I remember “Merrie Melodies” when it was on WWOR-TV (channel 9) every weekday mornings along with “Mighty Mouse & Friends” and a few others that were in mornings. That brings back memories.
After “Merrie Melodies” was on WWOR-TV, it was later moved to WNYW-TV (channel 5) in 1992 when it was part of “Fox Kids” weekday afternoon block with “Tiny Toon Adventures” and “Batman: The Animated Series”.

I am 64 years old and have been purchasing my favorite cartoons from Amazon.
With all the new tv shows that the networks are airing, I would rather put in a DVD and watch my favorite cartoons.

Taft Broadcasting was the owner of WPHL-TV until 1991, which it used to be the parent company of Hanna-Barbera as Great American Broadcasting.

I know that Taft originally bought channel 29 until Fox bought it and began creating it's own network.
In time, FOX became the fourth major network.
I personally enjoyed the programs that they were airing instead of the same boring tv shows which didn't last long.

How many people over 50 would rather watch cartoons instead of most of the garbage that is shown on tv these days?
