Winter wonderland for sure Elizabeth, this is just stunning, I love the colours and design, beautiful frosty card, thank you so much for your inspiration 💖
Thank you Linda... yes, I think that doing the samples like that, makes it a bit more "tidy" if you know what I mean.... I'm actually a very tidy person, even though my art is kinda "messy"...hehe love, E 💙
I use Winsor & Newton, both tubes and 1/2 pans, but you could use any brand. The different brands have the same colours/names, more or less... I also have some Rembrandt 1/2 pans. The main difference of the brands are the viscosity and pigment, but if you use reputable brands they are very similar. I must say, I do prefer tubes, tho.... hope this helps... much love E 💙
Hi, I love this technique and it looks lovely but I don’t think mine would look like this if I had a go lol, it would possibly end up in the bin…why are we so critical of our own work …😔
Hi there Julie...Please, don't put yourself down...!! The salt technique is all about how salt react with water/colour and the paper, and to master the effect, you need to know when to add the salt.... That is why I suggest you make a swatch before doing it on the actual card. Then you can see how the salt reacts with the different colours and also the wetness of the paper. The dryer the paper is, the less effect you get, so it all depends on what effect you want... I use salt technique in many creations, and a starry nightsky needs a drier paper than this snowy effect I've made on this card.... But when useing salt, you will ALWAYS get a nice result (if the paper hasn't dried up....)Please, please give it a try,- it is soooo much fun, and you'll love the texture/effect...(the film doesn't do the actual card justice...) And if you like, PM me, and I will answer every question... Much love, Elisabeth 💙
