Do People Have Freewill if God is All-Knowing?

- If God knows everything, He would know who goes to heaven and who goes to hell. And if that's the case, do people really have freewill? In this video, we do our best to give a Biblical explanation on such a complex topic.

I believe that God gave us free will. He knows the end from the beginning. That does not change our choices - it just means He already knows how we will choose. We still have to make our own choices, use our own free will, even thought He knows what our choices will be. In the end, we will not be able to say that WE did not choose wrong or right - we made the choice. He is a fair and just God!
Glory
Well said, agree. We definitely have free will I unfortunately disagree with this video and do not believe it's fully biblical at the start.
God did not give us free will, Satan did that.
God gave us the choice to have His will.
@@freshliving4199 I'mma need some elaboration on that one chief.

I hate my “free will “, because I will choose sinful things. I want God’s will for me. I want to choose righteousness things.
Yeah. I dont feel we have a choice at all, cauze there are prices to be paid. Sometimes I feel like he's a true tyrant just like a leader of north korea where they can do nothing except worship him. But guess christian or jew God has no real enemy or adversary for real. I say he is the adversary himself why? cauz he has no competition at all, no threat to his kingdom.since he is the alpha(1st) and omega(last), who could dare to challenge him. Mero tah boli nai banda garekoxa ani kasari afno kura rakhnu..paagal banaidiya xa.! ..Before christ a father God chose jews why? cauz afterall all us were his children(creation) then why choose just a particular people??.For we were not created by another force or deity like satan(lucifer). Forget him cause he didnt have a real power but just rebel like us.. So, God has no enemy but us rebels whom he knows everything about us.. but in our case we either destroy them or you know....
K saaro dimag kharab hoina vagwanko chai khas dusman xaki xaina?? Xaina hola hoin khali birudha(rebel) matrai hola. Ani k garna parney niyam anusar marna(kill) pani napaunu ra marna(get killed) ni napayesi k chai garna parney??? Huh...!!??
Now sometimes I feel like christianity itself is a lukewarm but then expect us to be too hot or too cold. I say jews re too hot and muslims are too cold....
Notice how many people did not like your honest answer? People do love themselves.
It makes literally 0 sense.
So HE created you and knows exactly how HIS creation is going to decide in the future and whether he/she will go to heaven or hell.
Thats the definition of not having free will because your future is determined by god.

I love your teaching skills. Yes, sadly, this is a topic of much contention in the Church. But this is probably the most concise and beneficial explanation I've ever heard in 37 years of knowing Jesus. It neither diminishes God's sovereignty, nor deifies man's autonomy. The "swing chain" analogy is great. Thank you!

wrong for the first statement already.
Oh ok, because this will promote an open dialogue and conversation. Great comment!
I was just asking myself this question this morning! God's timing is perfect 🤣😂
The CRUX of the topic is;
God knows which decisions *WE* WILL MAKE.
HE didn’t make those decisions.
Exactly correct
@@thenelsonbruhs722 Well its a deeper philosophical question that leads me to land on "yes and". If we take the following threepremises
1. God knows all choices we will make in a given scenario
2. God acts in the world
3. Gods actions change the scenarios we make decision in
then the question of "free will" becomes philosophically complicated.
If God knows that, by working in my life through salvation, i will eventually come to marry a particular christian lady instead of a non-believer.
The Christian likes cherry ice cream, the non-believer likes strawberry. Either way i go to an ice cream paler a few years into the marriage. I buy ice cream for my wife according to her preferences.
God knew what my choice would be in these scenarios, so by influencing the world and changing the scenario i find myself in, in a sense he directs my choice.
However, From a "time locked" perspective. I'm still freely making that choice imo.
I find the problem comes from trying to apply a time locked order to God outside of time
So i would argue that we made the decisions, according to our free will and also according to Gods divine will put into practice. And that neither is contradictory to the other
This is still fatalistic gnosticism.

Yes, free will to choose is the greatest expression of his love, even the angels have free will. He knows every conceivable out come from every situation and choice you could make. His word tells us plainly, we either listen or we don't.
This is some humanism right here. We need it as a justification for Gods choices but in reality we dont. God can do whatever He wants.
Did this video change the difinition of the word freewill. Are they saying that God predestined who will choose

@@mssouth1964 I think God predestined the lamb slain before the foundation of the world i.e. God chose Christ. And all who are in Christ are chosen and predestined by God. God isn't a respecter of persons, choosing one and denying another. God draws all humans to himself and the Holy Spirit convicts every person. That's my thought on the matter.
@@kurtwinslow2670 my thoughts are that He saves who He wants to. And thats not all men. And God can do whatever He wants. Jude 1 vers 4.

This thought has been lingering in my head so much recently, thanks for clarifying I’m glad I found you!!!!
I love the “I don’t know” honesty! But we all know one thing for sure, and that’s as long as we’re in agreement of the main point, the main reason we believe then we will have fellowship, and that our speculation discussions/debates probably brings great joy & laughter to God’s heart. He does have a sense of humor, and watching us try to figure it out and possibly be right is like watching a baby figure something out on their own and a very special moment.
I believe I just realized what makes the true relationship with God, our willingness to realize that our choice affects his choice and vice versa. If we make good choices, that makes for a better and closer relationship because we choose to respect that dynamic between us.
Thank you for this video I’m glad it popped up when I was scrolling earlier I’ve struggled with this and I feel like I know enough about this to move on in my faith journey
My thoughts on this video...
Thought 1: Of course God can do whatever and everything because we are just something created by Him.
Thought 2: It's our choice what we do with our life. Indeed we are still given free will to do what we prefer. And we were also given guidelines on how to live our lives. If we choose not to follow/believe God then it is not His fault at all.
Thought 4:
Jesus is indeed the sacrificial lamb. 😢 Thank you Lord. 🙏
Thought 5:
Amen, this ties back to Thought 1.
Love how you put things in perspective. 👍 Definitely worth sharing.
I love how you ignored thought 3🤣🤣. The idea of predestination would contradict thought 2 ecause it would mean those people were predestined to not gather with jesus

Thanks so much for this. Ive been debating and wrestling with this topic for so long and conclude the same.
I struggle with the idea God pre-destined people to hell. And whereas I do believe we, as his creation have no right to question him by the same token I would struggle sharing Gods justice to a non-believer by suggesting he predestined people to go to hell for eternal punishment.
@@RStark-ek7mh whats your point exactly? I think some people are most certainly chosen. This however, does not mean all are. Bible vs support both arguments. For me however, I can simply not reconcile God being 💯 fair and just and yet, predestining most to hell. I believe God wants all to repent and accept Jesus as Lord and saviour.
I have wrestled with this myself so many times! It's not central to salvation so I won't argue it with others, but I think your explanation is brilliant! Another point is, if we were ALL predestined for Heaven or hell, Jesus's sacrifice wouldn't have occurred. Great video! Thank you so much!
That's what I told someone, if God already predestined us for heaven or hell, then there was no need for Jesus to come and even the Bible. We will all just go along doing our things and not engaging with God in any way, since it's already done.
@@maenowwesleymotuba7516see to me that explains why predestination isn’t fully true in the sense that some believe it. but I can’t understand how predestination isn’t true because of God’s all-knowing nature. He chose to give us all life, he knew everyone’s outcome in the end.
He knew the people that would be saved and the means by which they would be saved (Jesus), but we don’t necessarily have the choice to make our decisions because there’s no other outcome possible.
idk how to explain it but i’m just so confused about everything. if it says in the bible so many times that God does not change his mind he can’t be persuaded, then how is us committing our lives to Jesus *our choice*? it’s not him changing his mind because he already knew like idk
@@annelisemarier2588 if someone can clarify this, that would be amazing!!!!
just because God knows the outcomes of our choices and decisions doesn't mean it's affecting us. WE ourselves have no clue what decisions we will make in any given situation so it's rly up to us yk? like right now, if i converted to atheism and rejected christ, i know what the outcome will be and where i will end up so i can't say to God on judgement day that i'm not to blame since my fate was already predetermined if i myself KNOW the result and consequences of my choices. either way if i had to describe this summary i would say we have more of an illusion of free will than anything. however, that doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing. it works for us yk? after all, we are just mere human beings and God is more superior to us. I think once we all start to realize that then this will all make a lot more sense. :)
@annelisemarier2588 God being all-knowing would mean He knows the outcome of all our choices, not that He made all our choices for us.
It's like us watching a video we recorded and being able to skip ahead from start to finish. We are the ones who started the video to record and we can see what already happens in the end by skipping to the end, but what happened in the video we didn't specifically make happen.
You're right that the outcome that has and will happen is the only outcome possible; because of the choices we have made.
This is how I thought of it as well. I also saw in a video how love wouldn’t exist without free will. God knows what He is doing + He is a loving father and that gives me peace.

A pastor I knew explained free will to me like this when I was a teenager when I asked about God and free will:
Pastor: A five year old child is sitting at a table, and in front of the child are two bowls. One bowl is filled with ice cream and the other bowl is filled with cauliflower. Which bowl is the child going to eat from?
Me: The ice cream.
Pastor: How do you know? The child has free will, he could eat the cauliflower. How can you be so sure that he'll eat the ice cream?
Me: He's a kid. All kids like ice cream.
Pastor: So even though he has free will and can make any decision he wants, you still know the decision he will make. That is God, except his wisdom and understanding is far greater than we can even imagine. If you can know what that child will eat, then God can know what every choice you're going to make in your life, even if you have free will. That doesn't mean God controls your decisions, just that he knows what decision you'll make even if you don't know yourself before you make it.
I absolutely love this approach. I need to memorize this.
@@rabz4948 well wdym? The kid has the free choice to choose the cauliflower, but how many kids do you know that would do that?
@@peachyoana1 even if we take out god that kid will still be predetermined because he can only pick what he wants and he isn’t in control of what he wants he never made the decision to like cauliflower over ice cream it was just coded into him that he would prefer ice cream therefore he isn’t freely choosing the ice cream because he can never change what he wants
@@rabz4948 Bro stop bs-ing. On the daily you choose like 20 times the ice cream and few times the cauliflower. It's not always one choice, you choose whether to be righteous or not and whether to follow God or not. It is a free will, right now you can take the decision on what to do with your life. Yes, "it is coded" into us that the flesh will be sinful, and each one of us experiences lust, anger, and other sinful thoughts and actions, but this is where YOU CHOOSE whether to repent or to continue sinning. If you repent and let God change you then you are no longer gonna pick the ice cream every time. On the other hand if you refuse to let God change you, you will continue picking the ice cream. You are in control, yes God knows the future but your actions affects your future. Regardless of what He knows, you still get to choose what you do.
@@rabz4948
You're talking about predestination, which some Christians believe and others don't.
In this case, you asked how the child could have free will? What child do you know would eat cauliflower or sauerkraut or brussel sprouts over a bowl of ice cream?
This is a decision that anyone can know what's going to happen. I'll give you another.
A child is told he can go to an amusement park for the day where there will be games and rides and treats, or he can stay home and clean his room.
What do you think the child would do in that situation?
Amen brother. Spot on. You truly understand the Gospel. Good job.
@@youbetyourwrasse You don't understand Calvinism do you. Within Calvinistic theology (and Lutheranism), the bondage of the will is said to only extend to matters of salvation, or in other words, a man can choose everything else freely, but cannot choose to save himself. Now, I find one of the best proofs of this doctrine of the bondage of the will with respects to salvation to be some of the texts from John chapter 6. Take John 6:37 for example; “All that the Father giveth me *shall come* to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” The thing that always strikes me with the text is the force of shall come. All kinds of objections can be raised against whether God calls sinners to himself, but the strength of shall come remains. What has God said that he will do that he has not done, and just here Christ told us that the father will make them come to him. The sinner may say, 'I will not come!' but God says, 'you shall come!' Is the sinner more powerful than God? Can he resist the will of God, which is that he will come unto Christ. No, a sinner is not mightier than God, and so Christs promise here does still stand.
Does the sinner hate God and Christs gospel? well God says, 'he shall come.'
Does he say that he will never come to Christ, and that he would rather go to hell than take on the Christian religion? well God says, 'he shall come.'
Does the sinner lack any want of faith, or any heart for repentance? well God says, 'he shall come.'
It is a great assurance to know that God will not cast out sinners, and that all who come unto him he has called to come. John Bunyan (the author of "The Pilgrims Progress") wrote a great book on this subject titled "Come and Welcome to Jesus Christ." Thank you! I’ve been asking this question to myself for a while. Praise God!
Keep in mind , the Holy Trinity has the name 'I AM'. He doesn't know "already" or "beforehand" . These are all human constructs of our finite minds. God knows - period. Since He knows every circumstance and moment of our lives , He also knows He never abandoned us with the grace to avoid the wrong choices , or to be tempted beyond our capacity to resist. So in our final judgement at death , we will be shown His perfect justice ( not mercy - that was for during your lifetime ) the perfect justice of either heaven or hell for eternity. As long as your WILL is intact , however weak your body becomes , you can repent of sins and return to God's love. Praise our Lord , our Creator , for His infinite goodness ! I love this part in scripture where Jesus says "you believe because you have seen . Blessed are they who have not seen , yet have believed " I interpret this to mean He's referring people like us centuries later . Jesus sees all times at once . With the individuals He was talking to , He used the past-perfect grammar "they HAVE believed" even though we weren't conceived/born yet.

The objection of "If God knew such & such beforehand , then why wouldn't He intervene and change the outcome ?" is making the assumption that our own freely made choices had nothing to do with the consequences . I often feel REALLY bothered by this to the point where it triggers my depression and "other" thoughts. I'm often overwhelmed by the responsibility God has placed on mankind to the point where I often feel angry about it. I don't want to be at odds with God. Dang, man. I struggle with all of those feelings too. I do think that you have to interpret Roman’s 9 in it’s context and the context of other scripture. If you read Roman’s 9 carefully you’ll notice that it is not talking about people’s salvation, but rather God’s choosing of Israel as opposed to other nations. Also you have to keep verses like 2 Peter 3:9:
“He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
I believe that this verse means that God wants people to be saved more than we do.
However, like the video said, God did choose some people to go to heaven. But I think He gave us all a legitimate choice. And at least He cared enough the damned to die for their sins.
As far as having kids I don’t know, man. I really want kids, and I think God wants people to have kids. But I can’t help but feel that I’m risking their eternal souls for selfish reasons, and that it would be more merciful to let them not exist. But then I feel like that by not having kids, I’m not trusting God and saying that I know better than the Almighty. I think I will have kids, and I will pray for them really hard and try to be a good witness to them.
One day I will understand. Meanwhile I just have to try and trust God.

Been there too.
You are listening to the wrong voice.
Depression is simply telling you something is missing. Take a genuine guess what’s missing?
Thoughts…take ALL thoughts captive. Meaning ignore them, they are deceiving you every step of the way…yes even the “good” ones.
Don’t want to exist…is self condemnation . Who do you know that wants you to condemn your self? Exactly, not God.
When you realize what’s missing then you will recognize the right voice.
This voice leads you out of the darkness of the imagination where you are at the moment.
Thanks for making this video. I was just reading Ephesians 1 this morning and was wondering about this.
Really appreciate the way/ tone you always end your videos with "Jesus loves you".
Great video. Cleared up some issues I was struggling with. Ultimately, we have free choices, and God has ultimate free will because he is omniscient.
My understanding is that God must transform the heart of a sinner before they can come to repentance. And when God calls you to him, you can’t resist that call. He’s chosen you. It’s entirely based on his sovereign will and I think it’s wonderful. free will being the more popular position baffles me because i don’t see much scriptural support for it, as opposed to predestination. either way it’s not an issue i’d break fellowship over
I love the first concept of “God will do whatever he pleases”
That to me is, God is the only one who knows TRUE freedom.
That means, the closest thing anyone can get to true freedom is knowing our LORD!
@avb19d6 Very few come to know Him, he said. "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord and I will say, I never knew you" to their faces. And say, away from me you worker of iniquity. (Matt.7) This is the same reason the Heavenly Father hates you. (Ps.5:5.) You must repent like you promised the Lord when you received him. Very few do so trust no man and do it yourself. It is the only way to know when you do it.
I am so confused because didn’t the Bible say when you get to heaven god will erase every sad memory you know of just so heaven could be a happy place. Does that not contradict the statement of free will by knowing god more since you don’t have the freedom to feel negative emotions. Like does heaven lack ambiguity if the only emotions present are just the positive ones, it reminds me of the book The Giver. Also God is the creator of evil which means he also created hell, this god gave us-humans- two choices(follow god or burn in hell) which is not free will in my opinion, it is more like an ultimatum. As a matter of fact many Christian’s follow god because of the fear of hell. Someone please answer my questions or respond to this because I am curious as a fellow ex Christian.
And also if god has the right to do whatever he desire and he desires and he desires that we are free of sin why can’t he not cleanse the world of sin. Make the world a better place for us. I mean, instead of sending his only son to get brutally nailed on the cross I’m pretty sure he could have done something more effective to cleanse the world of sin. (No disrespect to the religion)
god forces existence on all of us and punishes those who reject it. Living forever is not freedom, its a prison.
@abongojfjdlel4096 No, going to heaven is not a refusal of free will. You go to Heaven because you want to and choose to, and therefore go down the path that leads to it.
It's like saying, "even though I walked into the water, I now can't breathe so that means my free will was taken away from me."
Also, reality is what it is, and there is nothing beyond what God has created. The fact of only good and evil is what reality is, so it's not just "an ultimatum." If you want something other than good or evil, that means you must become God and make something that is different from good and evil; a third option.
You're also forgetting about satan. God didn't specifically create hell to purposely throw people in it. It was created from the fallen angels who brought evil and destruction into the world, and those who intentionally reject God go there, because hell is the only place absent of God. If you don't want to be with God, well then hell is where God will be absent. God doesn't force you to be with Him in heaven if you choose to reject him.
Christians do what is good because they know it is good. We all have a sense of what is right and wrong, yet we acknowledge that morality comes from God. It's important to follow God because you love him rather than purely doing it to avoid hell.
Thank you for this wonderful teachings. I really liked your videos and topics. Please, Please, continue making this kind of videos and topics. 🥺🙏🏼

It always seemed to me that when we are born, so is a new soul and this soul has the ability to make its own choices out of God's control. That is why sex is so sacred and protected in Christianity especially. Because you are bringing a new soul into the world which is much more serious than a group of atoms as some seem to believe
Great job my hillbilly friend. This topic does not need to divide the church, but because some preachers are proud and think they can comprehend everything it unfortunately does.
If someone says the sky is blue, and another says the sky is gray to a blind man it would be a contradiction. But given his sight he would then understand. We are in the position of the blind man not knowing everything right now. That is why we must walk by faith in the Holy Bible even when there seems to be contradictions.
It really isn’t hard if we just let God be God, and we are not.
Do you have to choice? Yes you do. that's your answer. Nothing else needs to be said.
If he knows what i am going to do and what type of life i will lead, then why not just send me to heaven or hell? Unless he doesnt know….
he wont just send us straight to heaven or hell bcuz we wouldn't have had a chance to live our lives. that wouldn't be fair of him. we would obviously question why he is sending us to heaven or hell when we didn't even get a chance and he would say that he already foresaw our choices and actions. see how that is unfair and doesn't make sense? God is fair and just.
@@donkeykong2.0 what good is living your life if you are predestined for hell, id rather not live at all than have a limited time on earth and then being tortured forever,
he already knows your going to hell before you're born, and still allows you to be born and exist knowing that you're going to hell, that is maniacal and sadistic.
We don't have free will and I also believe that anyone who initially didn't believe in God but later comes to the realization of Him, yet chooses not to save his own soul and life because of this realization, loves God for His decision regarding his position in life, accepts that he is going to hell, and selflessly thanks the Father, is a person whom God loves and will save. In any case, i don't have any free will. I love God with all my heart and soul. Whatever he has in store for my soul i thank him and love him immensely.
I believe he knows how we turn out, but that doesn't change our choices, only solidifies them. Its still free will, but he just knows how we end up. I pray all of you know we make choices that !matter. God bless.
I disagree on your second thought, because it's actually quite the opposite - it's God's choice that affects people's choices.
The reason why people are unwilling to choose God is because God Himself has already hardened their hearts; Romans 9:18 says "So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills."
Another reason is that God can and has abandoned nations. What happens when God leaves a nation to it's own devices, let's say America for example, what do you see today?
But overall, this was a rather good video on a highly-debated topic of predestination and God's sovereign election.
God bless you.
I disagree with your statement, at least with the way you imply it.
God does not choose to harden the heart of people for the purpose of not WANTING them to obey Him. God never makes a sinner desire or choose evil, neither does He ever create sin or put sinful affections in a person’s heart. God is patient and merciful and continues to give evil people opportunities to repent, and while He never entirely abandons any human being in this world, He will eventually allow stubborn sinners to be carried along further into the chosen sins of their evil hearts (Rom. 1:24, 26)
Sin would naturally infect and corrupt the heart utterly if left to itself. Therefore, all that God has to do to harden sinful human beings is to withdraw His common, preventive grace and give the sinner over to what he already loves and wants to do.
Take for example the Pharaoh in Exodus. God is described as hardening Pharaoh’s heart so that Pharaoh disobeys God. Ten times God is said to harden Pharaoh’s heart, six times it simply says it was hard, and three times Pharaoh is said to harden his own heart. The evil in his heart was already there.

I listen to a lot of Calvinist Preachers, but One thing I could never get behind was their view of Predestination, Like you said I would always point back to John 3:16 and Romans 10:13. I agree with you on predestination. And by the way I found your channel a few weeks ago and I really, really love it. Keep doing the LORD's work. God bless you, and peace and grace be to you.
I feel like thought 5 should be our conclusion.
God’s righteousness and knowledge is infinite and his perception unlimited so we can only go so far in understanding him and his ways
But he has given us his word for guidance, knowledge, and truth. Amen
One thing you said is confusing to me. If God does predetermine who is going to heaven and who is going to hell, then the question for me isn't about our choice, it is rather why God allows those who are predetermined for hell to be born in the first place. It sort of contradicts God not wanting people to go to hell.
He said God does not predestinate hell since he loves the whole world as in John 3:16.If he did so it would contradict his love for man as you have just pointed out.Be blessed.
@@christiankiptoo6647 Very thin line of saying he does not predestine but knows where they are going
why tell Adam not to eat the apple if he knew he was going to do it? better yet,why punish him for it?
Or why tf he put that apple there in the first placw lmao...the guy literally intended for it to happen
It’s almost like GOD is… evil
That's not true
I think...
God created us, so he knows us so well, more than we know our selves. Thats why he knows, what our choices will be, and also the consequences of them. But we still have the possibility to choose, and God is there to catch us, when we fall. Because he loves us ❤
Everytime I struggle with a heavy question, like this is, I imagine God as a father. Then suddenly, everything makes sence to me.
Wowww, this really helped me!!!! Thank you so much!❤
Awesome work :) Just a comment about point #3, God chose us before the foundation of the world because the Bible says God foreknew (had knowledge of our future choices since He sees the future):
Romans 8:29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
Romans 11:2 God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?
Amen 🙏 this is soo truee
What Scripture is being referenced? The one Romans is referencing?
Amen brother glad for your ministry, no one truly is free except God. Think of it as programmed vessels we are all just beings, sort of like a glove of the hand of the most high. A machine with e-motion(energy in motion) & variables pre-set by the most high. Choice and circumstances can be set up like a tree system cause and effect fear of God is not just the beginning of wisdom but the reverence to hold his commands to high esteem and act accordingly to his will and synchronized with his right hand. That's why we need to take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ.
IF YOU BELIEVE IN man's FREE WILL ASK YOURSELVES THIS:
is it a humble position I hold in my heart that I am more free than the lord's decisions?
Are my choices and power limited?
Is there such a thing as synergy with the holy spirit, and how is that obtained?
In a lucid dream if you experienced you can wish anything you desire by belief and pride God came to show us not just his power through humility but in poetic justice way since Lucifer established the first sin pride & envy against him.
"It was pride that changed angels into devils; it is humility that makes men as angels."
Saint Augustine
bif you know with 100% certainty that if you have intercourse with your partner you will produce a child that will be all his life in the most horrible pain and suffering would you decide to have intimacy and bring this child to the world?
this is the best explanation on the topic -- better than all those big theology professors and podcast hosts etc
This video brings me such joy & a warm content covers my body, I spasm hard feet clenched as if a bird clenched on its still warm prey.
Names were written in the Lamb's book of life before the foundation of the world. This is because there is not one righteous, no, not even one. If God didn't select sinners to be saved in his Book, then none would be saved, due to the depravity of man. Therefore, God doesn't choose people to go to Hell because it isn't necessary. Hell is the default destination. He need only act to save, and if He does not act, the default will take place. He does need to choose people to be saved, to take them off the default path.
Do you read the ESV by chance? The word “apo” is not the Greek word for before, nor is that word referring to people’s names being written but to the Lamb being slain. The ESV has a very strong Calvinist bias, and they translated this verse poorly because of it. Even a Calvinist should agree if they’re being honest and aren’t so fragile/puffed up about their beliefs that they feel they need to prove every single verse that can be interpreted Calvinistically must be or they lose somehow.
Yes, men make mistakes. Even Bible translators. Look that verse up in an interlinear and tell me what you think. Or you could compare translations too. Jesus Christ is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. That’s what’s being said there.
Interesting fact I learned the other day! Apparently the last verses of Revelation (KJV) were guesswork, and apparently ‘book of life’ is more accurate as ‘tree of life’ 😁
Admittedly though, I like the translation of ‘book’ better
@suulix4065 in most translations it is tree. The tree and the book are different things
Think of it like this: a game with 6 endings, God knows every ending and every choice to get to every ending. But he doesn't know your path until you make the choices. But he knows every choice you could ever make and where every choice will lead you
That sounds more like a multiverse theory thing, which really isn't plausible. I used to believe it before, but I realise if it were real, God would've chosen a better world than this one. God is outside of time and knows everything, and He also knows the future that will happen as a result of the choices people make, so He knows who gets saved.
I am trying after knowing in my Heart there is without a doubt a CHOICE for everybody to make among Salvation. I Know I am Saved because of the choice Jesus Made for all of us and me taking advantage of the choice to make when I fell under conviction that day. I have been battling the words to try and explain to my young Sons the interpretation of this. Although as this BRILLIANT OUTLINE WAS SHOWN, It is still hard to explain because of so many different ways that people pertain the meaning to. I know without a doubt I am Born again through Jesus Christ and him alone. I do believe that without conviction no one can just get Justified through emotion. Well not just emotion but U must be drawn Paul said. Just these few things I expressed I have personally made almost too complicated to try explain because of the Predestanation views . This is a huge help for me and simple to understand. I get overwhlmed thinking too much when in the end it is that simple to explain. "SOVERIGNTY OF GOD" AND PREDESTINATION. THIS IS THE MOST HELPFUL OUTLINE I HAVE SEEN PERIOD. SO SIMPLE. I am so guilty of letting my thoughts get ahead of the choices that I could and should be making. God Bless U for this. This is a huge help to me and has given me a much easier way to explain several things that lead me to the best CHOICE Iever made and anyone has that oppurtunity. Thank U for Posting this.. what a huge help. God Bless U
Thank you God for showing me that video 🙏❤️
Can someone who was not elected be saved?
I have the same question
Everyone can be saved Jesus said tackled this in John 6:33, For the bread of God is he who comes down from Heaven, and gives life to the world.
VS 35: I am the bread of life who comes from God, HE WHO COMES TO ME shall never hunger, and HE WHO BELIEVES IN ME, shall never thirst.
So as long as you come to Him, you become the ELECTED, but the He says again in VS 36: You have seen me and yet do not believe, all that my Father gives me WILL COME TO ME, and the one who comes, I WILL NOT CAST OUT.
So if at any point in your life you discovered Jesus and believed in Him, then were actually among the number whom He said his father has given him. Remember back in Jesus days there were people who saw Him do signs and wonders (in Short at the beginning of the very book of John 6 He had just done the miracle of feeding 5000 people, which was what began the topic about bread) meanwhile they still didn't believe, so that was Jesus subtle way of telling them that they could be responsible for being among those whom God numbers as his own, if they believed him. So as long as you've believed and accepted Him them you've been CHOSEN/ELECTED by Him.
Then in vs 44, He said, "No one can come to me, except the Father who sent me DRAWS them" and how does he do that, by his Spirit which is on earth for it is Jesus that said that when He the Spirit of truth comes, He would reprove/convict the world of SIN, RIGHTEOUSNESS AND JUDGEMENT. So God through the Holy Spirit does convicts the Sinner of sin, which makes Him repent and come to Jesus, gets accepted and get numbered among His elected. He convicts Believers of Rightousness so that they can live a Holy life in other not to fall Back into Sin, and OF Judgement because the workers of iniquity are Judged (including the ruler of the world as seen in John 16:6-15). So I tell you that as long as you can respond to the beckoning of the Spirit, then you are numbered among the elect. Remember we were sealed with the seal of the Spirit and Jesus said "I will not leave you comfort less, I will come to you".
And in vs 45 he said "It is written in the Prophets, 'And they shall be taught by God'" (how, by His Spirit) then in vs 63, He said, it is the Spirit that Quickens, the Flesh profits nothing, the words I speak to you, are Spirit and Life.
So as long as the Spirit of the Father can still speak to your Heart and Reprove you to Jesus my friend you are saved and will remain saved and that is what it means when He said "No one can come to me except it be granted to Him by God" because alot of people will hear and refuse to believe, they will see and doubt, as with the people Jesus was talking to hear, because alot of them turned away and stopped following him because they felt He was saying a hard thing. And then he looked at His disciples and asked them, are you also going away, and they said to Him "Lord to whom shall we go to, you alone have the words of Eternal life." so that is the heart with which we must approach Jesus, that He alone has the words of Eternal life.
God bless you.

What
I think he intends for everyone to come to Heaven
But I think it's your choice
Kinda like when it's your first day of school
Your teacher intends for everyone to pass
So everyone has a clean slate a fresh start
The whole class starts off with an "A+" no matter who you are
It's just up to you to maintain it
Now if you detour
And your grades starts to drop
Is mostlikely because
Somewhere along the line
You chose not to follow rules instructions
Pay attention
Or whatever the case may be
But no matter what you still have a chance to pass
By bringing your grade up
And in some cases
Mostly Maybe most
If you don't get below a 65
You can still pass
Just like in life you might think if you sin
And then ask for forgiveness
And keep repeating the process
You might get discouraged after
Repeating the process
But as long as you're living
You have a chance to better yourself
It's called repentance
But you
Should know when you've had enough of life throwing you through the ringer
Really it's your own self
Throwing yourself through the ringer
It all depends on how you feel
Hopefully it's not that bad where you wanna give up
But if you fall
Get back up
And remember what it felt like when you fell
And try not to fall again
Because it hurts right ?
So just remember that
God intends for you to come to Heaven
But along the way
There's distractions
That isn't even that complicated
I think... Honestly...
We're just curious humans
And you know what they say about
Curiosity
It kilt the cat
Just Imagine if the distractions were complicated
The distractions are noticeable
What if they weren't
Maybe Some may not be noticeable
of course
Where is my Ms. Pac-Man players
Who gets to the boards where the power pellets change fast after you eat them
Or the board where the power pellets
Don't change at all
After you eat them
But remember what it took for you to get there
The first board the power pellets lasts a long time
The second board third board 4th board then then boards after the pellets start to change a lil faster
Anyway
I think it's just more of a test
He prepares you for
After passing the easy ones
That are noticeable
you should have the knowledge to pass the ones that aren't visible so to speak
Because you couldn't get
To that point
Without passing the one that were visible
It becomes a point
Where You like gotta see in the spirit
To understand
You have to get knowledge and wisdom
People can have freedom of action but it doesn't mean they have freedom of will. Just because you had the ability to choose otherwise does not mean you would've ever chosen to do otherwise. Let's say someone is about kill someone with a gun. They are wighing the pros and cons of this action and they decide to shoot because they hate the person. In my mind this person was free to not shoot but it doesnt mean his impulsive feelings would have allowed him not to shoot. Same could be said about the same person if he goes to jail and changes his mind about killing. He is now convinced jail is a horrible place and when confronted with thr chance to kill someone again he does not do it because of the risk of prison. It's just that in this case his fear of killing didn't allow him to do otherwise even tho nothing was restraining him physically from pulling the trigger
This ties into God because God has created everything. He created all the environments that create violent and peaceful people. Some people are simply a product of their environment like racist people back in the day. So now if God set everything into motion, he creates all the causes for all effects essentially. Even if God doesn't like it, he is the one that set into motion someone's impulse to kill or someone's desire to spare someone's life. On top of this God can see the future and apparently all people are already destined for heaven or hell to God, meaning that even if criminals are free to accept Jesus in the sense that they have all the tools to do so, it does mean they will have the desire to and the desire to not want to accept Jesus is ultimately a product of God because God caused everything in his creation, even if he doesn't like what he's caused. It Is entirely possible for God to make Adam and eve knowing they would betray him, while not liking that they would. In my mind Adam and even didn't have free will but freedom of action and freedom of action to me is not enough to make someone morally responsible for an action
God bless the work of your hands You are such a blessings to the family of God.
I think another way to tie in is God knows who is and who isn’t going to Heaven or Hell, but we as humans don’t know. However, it is still our job as Christians to spread his word for more people to make a choice; follow him or reject him.
I believe God predestined ALL people to go to heaven, but man's free will/choice determines whether we go to heaven or not.
Even Hitler?
@@vaughntwo-three3721 well, it was his choices that drove him to do such things so yeah
If we are all predestined for heaven, why did Jesus need to die?
@@dmbsituation Because people reject Jesus as Lord. Although God desires everyone one in heaven people who refuse Christ as Savior don't get in.

What a quality well put-together video! good stuff. 👏
Solid video my dude. Keep up the good work
The subject of an Omniscient God and man’s free will, will always cancel each other out….
Yes. We have Free Will, no doubt about that in my mind. Man knows his death but not the hour, but I believe that throughout our lives He shows us that He is there and that He truly loves us.
I like the way you explained free will. Thanks
Yes, I too also replaced "free will" with "choices." God revealed that to me. Thank you my Lord. Choices make more sense than free will. People think that free will means they can do whatever they want, but that's not correct. Instead God gives us choices. So the choices we make can change our path. God gives us what we give to our children because we love them. Thank you for your video.
Well done brother. This is probably the greatest explanation of God's sovereignty versus Man's Free Will that I've ever seen. You've earned a like and a subscribe with this video. May the Lord Jesus Christ continue to bless the work you do for him.
Thank you this cleared up alot for me. Praise the father in heaven
I'm fairly late to the comments section but I'd like to share a thought on this topic. Let me first affirm that God is indeed sovereign, all powerful, uncreated, timeless, and infinite. I struggled with this for quite some time as well. My logic seemed to be at odds with what I believed. 'How could an all knowing and loving God create souls knowing that they were destined for hell?'. I spent countless hours wrestling with this conundrum. Eventually I came to this insight: God has truly given humanity the ability to chose but God sees *ALL* possible choices that we make at *ALL* times. Once we make a choice we collapse the "path" that our life is heading in. Things and paths that would have been available to us had we made a different choice are gone and we proceed onward towards the next point of choice. God sees all possible outcomes for every possible decision that we make. He knows what would or could happen for every choice we didn't make along side every choice we did in fact make. I believe that for every single person that has ever existed, does exist, and will exist there is a path of choices that will lead that individual to God and salvation.
I once heard someone ask me, "If there is a God, why is the world so messed up?" Imagine how messed up the world would be if there was no God. People who don't have God in their heart make wrong choices. When we have God in our heart, we make the right choice. There is a difference between a mistake and doing evil. I make choices everyday. And I can't count them all. But I do bad things when I choose badly, and I make up for it when I choose wisely.
the literal definition of free will defies the first point
I feel like God gave everyone the best possible chance at being saved. Now it is up to us...
I'm really struggling with point2. My choices are indeed horrible, that would make my life terrible won't it? My past haunts me and there is no way people will forgive me. God can but not people. I don't want my choices to be my life, I want God's plan ONLY. I don't want choice or free will, I only want his will. I'm okay with being a puppet. But all this speaks more about me not owning up to my mistakes and putting the blame of God right? I'm so confused.
This was very informative. I know I am late to the party but, the points you made in this video were valid. I can't understand why God does what he does. Though I wish I could, it is not possible for good reason. Thanks for telling me.
This helps a lot ❤ great explanation and good luck to those who have incoming debates
Amen 🙏 thank you so so much Lord Jesus Christ for all that you have done/yet to do!! 😊
Amen! Great Video Brother Keep at it! 👏🏽❤️✝️
Providence has complete knowledge of creation presented to you each moment. Choice is yours to do what's best. 😊
An analogy ive come to use alot to understand this; is NPCs in a game with relatively advanced behavioral logic in place. I am a programmer and a game mod-maker, so its a concept I am familiar with.
basically, the programmer designed every line of the code that runs the npc logic; and there's not a single line of code he did not have a say in. However, these npcs are not scripted puppets- they still independently run their code and make different choices. A well-designed game allows the npcs to make a variety of different choices, even, but its not like the programmer himself is sitting at the office all day choosing what each npc will do each second. He designed the npc's logic, and what they are able to do, and decided what limits are in place, etc...but in the end, its the npcs which are making independent choices, just not outside of the limits of what the code is designed to be able to do.
likewise with God and Us. God decided exactly what our "code" is, its limits, its capabilities, etc..but he is not micro-managing every single thing we do.
Great honest humble presentation. Thank you.
Our spirits & will must have existed with God before time, and that information was written on our lives like a seed planted in time, so we are both free and predestined at the same time. We must not understand time yet.
this was a clever way to deflect the original question well done
It was a confusing matter for me... Thanks to clearing it ❤
