Paul was a man like us but him being inspired by the Holy Spirit he preached the Word of God to many churches and his letters became the Word of God because they were inspired preachings
This is what you get when we adore all the so called preachers for their 5:14intellectual grasp of the word of God like what Pastor Otabil is doing here. The gospel is not about the making over of man by our preaching about good and evil. It's Christ in you the hope of glory.
Imagine the lady Paul cast out the spirit of divination from had been allowed to stay and join the church because her prophecies were accurate. Wouldn't the church people then celebrate her. Some will even esteem her above the elders of the church. Some years ago a similar thing happened in our church but my dad called our senior pastor's attention to it. My dad told him that the woman was posessed with the spirit of divination and needs the demon to be cast out else she pollutes the church. When this was done the woman saw nothing, heard nothing and prophesied nothing again. Finally when the woman couldn't operate again she left the church. Except there we have discerning men around we will allow even Satan himself to stand in our pulpit to preach, so long as he demonstrates powers.
Being a spiritist is not the same as being biblically spiritual. Spiritism asserts the universality of spirit communication: a thing not at all countenanced in God's word. Biblical spirituality, at its core, refers to a life of discipleship intentionally lived in personal relationship with God through Christ by the Spirit. Every blessing.

When praying, making word declaration, casting out devils and healing the sick with scriptures from the bible. Will the utterances used be termed as my interpretations or will be word of God? If it my interpretation, will the demons obey and leave. Or if I am praying and I quote a scripture, will it been seen by God as my interpretation of his word? That's our reality in the African theology.....we have a problem and we know we have given the power by Christ to overcome through our authority in Christ. But it is well
On the issue of not preaching the word, one thing the HOLY SPIRIT taught me is to always try to avoid controversies in teaching his word. I think the best thing we ought to do is to preach LOVE, REPENTANCE and ETERNITY through our LORD JESUS CHRIST where ever we find ourselves, this is not to say we should disregard any justifiable cleanup exercise in the CHURCH. If you could have a video to talk on true prohetic ministry backing them with possibly some videos of true and false prophetic operation and in your discussion explain how the true prophetic operation agrees with scriptures and distinct from false operation. This is a big problem in the church today. I pray for people who are supposed to be Christains and they want you to give them concussions to drink or give then amulets to wear for protection. It's Soo insane, they dont believe the name of Jesus anymore. Even if you pray for them for healing just by declearing in the name of Jesus and the condition is gone they still dont believe until you give them something to drink our apply on their body 😅

The destiny of Christianity is not in Africa. God shall build his church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Blaming followers for pastors who give in to their own lust is just stupidity. Blame the pastors not the followers. If you follow God, you cannot be enticed by your followers but your lust to show power using other means. There is power in the name of Jesus. Mensah Otabil needs to sit down and study his Bible. The gospel will be preached not by leaders who blame followers for their own fleshly lusts. The God we serve still performs miracles in the name of Jesus alone.
When other ministers start speak his motivational messages he won't take it lightly.........I maintain whenever we get the opportunity we should try to balance our messages Jesus who is our perfect example..... mention demons than any other person in the Bible, Paul warn against spiritual warfare Peter talked about the devil That is it make them spiritist He should come again......
I respect Dr Otabil as teacher of the word though he is not perfect and so are his teachings but his understanding of scriptures is very deep. However, he needs to focus on.perversions/abuse and not talk as if spirituality and power are not part and parcel of Christianity, they are both the signature of Christianity, if we remove power and spirituality, everything becomes hollow and pure theology and philosophy which is not bible Christianity. Also, the prophetic ministry, power ministry and the operation of the five fold ministry of which teaching is just one of them is what the new testament is all anout. While I agree that there are perversions of the prophetic and power ministry, there are also heretic teachers as well, what we need to do is for us to present biblical.truths about all these to.people so they are sound in faith and won't be deceived.but to deny people the benefits of all gifts and graces available in the church because of abuse is an unbalanced teaching with all due respect. If everything about God and Christianity can be explained and analyzed then God is not God, it is only what is revealed that we can understand for we all know in part and prophesy also in part. Also, I think saying that pentecostalism was lead by illiterate is an attempt to discredit it but unfortunately it didn't as God has never been out for intellectuals exclusively, infact most of his moves were spearheaded by illiterates before spreading to others, the early Apostles were said to be unlearned but they were said to have been with Jesus as their only credentials which made their unlearned inconsequential. The Gospel.is for all and God uses who.is available per time and the educational qualifications even though it has its place is not a criteria for God in chosing who will spearhead His move at anytime.
I don't fully agree with Dr Mensa... There needs to be a balance in his message. If the African brand of Christianity is high on spirituality, it came to a people whose cultures were neck deep in spiritism. You can't use Orthodox or European brand of Christianity to tackle that. Even from the biblical perspective, ✓God knew the magicians of Egypt had rods so he sent Moses with a rod. ✓He also knew the prophets of Baal commanded fire in their rituals so he sent Elijah with a superior authority to command fire. ✓In the book of Acts, Simon the Sorcerer believed when he saw Power demonstration. Paul said I become all things to all people to win them to Christ. In some ways, Christianity has to take the shape of the people its meant to deliver You can't win the average African without power. Yes, there are excesses, sometimes to the extreme but the fact remains, power is a necessity.
