This is definitely a very respectable biscuits and gravy recipe. Looks delicious. The southern fat kid in me uses my old leftover bacon grease we keep in our fridges to add some more grease. Whole milk, half & half, or if you want to be crazy heavy cream make the gravy amazing. I know what I'm making for dinner tonight now

Yes,I agree. At least half a cup. I hate seeing recipes where a certain measurement is given but the actual amount used is not even close. Whats up with that????

This looks about right. I think it should be thick enough that you could pour it out of the pan. My GF thinks it should be thick enough to use to fill your nail holes in the drywall.

Bout what temp should we fry our flour on as not to burn it? For example, my oven is glass electric like yours, and the numbers go 1-10. What would you say to put it on for the flour?

You had a metal cup and added 1/4 cup of flour. Then you added TWO more. So that recipe that 3/4 cup of flour, not 1/4th of a cup.

Looks great, but here's a different method. First, try to find sausage that has enough fat so it produces enough grease to make the gravy. Form sausage into patties and fry. Remove the patties from the pan.
Add flour to the grease in the pan, one tablespoon at a time, and stir it in until it reaches the consistency shown in the video. Count the number of tablespoons of flour added. Brown the flour for at least two minutes.
Add one-half cup of milk for each tablespoon of flour you added. Salt and pepper as you wish. It should begin to thicken as it reaches the boiling point. Reduce the heat at this point. Add a small amount of water if it begins to get too thick. Taste for proper salt and pepper. Serve.
The advantages of this method are that you wind up with separate sausage patties and you are able to measure the proper amount of milk to add. Is this method better? Nah, just different. It's a matter of preference.
