As swide mentioned, this hobby isn’t a cheap one to begin with lol. But you do make a good point. I would call something like the kbd67lite a true budget entry keyboard. Although the ~200 USD for the qk65 is still considered relatively “cheap” in this hobby, I’d put it closer mid range boards rather than budget. Once again, I am not suggesting that this board is bad or overvalued in anyway, rather my opinion on the price.
the board punches WAY above its price range compared to other boards. it may sound like gate keeping but the hobby itself is really expensive for anything of high quality
Yeah a lot of people have made the same points so I won’t repeat what they said, except for a little analogy. If you’re looking for a budget piano, you’re looking at around $1000 dollars. Is it cheap? No. But is it budget? Yes. “Budget” has context, “cheap” and “expensive” doesn’t. That being said, imo the board does classify as a budget board, because in context with the rest of the hobby, it is on the lower end of the spectrum in terms of price. Sure it may seem expensive to some, but in context it really is a budget board
qk65 is a keyboard ive been wanting to get my hands on. But tbh the keycaps are doing it for me

I love how you switch up in your sound test to show the sound in realtime and also making it sound clean! How do you record audio without background noise?
Haha thanks! For my main mic, I use audacity. 50% recording volume along with the gain dial to around 3oclock. Afterwards I add +14 db. For the recording environment, I try my best to keep things quiet. Turning off AC, turning off pc fans etc.
A few things I wanted to mention:
- The title does not suggest that this keyboard is bad or overvalued in any way. In fact, I think it’s amazing, I address this near the end. It’s just a reflection of my opinion regarding the price.
-Intro clip is a bit scuffed, I had the settings wrong mb
-Still getting used to using a gimbal so excuse the slight shaking lol

Yea these are the best clone manufacturer ive seen but wish they would get the legends a bit crisper and smaller then they would be perfect. Needs novs but i get ehy they dont.

What do you prefer? The qk65 or the keychron q2? I know the keychron isn’t considered entry but what do you prefer?
I believe the price difference between the two is around $45 USD shipped (to where I live at least). Considering the arguably better materials, aesthetics, customizability and features, I’d say the price jump is reasonable. If you have the budget, go for the qk65 however the q2 is also an amazing keyboard!
Qk65 is great in quality. The work budget is misleading, because it's used to refer to the fact that you are getting a lot for what you are paying. Even though it seems like you are paying more for qk65, you have to consider the fact that you are getting owlslab stabilt, carry case, and good quality foam and silicone as well as stainless weight, not to mention the diverse color customization particularly in the upcoming round 2. If your budget allows, I highly recommend qk65 over q2. Unless you really need a knob, then you can take a look at zoom65. I personally prefer qk65 though. Think of it like a VEGA 65% keyboard except at a much lower price and comes with lots of goodies.

12:15 Nope, If you are in Asia, the shipping price is really cheap. I ordered from local vendor and I only have to pay for shipping locally in my country, which is maybe about $1 - $2. No international shipping fee at all.
Ah I see, thanks for sharing, I think I meant to say oceania. Like new zeland and australia. Turboards mentioned that he paid around $50 for shipping I think

still an incredible budget board, runs circles around everything else in its category (excluding the bakeneko) like the keychrons and the gmmk pro, maybe not endgame but youre not gnna get better value in the budget market right now

@@titanz9071 you don't get stainless weight with q4. Q4's steel plate won't sound as good as PC/pom/fr4 plate available with qk65. The stabilizers and foam/silicone layers included with qk are higher quality. Not to say q4 is bad, but qk65 is an overall better product.

I'd prefer to spend a little more on this qk65 which is made of aluminum instead of kbd67lite that for 50 dollar less is only cheap plastic.
Once again, that is only concerning price without shipping. I was able to get a kbd67 lite from kbdfans off aliexpress for around $116 USD shipped. Compared to the 227 USD for my qk65, it’s a lot more than just a $50 difference
@@YBBK ah sure I just typed on Ali kbd67lite and it’s showing 142€+ shipping 15€, but I’m in Italy that’s why.
Btw with the new gas67 I guess that good keyboards are getting cheap.
The kbd67lite r4 is currently in group buy for a discounted price of 99 usd + around 30 USD (to canada) shipping brining the total to around $130 USD assuming no import fees. It’s still close to a 100 USD difference.

those clones made by aifei are pretty nice for the money, but the modifiers are so horrible. if they fix the molds so the modifier legends look better then they would be so rivalling epbt.

@@ethantang7558 the molds aren't the best so the text on them is weird and inconsistent. look at the backspace, enter or code keys on the closeup shots at the start of the video

@@ethantang7558 They're the same mold that Polycaps use on their Whale set, you can check the inconsistencies there
no sound test without PE… it’s nice but without it better to hear how the keyboard actually sounds not another pe foam board
With this board I aimed to match the jelly epoch sound since it is essentially from owlabs. My intention was to compare the gasket material rather than the foam configurations as there are already a ton of those on youtube.
