  • FlightLine RC’s 1600mm wingspan Spitfire Mk.IXc is approximately 1/7 scale and an entirely larger beast with all the bells and whistles we’ve come to expect from aircraft in the 1600mm Class. This Spitfire is molded from EPO foam, featuring a scale shape and smooth surface. The main wing is assembled from hollow foam parts and an interlocking plywood and carbon fiber frame, providing lower weight and higher strength than a solid foam wing. The main wing and horizontal tail are attached with screws for very convenient transport, and proper ventilation is also designed to keep the electronics cool. The large battery hatch and removable battery bay floor provides easy access to an organized battery and receiver compartment, including space for an optional flight stabilizer gyro. www.motionrc.c...

    Dear Ryan & Mike , this is the first time that the aspirations of an
    average customer (money), but a capable RC pilot(without fake modesty I consider myself to be such) have been affected. Dimension,
    power and weight ratio , fantastic design ,as I saw when I was child in full size,
    and ultimately acceptable price,because we paid twice the similar product so far.
    Thank you very much guys , and especially for you Capt.Ryan...on the fantastic landing.

    Great flying Ryan, will Flight line be doing a hurricane in the future,there seems to be a movement amongst a lot of modellers away from the "dynams", these Flightline jobs are a bit dearer to start with ,but if the quality is there,just need more hurricanes. the rc manufacturers will churn out any number of spits ,but the hurricane ,backbone of the RAF ,gets kicked into the weeds

    Great video Mike and Ryan, but there's nothing like seeing it live, wait 'til you guys see this plane, the foam is superb and she flies as good as she looks. One thing I recall was that Ryan had to put the flaps on a switch, which is no his norm. You may have mentioned this elsewhere, but it could be worth it if you haven't.

    She looks fantastic flying through the air. (Of course, part of that is through Ryan's own flying skills.)

    What a pity, you didn't fly with minimum speed with flaps ...
    But finally I saw it during landing - very nice landing ...

    Any particular reason the radio on the ground wasnt the radio that was hooked up? Both times the gear went up and down you didnt switch anything...

    that is a beauty, and nicely flown, I particularly liked the spiral dive, I was wondering if you were going to be able to pull out of it before the ground jumped up at it and turned it into white bean-bag balls.
    and to think I went to all the trouble of building one out of Balsa, when I could have just ordered one through hobby king, but you know this type of this wasn't available back then, unfortunately, i could have save myself a couple of hundred hours, Oh well, not to worry.

    Just lost my 1700mm corsair and now I need to fill the empty spot on the wall. It is a toss up between this and the FMS 1500mm p47. You have flown both what one would you recommend

      Motion RC I just tried mine for the first time. I was surprised by the big pitch down effect following flaps extension.. did you experience the same??

    I do wonder why go all out on larger scale and have a tail wheel that doesn't retract. Still plan on getting this once I make room and have a few visual mods I plan to do as well as maybe a retractable tail wheel.

    • @RCFlightReviews
      @RCFlightReviews 7 років тому +1

      The real spitfire (apart from very late marks) had a fixed tailwheel so it would be inaccurate to fit a retracting one.

    • @Lithonion1
      @Lithonion1 7 років тому

      Oh thanks for the lesson. I just assumed after the Mk. Vc they all had retractable tail wheels. Scratch one mod off the list. :)

    What type of flight time does this one get

    • @MotionRC
      @MotionRC  7 років тому

      5 minutes running hard. I have also ran around 8 minutes as well taking it easy. Great plane, reliable. Spitfire all the way. I really like the jug though too.

    • @johnmcgahern3946
      @johnmcgahern3946 6 років тому

      I've been out of rc for years now and in the past only flew glow plug engines and never battery. So you get 5 - 8 minutes on one charge. How does that work then, you obviously have to recharge the battery and how long does that take?

  • @johnmaclaim1

    whit kind of flight could fly longer than 30 mins ....?? 3 ,,4 mins is too less ...

    • @MotionRC
      @MotionRC  5 років тому +1

      No RC aircraft will fly for 30minutes unless you have a glider and catch thermals or some very high-end drones. A warbird like this can fly for about 10 minutes with mixed throttle usage
