    the sensei has a couple of advantages: 1. you missed this one, he can use wisdom for hitting chance bonus (other classes use strength or dexterity using feats) 2. you can more easily renounce having a bard all the time, although bards make for really good skill monkeys and get a few unique spells

    halfling only works if you make a weapon monk and multiclass into Rogue/Knife master with Sais. they get dex to damage at 3rd level.

    So when I first started the game I didn't notice Scaled Fist needed Charisma so I dumped it. I couldn't use any of my new 3rd level abilities and had no Ki pool. Is this because I had a negative charisma modifier? Thanks!

    What are the differences one could expect between str vs dex builds? Should they also look into different feats?

    • @ZautosMC
      @ZautosMC  5 років тому +2

      dex builds need weapon fineness (unarmed strikes) and to have agile on an amulet of mighty fist.

      @@ZautosMC does weapon fineesse work with unarmed strike?

    Nice vid. Thanks. =) I cant decide between regular monk and scaled fist. Some hints for a newbie? Best would be when one of them gets more active abilities because I dont like that the only thing my main char knows is autohitting. xD

    • @ZautosMC
      @ZautosMC  5 років тому

      Go with the normal one and dump cha.
      Buff before combat when you can.
      Monks do not have a lot of use abilities. they have stunning fist and ki powers that can be.
      wis are good for those abilities.

    • @Zargan2
      @Zargan2 5 років тому

      Mhm..Could it be a good idea to take a second class to get some healing stuff or so? Ah and...I'm in trouble with str, dex and wis. I did 17 str, 15 dex and 16 wis. Is this ok? Got the feeling that the dex could be to low and my miss chance will increase too much. I'm not a optimizer. It just should work well. ^^ Dont like to dump other stats. It will be the "correct way" but it feels for unknown reason some kind of wrong. xD

    • @ZautosMC
      @ZautosMC  5 років тому

      The problem right now with your stats is that odd numbers don't help you at all.
      At level 4 you can increase the 17 to an 18.
      Your miss chance? Miss chance is from conditional stuff like some spells like the blur.
      You're to hit bonuses are from STR. if you don't pick feats to change that. With your stats, you should not get those feats.

  • @sogjdk

    Could you explain how flurry of blows work exactly? What is a full attack action? I just picked up the game, so I am a complete noob :>

    • @ZautosMC
      @ZautosMC  5 років тому +2

      A full attack action is something that takes up your whole round.
      So if you move up to an enemy you can't full attack in the same round.
      around is 6 seconds. It would have been alot clearer if they had used a turn based combat system insteadz

    • @christofferhougaard
      @christofferhougaard 5 років тому

      From what i remember you should be able to take a 5 foot step then make a full attack action.

  • @anthonyrolli435
    @anthonyrolli435 5 років тому

    This is probably a dumb question, but a 3-4 levels of rogue for sneak attack isn't a bad idea right?

    • @ZautosMC
      @ZautosMC  5 років тому

      Sneak attack is extremely good in this game.
      i would go 1 or 4 levels.
      Debilitating injury is extremely good.

    • @michaellawrence5436
      @michaellawrence5436 4 роки тому

      You also can make a Dex build then that dumps Strength and have your Dex modifier to your damage, even when if you dual wield.

    Dont go halfling and gnome. They are small and deal lower dmg (d4)

    • @ZautosMC
      @ZautosMC  5 років тому +6

      they have lower damage but greater to hit and ac because of there small size.
      The largest dice damage difference is at level 20 most likely.
      2d10 vs 2d8. The average damage is 11 and 9
      If you can deal 11 damage with your attack and have a 70% chance to hit your average damage would be 7.7.
      9*0.75=6.75 So a difference of one damage. But there is more to damage then dice and there is more than one attack.
      flurry of blows with elbow smash
      20/20/20/15/15/15/10/5
      Target AC is 25
      I remove the 5 bab attacks because the bonus is so small and makes the math harder.
      With no bonus to damage.
      The difference is 4 more for the medium monk.
      With a bonus 5, it's 2.4 for the medium monk.
      With a bonus 10, it's 4 for the medium monk.
      With a bonus of 15, the small monk has a damaged lead of 1.6
      How to get +15 damage.
      Stat +10 (Stat 20 start + 5 levels + 5 item)
      Item +5 (amulet of mighty fist +5)
      So the small monk can easily deal more damage than the medium monk.

    • @ZautosMC
      @ZautosMC  5 років тому +3

      AC is Armor class how hard it is for someone to hit you.
      10+Dex mod + armor bonus + size mod + some other bonuses.
      DC is how hard it is for an enemy to avoid one of your spells.
      10+ int mod + spell level + some other things for a wizard spells.
