The Congress that was confident of returning to power in Haryana by ousting the BJP government after a decade, started the day on a high note, surging way ahead of the BJP, but the latter has shrugged off the predicted anti-incumbency sentiment to form the Government for the third consecutive time.
What went wrong for the Grand old party?
This is why they say, 'never count your chickens before they hatch.' The Congress was in a celebratory mood early in the morning, with analysts attributing BJP's supposed downfall to anti-incumbency, farmer protests, the Pehlwan issue, and the Agniveer Yojna. However, as the trends shifted, the narrative quickly changed to a 'Modi wave' and the strength of the BJP’s grassroots cadre. Once again, exit polls proved unreliable, reinforcing why they should perhaps make an exit from the Indian election scene altogether.

1. Don't make a pandit out of those who do polls (exit or watever). They cud b mentioned in the passing, just. U don't hv to make 40 minute program to bring forth their analysis.
2. The central leadership is just symbolic, thou has shown huge improvement over the last yr or so. It has been the local leadership which has been instrumental in a win or a loss.
3. Wherever the fault lines at the local/state-level hv been in chk the Congress has won, Karnataka n Himachal r the cases in point. Those lines, thou, exist there n r a constant threat. Madhya Pradesh, Haryana cud not b chkd, thus a loss....internal fueds.
4. At the state level the old guard hv had their watever minutes of fame. They hv to make way fr the fresh blood.

Barkha...some one goutam looks like a high class guy don't even know how to convince the voters... although voters usually likes the workers like one of them... BJP has those so succeeded... fortunately congress, jairam and some one gautham didn't know this reality....
