Here's one of my favourite songs from Huey Lewis & The News Fore! album. I tried to play pretty much exactly as Bill Gibson's original performance but in the end, I played a couple of different fills. I used the Moises app to remove the original drums so you are hearing my drum mix.

I noticed an interesting thing you do when your hitting the snare, you hit it in time and then you hit it again ever so slightly, is that a conscience thing you do? At least it looks that way.
BTW your drumming is effortless, like a metronome, it was a pleasure to watch you.
I wish I took up drumming, it amazes me how focused you have to be, but make it look easy.

Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to my channel! I hit "ghost notes" after the loud snare hits to make the groove flow better. Check out Jeff Porcaro's Rosanna for example and what he's doing with his left hand. On the original track, there is some kind of overdubbed hi-hat that plays triplets, I'm trying to do the same thing with these ghost notes and playing shuffle with my right hand.
You can still begin to play drums....it's fun :)

Yes I'm familiar with jeffs' work. He learned that shuffle from bernard purdie. The shuffle master....👍😊
