I'm a Skill Methodz fan, and I think All Area took this. The tie-breaker is close, but there shouldn't have been a tie-breaker to begin with. Tiasuke is unreal...
Both crews brining the heat damn sick battle... All Area Crew got robbed though i think that routine they did was sick Octagon! original! Taisuke and Luigi going head to head was nice both were on fire! The last sets they did to close out the battle... so nice watched it twice!
@bboyariel1 True, but a lot of judges also like to see freestyling rather than prepared moves. Adapting to and expressing the music while keeping prepared moves new and fresh makes for perfect sets.
@Aznzzz I agree that any bboy can break however the hell they want, that's the beauty of it. But I do believe in a way people should battle. And I just feel that SKMZ-attitude fits that American, true-hip-hop archetype. Like I said, people can break however they want, but there's an attitude in battle that's been that way since the beginning of bboy battles.
Crazy battle! Two of my favourite crews in one of the best semi-finals ever. I would personally give All Area the win in regular time, but I agree with the judges that Skill Methods won the OT.
First of all that DJ is off the hook. that music makes you want to dance. Great battle by my two favorite crews. I have to give the edge to Skill Methodz though because they are the better dancers. Both crews are awesome. Too bad Cloud can't make a lot of these battles anymore.
Bboy Full Deck was on So You Think You Can Dance USA, he made Top 20. BBoy Jed from SA has been doing critcals for mad long, but not in a power combo like that!!!!! Taisuke and Luigi, sets of the Year!!!!
@808ified that's like telling him to stop evolving. stop changing. stop being who he is. what he's doing is great and dope dude, you're basically going against what this dance is about: evolving. just let everyone grow and everyone do them.
@wearesuarez you also have to consider the fact that Luigi (as I admit is dope as hell) has used that set many times before, so the impact of seeing those moves were a lot less dramatic on a crowd of bboys. Taisuke's set however... no one has ever SEEN him do that shit, so people were very reasonably surprised/caught off guard
@XTudoX This. I have the utmost respect for All Area, I trained with them while I was in Japan back in August... Taisuke is a monster! But when it comes to grassroots bboy, it's really hard to top skill methodz
@chungt yea and they won the battle all area had already crashed twice and everyone in skill methods is well rounded all area everyone isnt well round but they are very dope at wat they do
@dudepal187 that's a fair argument, but a battle is supposed to be judged on that battle alone, not on how judges think a crew will do in the next battle.
If Cloud and Flea were there I might be able to believe SKMZ won, but they were doing windmills and halo's against chair flare combos. Not to mention All Area's flavor and originality. AA got robbed. Luigi is dope as always, holding it down for the whole crew.
Thought AA had this for sure, but after rewatching (several times) very closely, you begin to see the complexity in SKMZ sets--the ideas they were continuing were very strong/dynamic whereas AA had a different mentality, trying to cover all aspects as though it was supposed to be a contest of who could do more physical variation/mastery (almost a gymnastic mindset)of all the different aspects (toprock, "flavor", etc.)perhaps that is where they are wrong, because as SKMZ show, the execution
don't try to justify something that's already a fact which is AA is better. USA probably won bec. they had US judges on their side. This is the only factor that made US Bboy survived in international event lol
Here's the question: Should All Area win because they are the biggest crowd pleaser or should Skill Methodz win because they are well rounded on footwork, powermoves, freezes, and toprock?
@SwirvCross lol. I think the reason why skmz won this is because its like(rough guess) 60% of the time skmz were killing the music with zero crash. All area 50%. So yeah, this battle was hella close.
(continued) of the idea in question and the physicality of its changes are more sophisticated and are more powerful; especially in connection to the music, which I think AA may have had issues connecting with. With that being said, this was incredibly close and AA started catching up..towards the ending especially. But it is very clear that SKMZ were more mature about the dancing...AA was certainly incredibly amazing/athletic but they might have been too caught up in the "strategies" of winning.
I dont like Taisuke that much but, must say he's got some crazy moves like that holy fast flares, the crazy chairtrack thing and yeah.. that headswipe --> 2000 is helllla sick This battle was FIRE :) dope
SKMZ took this one by a small margin. They had the individual match ups on their side. Taisuke definitely killed it and was the one who probably carried All Area during the battle. If Cloud was there, then I would say that SKMZ is the clear cut winner. Props to both crews. Great battle!
I dont see why there was even a tie breaker... All Area clean took it in the battle and then same again in the tie breaker.... I cant even see that as close! both crews look good but All Area Crew looked incredible! DOPE!!!!!!
@Leetheras i listened to the crowd when little Bboys or Bgirls are battling. People seem to just cheer because oh, thats a kid! or oh thats a girl! Does that mean they win?
The reason Skilled methodz won was because they had clean and sick foot work and variations. It takes a whole lot more then Power moves to win a battle and that was a perfect example of it.
Is that why I saw like 5 chairfreezes from skmz lol? Not hating since we're from the same area, but all area got robbed. They had mad flavor in everything-- especially in power, not just "power"
Okay, so can you define "style" for me? Are you one of those kids that thinks style = footwork? If you don't see style in certain peoples power you got some seeing issues man.
No one does criticals the way Taisuke does em. No one does one handed halo combos like luigi does. They all got unique flavor bro, and if you can't see that then idk what to tell ya (besides making whack calls). All area def took the W in this.
Taisuke definitely killed it, but the rest of his crew wasn't good enough to overcome Skill Methodz. I could see why they didn't win. The match ups between members from each crew would have to go to Skill Methodz.
the dude from all area at the end definitely shut teknyc up, cuz he was indeed "dancing". i don't see what makes teknyc's tops to be considered dancing more than anyone else's tops.
1:25-1:33 What move is that called?!?! Chair flares?-I searched that all it showed was people doing flares while in a chair. Criticals?I searched that to.It didn't show anything like taisuke did at 1:25.
@hangguy209 Cloud isn't all there is your right. But to most people he's like an inspiration or an idol. I honestly don't know why but lots of people do look up to him. Skill Methodz could still win without Cloud. But for me and some other people, Skill Methodz is missing some of the magic when he's gone.
This is one of the most favorite battle
Great music and great battle between my two favorite crews.
Nov 2020! Love this Battle! I love how Venom gets into the last dancers performance(:
Forgot about this battle , and this still holds up. This is how you BATTLE!!!
Damn, this was a great battle. Taisuke's so fast I had to replay all his sets. Respect to Skill Methodz as well.
This video was the First time I ever saw taisukes criticals :') oh the noob days..
I'm a Skill Methodz fan, and I think All Area took this. The tie-breaker is close, but there shouldn't have been a tie-breaker to begin with. Tiasuke is unreal...
All Area were robbed of the W! :( Skill Methods were decent tho! :)
Damn the HEAT in this video! big ups to BOTH!! This is real BBOYN!!!
Both crews brining the heat damn sick battle... All Area Crew got robbed though i think that routine they did was sick Octagon! original! Taisuke and Luigi going head to head was nice both were on fire! The last sets they did to close out the battle... so nice watched it twice!
1st song is Akihiko Ichihara - The Big 20 Drum
@bboyariel1 True, but a lot of judges also like to see freestyling rather than prepared moves. Adapting to and expressing the music while keeping prepared moves new and fresh makes for perfect sets.
I think Japan won the battle, no tie-break was needed. Instead, Skill methodz won the tie break
damn true
@Aznzzz I agree that any bboy can break however the hell they want, that's the beauty of it. But I do believe in a way people should battle. Both crews were dope!!! Intense battle.
Form of SKMZ was so , amazing, fresh, Full Deck, Teknyc, Venom, Beast Mode and Luigi
Dope ass battle. Too bad Cloud wasn't there.
And Abstract...@@nycboyforlife
team of japan win
Team USA Winner!!
ALLYH REBEL BBoy Tomo
7:36, favorite set
@wearesuarez you also have to consider the fact that Luigi (as I admit is dope as hell) has used that set many times before, so the impact of seeing those moves were a lot less dramatic on a crowd of bboys. @XTudoX
This.
I have the utmost respect for All Area, I trained with them while I was in Japan back in August... Taisuke is a monster!

@chungt yea and they won the battle all area had already crashed twice and everyone in skill methods is well rounded all area everyone isnt well round but they are very dope at wat they do
FLUIDO JAM 5.. MELHOR FLUIDO JAM DE TODOS
@dudepal187
that's a fair argument, but a battle is supposed to be judged on that battle alone, not on how judges think a crew will do in the next battle.
Ikebe Shakedown - Hard Steppin
Whoever the DJ was at this battle. Damn he was awesome. That is true b-boy music.
I just keep comin back to this battle. Dope
Taisuke and those flaring turtle flips in the beggining was mind blowing.
If Cloud and Flea were there I might be able to believe SKMZ won, but they were doing windmills and halo's against chair flare combos. Not to mention All Area's flavor and originality. AA got robbed. Luigi is dope as always, holding it down for the whole crew.

All area should have won...they even had the crowds' cheers!!!
Here's the question: Should All Area win because they are the biggest crowd pleaser or should Skill Methodz win because they are well rounded on footwork, powermoves, freezes, and toprock?
Props to both crews...Great battle!
このバトル好きだな〜🥰
second song is David Batiste - Funky Soul
First song = Akihiko Ichihara - The Big 20 Drum
You people happy now?
all area is better
@jeromemania lol, no he isnt. Its Tomo, Katsu, Yu, Katsuya, and Taisuke
the 3rd or 4th (can't remember the order) song is Soul Suspects - Handle It
@SwirvCross
lol. I think the reason why skmz won this is because its like(rough guess) 60% of the time skmz were killing the music with zero crash. All area 50%. So yeah, this battle was hella close.
@hangguy209 i dont think they do? i think the judge for this battle here was the one to decide, not the crowd.
Taisuke is just bloody amazing
@808ified those are criticals btw, chairflare is diff.
@Bb0yIves haha. He was always this good. He couldn't show all his moves in BC one. But he did in the cypher in the event. It was sick
This is still one of the most hype battles I've ever seen, haha
01:20 the is: Akihiko Ichihara The Big 20 Drum
What a Tight and Fun Battle!
(continued) of the idea in question and the physicality of its changes are more sophisticated and are more powerful; especially in connection to the music, which I think AA may have had issues connecting with. Hype battle. Thought All Area edged out SM in originality and crowd pleasing, but it was a good one for both sides
man i love foreign bboys~ they bring whole different flavor to bboying.
All Area for thiz onez!!
@BillyTheBboy He's Bboy Full Deck. I think him, Bboy Mach-3, and Bboy Lil Demon, are the new additions to Skill Methodz.
Skill Methodz Best Crew Ever since 2000 when i started whatching
I dont see why there was even a tie breaker... All Area clean took it in the battle and then same again in the tie breaker.... I cant even see that as close! both crews look good but All Area Crew looked incredible! DOPE!!!!!!
Taisuke's round before the tie breaker = GOD-LIKE!
@Leetheras i listened to the crowd when little Bboys or Bgirls are battling. People seem to just cheer because oh, thats a kid! or oh thats a girl! Does that mean they win?
Airchair hops spin and critical's are SICK AND CLEAN
After the octagon routine and Taisuke's 2nd set, I still don't get why this went to a tie breaker.
Bboy Full deck is a great addition to the Skill Methosz Crew
beautiful battle!!!!....but where are KILL THE BEATS??
@ImanFlaserBoyz He's not from skill methodz. I believe his name is Full Deck
1st song = Akihiko Ichihara - The Big 20 Drum
SkillMethodz for sure , omg Full Deck's 1st set was awesome
why this clip has view more than final round because Taisuke ?
the second guy who danced for USA was the guy who was in so you think you can dance right? :)
Who was judging this battle? Those japan kids rocked skill methods in my opinion.
loved full decks sets. it shouldve been a 5tie in my opinion.
oh and who's the guy from All Area with the Blonde Hair? i like how he dances.
@TheBboyMoBy its not chairflares, they called criticals
Props to Skill Methodz, they were able to win even if they lost
I'm gonna have to say, the exchange between Luigi and Taisuke from 7:35 to 8:35, better be in the "Best Sets of 2010" highlight reel, lol
@jinruizhang But there's also a line between having a firm battle presence and being an ass hat out on the floor.
Taisuke his skill 4 ever 😨 💥 💪!!
My comment was months ago and I stand by it. Style over power any day. (Not saying power doesn't matter, just that style in my opinion is worth more.)
I dont think so. Every one of All area had a unique moves (flavor?). Depending on simple moves and power moves is Skilled methodz, isnt it? ( ゜_゜)
@hangguy209 haha. Some people started liking him after the movie too, and the video with Shakira and when he was with Madonna.
Taisuke definitely killed it, but the rest of his crew wasn't good enough to overcome Skill Methodz. I could see why they didn't win. The match ups between members from each crew would have to go to Skill Methodz.
bboy full deck's round tie break should be on who get the flava today!
the dude from all area at the end definitely shut teknyc up, cuz he was indeed "dancing". i don't see what makes teknyc's tops to be considered dancing more than anyone else's tops.
i think after taisuke lost at redbull. hes stepping it up alot.
I love how there's a rivalry between Luigi and Taisuke.
big ups to both crews
1:25-1:33 What move is that called?!?!
Chair flares?-I searched that all it showed was people doing flares while in a chair.
Criticals?I searched that to.It didn't show anything like taisuke did at 1:25.
one of the best battles ever
Theyre both awesome crews... and normally I wont disagree with the outcome of a battle. But I concur! They were robbed nasty!
Song 5:30
@RunLikeKaze hey if it has a name then taisuke's not the first to do it?
Best battle of 2010!
i was not ready for taisuke first set, almost spat out my drink
@bboyzillah its the sound of an air horn when they use it. you can hear that alot in ibe.
@benadesouza he is not the first one to do it.
Man what a FUCKING BATTLE. respect to both crews
3rd song please!!!!
Props to both crews, but specially All Area!
@pcolabboy702 Yeah, but he only did one. I mean it's still amazing especially for back then, but Taisuke did 3 into flares. That sh*t is epic.
Judges
?
Flying Buddha
Kid David
Ynot

thats what i like to hear a good crowd
