Yeah, I love Mecha Anime and these games are a dream come true. I just wish we can get some more translated versions even though most people just play to make their dream teams and not so much for whatever weird plot they use. Glad it brought back memories for you.
I played SRW 4 first. Didnt know any japanese then and even now bit i was still able to finish it. It just blew my mind how all these franchises were in 1 game. A few years later i played the recent alpha games and saw wing zero in action, which was absolutely bad ass. This frachise will always have a place in my heart
What's most important to me in RPG are Story and Progression, so I have harder time enjoying the game if I can't read, even more so cause I would also need to understand what the skills does otherwise it's just a guessing game. That being said... I guess I was less strict with myself when I was a kid cause back than I also played alot of Japan only SRW games, SRW W was one of them, and I'm glad after 15 whole years there's finally a fan full English Translation for that game. Lol XD
Didn't know Unicorn plot appeared in NEO on Wii. You know, when only first OVA was dropped and Neo Zeong wasn't even planned. I am pretty sure that is supposed to be V.
You missed out the DS and PSP remakes of Super Robot Wars OG Saga: Masou Kishin The Lord of Elemental and using footage from Super Robot Wars V for Super Robot Wars Neo? Abit of an odd choice. Like D180223 mentioned be sure to credit those who's footage use and if you're gonna do a list of the games, at the very least do them in release order since Original Generations on PS2 came out 6 months before OG Gaiden.

Yap, too bad in the later years of the series, the ones that were release in the USA had several anime taking out of it, notably Macross due to licensing issues. Still, super fun.

Is there a way to play the English translations easily? I do have a 3ds and a Vita as well but this series is a lot to dive into now that i've been looking into it. Currently playing OG saga frontier on ds =) (my first but this series looks great)

Yah, I started to add them in future videos. Lots of them are on the SNES early on. Most of the later games are on playstation consoles. If you ever really want to know, just look up the title and it shouldn't be hard. Most are Japanese only due to licensing issues.
They are, if you mean the English ones. Just be sure to upgrade your mechs and pilots. If you use the main heroes and their skills, the game isn't really hard and for the most part pretty straight forward.

Not many, the latest ones are coming out in English though. The older ones for the nes/snes etc... have rom translations. The problem is the licensing issues with all the different series of Anime. Especially with Macross.
I just want a proper English translation of the complete box (SRW2, SRW3, SRW EX) F, F Final, Alpha Saga, A Portable, Impact and MX. All of those that were made with pixelart, looks the best imho
SRW 2,3,EX, Alpha Gaiden, Portable A have completed English translation also J, W, OG (PS2) have English translation with older graphic. Once you play few of them menu are the same and stories are in fan site so easy to follow, I bought all the official English sub games to support and got the rest of other games thru emulation.

Did you mean from? It is from the end of the video. One of the last games is a mobile app game that you collect characters. One of them being that version of the character.
Not many at all, most are fan translated from the SNES era down. Some PSX ones have been translated too. There are some new ones that have come out to PC that are in English though. A lot of it is just licensing issues with the Anime's involved. You wont be seeing any official Macross featured games coming out here in English. The "right's holder" for that in the US are scumbags.

I think there is a patched OG one for the dreamcast as well. You can in a very tedious way use OCR to translate, but good luck with that.

@Shadow Bringer I may have to update this sometime down the road. I was working off a list I found and it may not have had all the games after a 2019. I also messed up with one of the games an earlier comment mentioned (wrong video for game). I actually ran out of room on one hard drive with all the footage I got and then got a new hard drive like a month later so the videos were split into different folders, not fun.

I don't understand why they can't make these mechas to looks normal size, instead of that damn chibi look. Is disgusting and lazy. The only time they look normal size are in those super robot taisen OG Saga RPGs. They looks so badass there, but heck, in the rest of the games they look like generic chibi garbage.

Many reasons, it was an aesthetic choice at the time the series started, also literally copyright reasons regarding some franchises like Gundam where they had a literal SD lineup fror their franchise and not being possible to use the real sizes until SRW shin where they looked awful, also it helped make the job of working on animations for every unit which is why the series was well known at the time which is a hard thing to for every unit in the series, in fact the their proportions have been closer to their normal size over the years and they look fine in the current games. The OG Saga RPGs are made by a different studio with a very different budget, with a very different playstyle in mind, also most of the characters not being tied to a license as well.

This series, along with Another Century's Episode and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (technically) are the only anime crossovers I honestly enjoyed.
