I was fortunate enough for so many years to spend Christmases at my mother's house with all 6 of us siblings, plus children and mates One Christmas, as we were all preparing to leave, my mother had us take a photo of each of us getting a big hug from her. I treasure that picture so much because she is now gone and I'm so happy we got to do it.
Great idea about the individual photos! Hopefully we will be able to have our planned family reunion in July and I will do it then. We will have 4 generations together, hopefully. For Mother's Day, none of us will be able to be together. I will call my Mom, but I call her every night. We have been having a family video chat with our four children on Sundays since the pandemic started, so hopefully we will all be present on Mother's Day for that. Thanks for all the great ideas, encouragement, videos, projects , and inspiration!
I'll be celebrating Mother's Day on Zoom with my son, granddaughter, daughter-in-law (1,000 miles from us), and maybe my daughter will be brave and join us. Your suggestion is beautiful. I can't think of a photo of myself with either of my parents or grandparents. They've been deceased for quite a few years but I now have grandchildren and one great-grandson so when I can I'll be taking photos as per your suggestion.
At 81 years, I am the oldest person in our family. I am also the photographer and rarely IN any photos. Since I am isolated in Florida right now and most of my family is in Michigan our photo session will have to wait a few months, but we WILL have one!
Yay, Laura! Good for you! I can relate about being the photographer. Thankfully Charlie is great about taking a photo if I ask him to or I set up a camera on a tripod and we get a time release photo. 😁
My Mum died 16 1/2 years ago but for the 18 years we lived in the same town once I married, we shared Mothers Day with her. Before digital, not too many photos unfortunately, but I do have some. My adult children are scattered far and wide so even without the Pandemic, we would not be together. But we will definitely have a family video chat and it will be wonderful to see them all. I do miss them.
Kids have a way of moving away and our world changes without them for sure. Thanks for sharing about your Mum. I'm learning what it's like to only have the photos and memories and the stories left.

Oh my gosh! That was such a great move on her part-what a treasure to have that photo! Thanks for sharing that wonderful idea. ‼️

Wow-4 generations! That sounds like an awesome gathering!
