is just ok. No memorable / quotable lines or music. 2 villains stood out - Girl and Old Man. Final confrontation with Big Bad is lack luster. The arrangement of saving their souls .. and bringing the Evil Guy to the dead world limbo.. somehow, and if it was all just a dream with non-crow Eric there at the end and the paramedic, considering that Shelly would have been dead for a long time if the second half of the movie was real.
As someone who watched the Original Crow multiple times MAN does this movie blow. The music is borderline lifeless as opposed to the haunting tunes or hard rock music of the original, the villains are flat and boring compared to T-Bird and his Party Pals along with Top Dollar, the romance falls flat on it's face with Shelly looking like she's stoned pretty much all the time and unlike Brandon Lee's badass Crow who legit could kick everyone's asses witth casual ease making him even scarier, Bill's Crow is a borderline wuss who constantly gets overrpowered by randos every time he does fight. Even the worst Crow Sequel, Wicked Prayer, is better than this crap.
First thing that jumps out to me as wrong vs the Original Crow was how much daylight is in the new version. I watched the Crow when it first came out and now this. The Crow is basically a goth vengeance story. It should be dark and dreary and bleak. This new version was way too bright in many ways.
The main problem with the movie is that there is potential to something great, but the movie failed to explore interesting concepts that are brought up and Eric and Shelly doesn't work. I would've been okay with them having met in a rehab if they had gotten over the addiction and focused on making each other properly heal. But no, they keep using it while they're together and are living in some shit hole until they both are killed. But at least the opera house sequence was awesome
I already knew it was going to be a piece of garbage. That's why I wanted to see it. Same thing applies.Don't screw with a film. That is literally the staple of the series. When you do that you might as well just bend over with some double a batteries
When this remake was first announced, I was pissed because 1994's The Crow is one of my favorite movies of all time and I knew they were going to f*** it up. Then the trailer dropped and I was proven right. So glad I didn't go to see it.
Thank you very much for this new film review, Thorias. so I think I will stick with the 1994 original. the 1998 tv series. the 2000 third film & the Deadtime comic. then. :)
Remember when Brandon Lee's Eric Draven felt almost like a force of nature? There was only one big shoot out scene, but for the most of the movie, Eric takes his revenge like a vengeful spirit. Like something supernatural. This is just... Deadpool without humor and style.
I feel like this and Madam Web are equally bad and both should have gone streaming directly 😂 though Web had a higher budget which makes that look even worse imo but I digress. I feel like Beverly Hills Cop 4 should have went to theaters and crap like Madame Web and The Crow remake straight to streaming or better yet DVD 📀 Nice review!
I spent money to watch the 2024 one in theaters by myself because no one else wanted to go. I knew it would be awful, I knew it wouldn’t even be able to be anywhere near the original but I HAD to watch it just to prove to myself I was right. And… I did. They BASTARDIZED the love story between Eric Draven & Shelly! And they lost more money than they can recover to try to justify what they did. Hollywood needs to take notes: stay the fuck away from our classic films! They’re trying to remake “Labyrinth”, too. I hope it fails. I’m extremely biased because I forced myself to learn how to read in order to understand the graphic novel my brother brought home which was “The Crow” by James O’Barr. I was obsessed with as a child & still am to this day. After the 1994 film came out, I couldn’t stop watching it even though there were elements from the graphic novel that were left out. The 2024 film, I only needed to see once & that’s coming from someone who LOVES Bill Skarsgårds, FKA Twigs & Danny Hudson. Also, when your main character isn’t as interesting as your villain, there’s a huge problem with the way the story is written & I really wish they hadn’t made the film.
Is that water seen in the movie worse than in the commercial? Where they're reaching for each other underwater or something? It looked terrible. I'm wondering if it was meant to be that way.
Some of the best scenes in the original are eric reconcting with his friend, him saving sarah and tells her it can't rain all the time, him clearing her mother's morphin addiction to give her a second chance to be a good mother to her daughter, in this movie there's none of that, he is the crow for like 25 minutes
First, was this a movie we really needed remade? Especially after the original star was killed on set during its filming??? Secondly, whose idea was it to cast Pennywise as the Crow?🤦🏻♂️
As someone who grew up on the beloved OG Crow 🖤🖤I was floored they were making a reboot of it ;; NOT surprised at all it’s garbage! Shame because Bill is a damn good actor idk why he thought this was a good idea 😂😂
I am a huge fan of both the OG comic and movie, and to this day, I am so surprised by hiw the sequels and other .efia is so heartless and misses the point: True and pure love destroyed, despicable people without a sense of redemption, and brutal, swift justice. The Crow is vengeance porn, but vengeance porn done right. Soulless grabs like this just dilute the waters.
The Crow (1994) is one of my favourite films ever, one I've always wanted to see in cinemas. I was able to this year for the 30th Anniversary and made for one of my best movie going experiences ever. Hard pass on The Crow (2024).
The little things, used to mean so much to crow fans, I used to think it was kind of trivial. Believe me. Nothing is trivial! The desecration and grave robbing of beloved I.P's Needs to end. i dedicate this devils night to the avenging of any and all artistry and imagination who have been raped by the reimagination concept.
The Original Crow brought in nearly a hundred million off a twenty three million dollar budget, not to mention kicking off a franchise. RIP Brandon. How hard would it have been to bring massive returns with double the budget? It wouldn't have needed tons of CGI. They could have focused on stupid stuff, like Cinematography Music Fight Choreography............oh, AND WRITERS!!!!! Could someone please tell me why the Master Plan is to DESTROY EVERY IP THEY CAN GET THEIR HANDS ON? They're not putting out anything new. Every "reboot" or "re-visioning" seems hell bent on making sure everyone forgets what made the original great.
My review on letterboxd I did I want to state I am a huge fan of the crow Graphic novels & the 1994 film The Crow with Brandon Lee ( who was the perfect reputation of the Crow from the written work which even the writer said himself) & to see Brandon Lee's Legacy being sh*t on like this makes me beyond angry. Watching this film has been one shit show after another & in the first 22 minutes of this show I saw 7 meme-worthy moments. the connection between Bill Skarsgård & FKA Twigs was a pitiful display of a relationship forming with no connection & no chemistry or anything in site, also in my eyes FKA Twigs cannot act for sh*t as well as others in this film showed very poorly acting skills. Bill Skarsgard is not the right actor for this kind of film at all - I know it is not his fault for the acting he portrayed in this movie because it is always the director's fault for the direction style they are asked to take but Bill is more suited towards horror and thriller than action movies in my opinion. the love story that we see over 45 minutes plus feels so forced and has no substance at all, whereas in the 1994 original movie, we saw less than 5 minutes in flashbacks on the love Eric & Shelley had and was consumed by the love radiating off the screen... I have seen many films with relationships over the last 30 decades but rarely find a relationship seen as bad as displayed in the 2024 Crow. The place where the character goes when killed - Bill goes to the void, the in-between ( I am not calling him Eric I won't do it).... it looks good but the whole interaction with the guy in this place is terrible, your suppose to root for dystopian looking world and a rejected looking Mexican (it's the way the director made him look which makes him seen this way and it pissed me off ) and the bullsh*t of coming back again and again with a bullsh*t pep talk until he says I will give my soul for hers ( where in the past films it is implicated a soul for a soul - when you look into anything to do with magic or voodoo or anything like that you see that a soul for a soul is always what the other pays... & the cut of the hands was used wrongly in this film so badly (As a wicca/ high prestress myself I know this and it infuriated me). the then instant coming back (WTF NO NO) ... Bill Skarsgard looks more like an Emo Chav F**k boy than a guy looking for vengeance and a tattoo away from becoming the terrible version of the Joker out of the suicide squad film ( are we sure they aren't brothers - because that would explain the poor looking boy face and the whole I lost my puppy act ) & the underline of being upset over losing a horse A F**KING HORSE... but its ok he lost a horse gained a hoe and lost her too. nothing you say WILL EVER EVER EVER EVER make me see this as a good film nor love story... the story was lazily written, and the relationship is pitiful and disgraceful to the original or any love film or scene ever done.... this is the best they could come up with after 30 years of toying with this WTF HOLLYWOOD and you wonder why no one respects u anymore (Hollywood go smack ur inner moppet or whatever you're a disgrace)... I have not been this pissed off with a movie since Chip & dale rescue rangers & Winnie the pooh blood and Honey movies... Also what's with the songs in this film none of them go with the movie at all & I became enraged when they had in this film Enya Boadicea how f**king dare they.... this film was badly edited and stitched together and nothing made sense from scene to scene. I could say more but I think if I continue I will run out of space so I am leaving it here terrible movie from all angles and I would rather watch the whole franchise of Twilight naked and pinned to a chair while being tortured than ever watch this again & I hate it with a passion Twilight

The orginal The Crow turned 30 this year, this new movie is a horrible way to celebrate 30 years since the original.
Spoilers ahead:
In this remake both Erik and Shelly are in a institution for troubled teens (bullshit their almost thirty) and Shelly not only worked for a crime boss but is also sitting on evidence that can bury him so the Al Capone wannabe send a hitman to bump her off and Erik gets caught in the crossfire because he can't stop thinking with his dick.
You nailed it. Excellent points!
Well said!!
He was in the Rain Forest researching Crows right before he died..
I laughed at this comment harder than I should have 😂
There are no crows in the rainforest. They’re practically everywhere in the US. Especially in the farm states.
@@Drixenol86it's a line from Madame web, just replace crow with spiders
@@Drixenol86Then how'd he die researching crows in the Amazon when he died researching crows in the Amazon?
This should be considered Worse because unlike Madame Web, there was a sizable amount of fans that were looking FORWARD to this movie. Sigh. Really glad I got the Good OG on Physical. Sweet Treasure of Physical Media!
Likewise!
I'll hopefully be introducing my girlfriend to it today!
It only 5 people at my theater 🎭 when I saw it 😂😂😂😂😂
Another Box office Bomb 😂😂😂
Mine was only 2 people
Was it on a Monday morning?@@TheKnight886
Wow... Seriously? 😂😂
Lol!!
I knew that mixing "IT" and "Crow" would never work.
Honestly, if you want to see Bill Skarsgaard kick ass, watch Boy Kills World. Not this travesty.
Thanks for saving me the time and money
i was neutral so no expectations no hype and not worried to se garbage neither, so put it short i was bored out of my mind, i felt so sleepy, only thing that kept me going was that i wanted to know how it ended
so glad i watched it on free streaming platform, worst movie sins beginning of 2023
The original Crow movie was a one-of-a-kind thing, it should never had any sequels or remakes, just like the comic it's based on, both based on real life tragedy in a way .. but these fake ass remakes and sequels need to go rot in a ditch in a desert next to ET cartridges.
That was perfect
I still remember the LA Times review of the original. “A film for tortured male adolescence.” Keep up the great work Thorias.
Damn, was not expecting for it to be this bad. I loved the original one, what a shame and insult to Brandon Lee's legacy
Exactly 👏🏻🙌🏻💯🐦⬛ disrespectful for that pile of trash 🗑️
I haven't watched a new movie since 2018. Hollywood has destroyed most franchises and hasn't produced anything good in a long time. I stick to the classics.
That would be true for me too, if not for reviewers like Thorius. People claim that UA-cam reviewers only push negativity, but I’ve seen Godzilla Minus One and a handful of others.
Compared to the old days though? I used to go to theaters all the time
Plenty of great movies since 2018. But yes, heaps of trash.
But you probably need to expand your horizon or tastes a little bit, friend.
It's the main reason why I keep expanding my DVD and Blu-ray collection and constantly digitalize the movies. Who knows how long they'll be available in their original form if this lunacy continues....
Just Top Gun Meverick on DVD.
Well, at least we can watch our favorite UA-camrs tear it apart.
I was afraid of that
Damnit
I'll just re-watch the original one for the thousanth time, enjoying it at every viewing
Fire it up! Fire it up!! FIRE IT UP!!!
This feels like kicking the flowers on Lee's grave 😢 I haven't seen it and now I won't, but I'm still very upset about this.
Skarsgard is the Steve buscemi of the Skarsgard family.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Everyone saw it comming. One look at the main character is enough of an indicator. What the hell is that??????
I agree The Crow Salvation is fine straight to DVD Schlock
I didn't hate Salvation either. I was pleasantly surprised.
Missed you. Great to see you are Back!!!
That thumbnail though 😆
I just have to admire your thumbnail to this video - a real good job!
I'd like to know your thoughts of the original Crow. It's not the flashiest action movie, but every character is enjoyable to watch. Brandon deserved an award for his performance. I literally can't think of a single scene that doesn't draw you into the story. Anyway, would like to hear your take on the classic film.
Thanks for your Service 🙂
I'm pretty sure the FANS of the original crow didn't give alex proyas shit for criticizing this remake.
Those certain people were the hollywood industry!
Everyone who loved brandon lee, Never asked for a remake!
Lmao "is it borderlands bad? I dunno cuz I didn't see borderlands but it's down there" LMAOOO
Madam Web: I'm probably the most uninspired superhero movie ever made.
The Crow 2024: Hold muh beer!
It really is a mess.
Literally NOTHING worked in the entire film.
Flat, lifeless.
Nominee for "Worst script ever".
Side note: I've watched a few of these reviews. I'd says yours is easily the most accurate.
I have the OG on DVD. This should never have been made.
I guarantee this was a way to preserve film rights.
What do you mean?
Wait what? Ghost in the shell was pretty destroyed already
@@SasamiTM I don't know what you mean by that. The original Ghost In The Shell and the films are masterpiece. The 2017 one with Scarlett Johansson is visually stunning but flawed in every other department, and the Netflix SAC 2045 reboot is mediocre with subpar animation
@@Mr_Mistah I was referring to the live action 2017 film, which while pretty missed almost every single point of the story characters and was a jumbled mishmash of the first and second movies, stand alone complex and for some reason Robocop
Another gloriously ferocious review. Thank you.
I really had my doubts about this one and you just confirmed it
Thank you for saving me two hours.
Thank you for your honesty....I am saving my money

I'd highly recommend rewatching the original.
🤔
I just enjoy your reviews. Well done 👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
This is destined to be in the same category as Poltergeist.
Where people say 'Wait...that had a REMAKE?'
Poltergeist had a remake? TiL
It’s not even fun bad… it’s just bad bad.
Damn!!!
Great.
So pretty much them putting him in this limbo world basically sucked donkey and that was the one thing I was hoping they could fix from the original wow and they screwed that up
I didn't know about this movie until I saw this video. No joke, I had no idea this was a thing.
I was pissed when I heard they were doing this
Too long establishing Shelly and Eric.
You also ad that, in that "timeline", the villain and his goons are still alive.
Have you considered ever doing a review of original films after doing a review of a reboot/remake?
When I saw the Crow in the trailer I was put off. The Crow isn't supposed to look like a clown. Are they trying to ride the wave from IT?
A mix of IT and Jared Leto’s Joker
@@Actually_Woke_6277 I can see that.
Thank you very much for this new film review, Thorias. so I think I will stick with the 1994 original. the 1998 tv series. the 2000 third film & the Deadtime comic. then. :)
AY UP THORIAS
*You know a movie's bad when you can remember trying to stay awake. Oof*
...And after seeing the movie, I still don't know." LMFAO!!!!!!
Remember when Brandon Lee's Eric Draven felt almost like a force of nature? There was only one big shoot out scene, but for the most of the movie, Eric takes his revenge like a vengeful spirit. Like something supernatural. This is just... Deadpool without humor and style.
Hilarious, dude. Great stuff.
Daaaaang. The Crow (2024) opened at number 8 at the box office. OOF!
You are so, so fortunate not to have seen Borderlands.
#Boycottthecrow2024
Rest in Paradise
Brandon and Bruxe Lee.
There can be only one
Eric Draven!
I'm wondering if it was meant to be that way.
lol love u bro
Some of the best scenes in the original are eric reconcting with his friend, him saving sarah and tells her it can't rain all the time, him clearing her mother's morphin addiction to give her a second chance to be a good mother to her daughter, in this movie there's none of that, he is the crow for like 25 minutes
I loved the part where Eric Draven said, "It's Crowing Time" and crowed all over the villains.
First, was this a movie we really needed remade? Especially after the original star was killed on set during its filming???
Secondly, whose idea was it to cast Pennywise as the Crow?🤦🏻♂️
If this movie did nothing else it gave us back the Thorias we've missed since the middle episodes of X-Men 97 ..rage on 'T'!
Hail Thorias🖖
Sad to hear but not surprising
I watched the original a few months ago, and it was AWESOME…the kind of awesome that didn’t need to be tried over again
Goth Thorias confirmed.
The Crow (1994) is one of my favourite films ever, one I've always wanted to see in cinemas. I was able to this year for the 30th Anniversary and made for one of my best movie going experiences ever. Hard pass on The Crow (2024).
I’m kinda glad it flopped. Hollywood needs to learn.
Yes, the trailer gave it away.
They could have focused on stupid stuff, like
Cinematography
Music
Fight Choreography............oh, AND WRITERS!!!!!
Could someone please tell me why the Master Plan is to
DESTROY EVERY IP THEY CAN GET THEIR HANDS ON?
They're not putting out anything new.
Every "reboot" or "re-visioning" seems hell bent on making sure everyone forgets what made the original great.
My review on letterboxd I did
I want to state I am a huge fan of the crow Graphic novels & the 1994 film The Crow with Brandon Lee ( who was the perfect reputation of the Crow from the written work which even the writer said himself) & to see Brandon Lee's Legacy being sh*t on like this makes me beyond angry.
I could say more but I think if I continue I will run out of space so I am leaving it here
terrible movie from all angles and I would rather watch the whole franchise of Twilight naked and pinned to a chair while being tortured than ever watch this again & I hate it with a passion Twilight
Goddamn it gotta open with like the best lines of the movie.
I'm so glad I watched the original movie instead.
The first crow was an incredible experience. This one was everything wrong with modern Hollywood.
