Nothing like seeing young people sing for the Lord. Come through granddad was playing those keys🙌🏽. Yass. Somebody need him to come teach classes up north.
The tempo issues were not due to the drummer. The pianist was playing long before the drummer joined in; ergo, the pianist set the tempo. I really love the sound of this choir, it's really full and their intonation is spot-on. The only part where I take issue is the fact that for most of the song, their faces look like they are all bored. You are praising THE LORD, you should be SMILING, regardless of tempo! They just don't look like praising the Lord brings them joy, and that is not a good message to be sending to unbelievers, just saying!
Finally someone said it right when it comes to the tempo is not always the drummer’s fault a lot of times we’re going by what the keyboard player is playing
Yeah, they look like they're not happy to be in this predictament...lol Who would think that opportunity to praise Him would be a predicament, an inconvenient happenstance? On the other hand they sound like singing before the throne of grace is something they're used to. Maybe they had a late rehearsal, maybe the choir bus fell into a ditch, maybe their star singer had a family emergency & they, rather than being as bored as they look, really only had their mind elsewhere. Who knows? Let's just appreciate the fine family of musicians assembled together to give glory to God!!!
Firstly, is this the Alabama A & M University Concert Choir or Alabama A & M University Gospel Choir? I pray that this is not representative of the University Concert Choir!! Secondly, the choir director's dress is WAY too short. She's just showing flesh and waving her hands. This is not directing!! Thirdly, the choir's timbre, especially within the sopranos, needs considerable training! The sound is bland, immature, undeveloped and not supported. In my opinion, the timing was fine and the pianist is right on it!!! During the introduction, what was the choir watching? ALWAYS keep your eyes on your director and sing with enthusiasm on your face. You are praising and glorifying the Lord!!!!!
@@LUX_8 A LITTLE LEARNING IS A DANGEROUS THING! "If You Confess The Lord, Call Him Up" is an awesome choice. Since YOU state that this is a "college" rather than a "church," I recommend singing "secular music" rather than this "unpolished" presentation about Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Tempo great and good selection choice. Tone quality of sound, especially among sopranos, needs much improvement! Also, the BLEND is not what is expected of a university choir, Every member and section trying to out sing or over sing the other. Directress' dress is “MUCH” to short! Gospel music should be polished and perfected. This performance was not!! My advice; listen to The Morgan State University Choir!

It's a college. Not a "church." 😐 And the young woman is directing. Are you too busy looking at her legs to notice her UPPER BODY?
C William you said everything...l agree.
