Thanks for the video! Well explained. I just can't believe Camaros are offered without this feature from the factory... If it was Malibu, or Cruze I could understand, many people park them on the street. But Camaros? Majority of them should be somewhere either inside, or at least behind the gate.... And I doubt that was a very expensive option to put on a car....
Thank you!! I don’t recommend solder here, as over time, solder becomes brittle. OEM Harnesses are all pins crimped onto wires and pushed into a plastic housing. None of those connections are soldered. This was something I learned long ago when I worked at Delphi and had my MECP certification. There are scenarios where solder is a better option, but it’s not necessary here.
Thanks! Yes, you can mount the HomeLink kit anywhere there is room for it. You may have to find a more unconventional spot, but plenty of options in the car.
The harness doesn’t yet exist on their site. If you look in the description, I provide the email for them to send them a request for the HomeLink harness, as seen on my video. You can also call them and ask to speak to Jarod. Gen5DIY.com in their site.

Agreed. The previous 16-18 models had it available, and then they killed the option with 2019+
I got the garage door opener in the overhead console but Im still gonna watch this
I love that! Hopefully I don’t put you to sleep 😅
Great video! Only thing I would have done different is soldered the wires instead of butt connectors.

@@FollowMyLine17 done correctly (mechanical connection plus solder) my experience is soldering is much better than a crimp connector.
Is there a 12v wire inside the panel to tap into even with a sunroof button?
You may be able to tap into the sunroof button wiring. You may want to check each wire with a meter.
Great vid. Like always. Will this work for a convertible?
