- My favourite rendition of this immortal carol. Merry Christmas everyone, hope y'all spend quality time with your family and I wish you all the best!
This is the Christmas Truce of 1914
Sad that we can’t exactly have a truce with the virus right now. :(
@@emitain8408 ye
Sorry to be annoying but the christmas truce was between British and Germans. Belgians and French were being occupied and fired machine guns at any German trying peace
Ideally with us in America 🇺🇸 as well.
God is wonderful and let's see what is possible with a civil society that grows with a moral backbone.
@@gam08e85 actually the truce happened and all fronts the French also joined however yes most Belgians didn't participate maybe because they're people were getting gxnocided :/.
🇩🇪 🇦🇹 🇫🇷 🇫🇷 May Peace reign in Europe, From Germany to France and everywhere else.
Edit: Merry Christmas 2021! 🤝
Yep, I'm proud that France and Germany are basically best friends now ❤
Well Germany and France were United during Charlemagne's reign, so they are family.
@@Diegomax22 France and German DNA is basically the same in research and it's called the French/German haplogroup because they are the same people
@Nebuchadnezzar V 𖤓 wrong, the frankish kingdom split into 3, west francia (france), middle francia (burgundy which doesnt exist anymore), and east francia (german states).
Soon to be Merry Christmas 2023. God bless you my friend from New Jersey and the Philippines.
I still remember this word for word from my 8th grade French class. I'm almost 63.
Same! 😊
I'm 83 and I still remember it from my French class too
May all of you have a Merry Christmas and a happy 2024! Love to all from USA.
love from berlin 1945- signed soviets!
Ah those songs are always so relaxing
Hi
@La Pucelle bonjour
Comment ça va?
I love how the two Korean translations of Holy Night (Catholic and Protestant) differ in such a way French and German ones do; Catholic one goes “성탄, 성탄” just like “Noël, Noël” and Protestant one goes “오 거룩한 밤” just like “O heil'ge Nacht”
So interesting! Thanks for the insight.
That’s interesting
not sure if it was intentional or not, but 'o heil'ge nacht' is Dutch, not German
though I must add, the difference is one letter haha
@@nicksingh8061still a German phrase.
This is what we sing in Alsace.
This is what I needed Ingen. Some relaxing Christmas music that I haven't heard. Thank you Ingen. Merry Christmas.
found you inthe wild
@@gammeling lmao
I find the differences between the lyrics fascinating
*WISH YOU ALL MERRY CHRISTMAS* !!! ❤❤❤😀😀😀🎆🎆🎇🎇🎉🎉🎊🎊
..... Grandioso y mil felicidades, desde República Dominicana 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
It's not Christmas yet but I am learning French and have always wondered what French hymns sounds like, this is just perfect and beautiful, I can't wait to listen again when Christmas comes along.
i'll never forget spending christmas night in baghram AFB after i was sent along with my friend to do a prisoner transfer and they played this after the english version and....something just felt different about it...i was a 22 year old kid, out in a country i probably couldnt find on a map if i wanted to, serving my country because that's just what my family's done since the civil war and i'll just never forget how special this song felt and realizing how precious life was
Merry Christmas my fellow Europeans. Shall it always be peace in Europe
Un incontournable
This is beautiful in all three languages!! Thank you!
French and German, Western/Central europes most dominant 🇫🇷🇨🇭🇩🇪🇦🇹🇧🇪🇱🇮

French,German Song (1850) (1890)
Merry Christmas.
Holy shit. That swell in the end of the German one. Got dam. I cried.
Maravillozo
Joyeux Noël ! Merry Christmas everyone! Ingen, just one problem. I think that in 1:13 it's Attend ta délivrance, not attends, because it says people on their knees await your deliverance, which means that the subject of await is the people ie third person singular (le peuple). So, its suffix has to be in that same person as well. Attends is first/second person singular, while attend is the 3rd person.
No, the original text reads "attends ta délivrance" with the added s, so therefore it shall be attends.
@@minimomario9989 that's weird. Maybe it's this way in some older version of French.
It is called "impératif présent" one of the grammatical rules in French. So yes there is a yes, but do not worry it is quite difficult to learn!
S not yes
@@rachelpltx7398 I know the "impératif" but I think that for it to be applied, we would need no subject to be apparent and a 2nd person singular meaning. Here, we have the apparent subject being "le peuple", which is in the 3rd person plural. How can you use the "impératif" this way?
Merry Christmas!
Can you do these Serbian songs after Christmas and new year is over?

Voici la Rédempteur! 🥲🥹
How sweet is that phrase?
That the King of the universe came here to be born among us, to live and die so that we, deserving of death and damnation for our sins, might be redeemed to have eternal life

Probably people who dislike either French of German, or someone who hates the other side lmao
Or just people who hate Christmas I guess
