  • What better way to take a train ride on the historic Snoqualmie Valley Railroad with you mom! Or in this case, watch.
This video is a bit different from the previous 924 videos, as I was attempting new spots to hopefully get more chugging out of 924. But alas the rain had to downpour every time the train was coming. Setting up the camera was perfectly dry, but otherwise... wet. The weather however did clear up in the end, which was a good sign.
Northern Pacific 924 is a "fully" restored steam locomotive after 6 and a half years of work. It's always neat to see 924 in action blasting down a once NP mainline between Snoqualmie falls and North Bend.

19:56 if you look to the right side of the video, the dog is watching the train!

My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🚃🚄🚅🚇🚈🚉🚊🚝🚞🚋🛤🚂 they're one of his favorite things in the whole world 🌎 and he is glad the Northwest Railroad Museum restored 924 to operation. He says that the name Snoqualmie Falls reminds him of the Milwaukee Road's line over the cascade mountains ⛰ and hopes that real soon or sooner than soon that the entire line over Snoqualmie Pass is rebuilt and used again for both freight and passenger trains. But he does not want that to be wishful thinking he wants it to be a reality! He really believes that if the line over Snoqualmie Pass is rebuilt it will be a relief valve for other parts of the US rail network and that people would flock to ride trains over it.

That US Air Force Baldwin RS4TC diesel locomotive has an amazing Nathan P5 horn.

It's an early P5, and is in great condition too. The only thing is after a while you get kinds tired of hearing it lol.

I work for this railroad, and my pet pev with that horn is that it sounds like a car horn unless all 5 chimes are sounding

@@KreativeKng | So do I, but we should both know that the reason we don't blow it all the way is because of the agreement of not waking everyone up in the houses around us as to not have people mad at us.

8:56 may I film at that spot in my November video? Just wanted to ask seen as you filmed here first.

I wouldn't advise it. That was a terrible spot, and it was way too close to the tracks. Not to mention the ground below is just a mushy mess and can't really see anything from that vantage point due to the tree and the old crossing box. It's better at this crossing if the train is going A. the other direction and B. when it's not rainy and slightly windy out. I would advise using the ballast rock mound by the crossing box considering you get a better view level wise. Otherwise yeah, I wouldn't do that spot ever again. The next 924 video when it runs (hopefully october-ish?) will focus more on basically what this one did, a test of different spots that'll get 924 running under its own steed (the chugging.)

@@Subpowerzero66 Oh btw, if you want chugging, I know a good spot for you! The train keeps going past gateway park, and there is a little area great for filming, and when I have been there, no whistle, just a load of chugs!

@@North_Cascade_Railfan | my level of where chugging is, is the corner of old highway 90, leaving both depots because of the takeoff, trestle bridge, when it passes by the niblock yard going to the falls, passing by history center and where they go by the Snoqualmie falls depot.
