As a Cardinals fan I believe Kingsbury and Steve Keim really held him back, and gave him the bad rep he got, now that he has a real GM and Coach he's going to really surprise people, but thats just my opinion
Scheme is super important, and up until recently, the schemes he's played in hasn't done him any favors. His raw ability alone has gotten him far, but he does need to take that next step to be considered great. It's a super important year for him to show up.
Honestly might be. He’s always one of my favorites to watch. He is legitimately good. And his insane cannon of an arm is just so funny to me because he looks so tiny. But he’s really impressive
Kyler had to play hero ball under Kliff. Now he's got a well rounded offense with real targets and a strong run game. If their defense can get some stops they'll be a tough matchup.
I do think that people forget that Kyler had Kliff as his coach when he was a 2x pro bowler and OROTY. He’s realistically only gonna get better with this new coaching staff.
The Cardinals have made major steps on the defensive side of the ball. I just wish a lot of the fans would lose their hatred for the team and open their eyes and look at the players we've drafted and brought in on free agency. I'm excited because we're winning the West, there I said it
all i know is the only 8 weeks of his career he had an even average roster he was an MVP cancidate. Dude has worked with bottom 3 rosters for 4 1/2 of his 5 years. no qb has worked with less in this league who has been even relatively succesful. and its not close.
@@Nick-wm7wr not even close actually. slater is a better lineman than he ahs ever had. herbet has had better wr play than he has ever had. the defense has been bad but on those chargers rosters still like 20th-23rd every year. not bottom 3.
Cardinals defense's EPA/Play last year was tied for the worst in the league with the Commanders and they gave up the second most points only to the commanders. In 2022 they were also second to last in points, that year to the Bears. Even going all the way back to his rookie year in 2019 they were bottom 5 in the league in points given up defense. The year before kyler was drafted they had a league worst offense and by a large margin. Every year Kylers been with the team they've had a middling to top of the league offense in all major metrics when Kyler was on the field. What's my point? Trevor Lawrence gets all this grace (As does Herbert, and Sam Darnold did before either of them) because of the team that drafted him, but Kyler was arguably handed a just as bad if not s worse franchise, yet he doesn't seem to get the excuses made for him, people just dismiss him as some mid tier over paid injury prone QB. Now he may be over paid and injury prone, but if you actually watch the tape he's never looked mid tier, even in his rookie season he was putting up highlight after highlight, you just didn't see it because because he had the worst offensive line in football, a bad coach, and no WR1 on the roster, plus an awful defense that never got stops for him. Long story short, I don't know that the Cardinals have improved enough that he'll truly make noise this season, and now that his contract has kicked in its hard to see them ever actually getting over the hump, but I do think Kyler is the most under rated QB in the league right now, and easily could make the Cardinals a dark horse this season where many are still expecting them to compete for a top draft pick. It's all about can he stay healthy. I don't know that he can, but man is he incredible at at the QB position when he is.
He had to play a lot of hero ball under kliff and I just don’t see him being injured this season, if anything he might miss a game or two but most teams starting qbs miss games because it’s 17 games. I see us going 8-9 or 9-8 and maybe getting to the playoffs. Depends on the rest of the league. Green Bay made it last year at 9-8 so it’s certainly possible.
Thank you very much for giving the Cardinals some airtime. This team is going to be a lot better than people give them credit for in a two-year span we have changed the lineup and the culture of this team. Maybe some of the fans and the media can stop hating on the Cardinals and actually give them some props. I'm excited about this coming season
Kyler has a team now. Since he’s been in AZ, he’s had to play as the hero. If Murray magic doesn’t happen , cards lose. Now he can be himself and play to his strengths
As a Texans fan I went to the game where we played the Cardinals I think they are are going to be a competitive team this year. I think they might be a year away until they reach the playoffs. Last year you can tell the players bought into Ganon and his vision and they were actually playing hard for him and Kyler played some good football since he came back The Cardinals problem they play in a though division but I wouldn’t be shocked if they be a six or seven win team this upcoming season and upset the Rams and other teams this season
People forget K1 is a generational talent. Drafted #1 overall in NFL after a Heisman Trophy season AND drafted in the 1ST ROUND of the MLB draft…. Steve Keim was just a dumbass and hired a losing head coach in college to try and become a winning franchise… hopefully things work out for K1. Now he has real leaders around him to keep him grounded and he has faced more adversity I’m sure he thought he would to start his career.
The GM and head coach were terrible and couldn’t build a roster . Now we have a legit roster and it will only get better watch Kyler be top 5 wait on it .
Man ur explanation as to why Kyler didn’t see the blitz is lame asf. The db is showing blitz, Kyler can change the protection or if he notice the db or LB blitzing throw to the open area. Yea the play was still completed but the better QBs see the blitz pre snap and adjust.
I've been a cardinals fan my whole life n he Murry won a hiesman at our but this ain't college he's a great athlete and does well in the regular season in crunch time in the NFL he falls apart.... college he was superman in the spotlight. He loved huge meaningful games confrence, and bowl games.... in the NFL since we drafted him in big games postseason and good teams he can't keep his composure
Thank you for being 💯 percent honest about Kyler. He is great but he does have downfalls to his game. Im glas you look at it from all sides instead of bringing old stuff like people still do. Like him playing video games and that dumb clause in his contract, clearly Keim had issues with Kyler. Keim tried to ruin him even though Keim and Kliff were the problem.
For me, he had 2 years of proving himself, and he got trounced the 1st round playoff every year, he could not read more complicated defense fast enough and prone to make hero ball plays, the lost against the rams in the year 2021 January was the reason why i have to be cautious
Every year? He’s only played in 1 playoff game. He won OROY, is a 2x Pro Bowler, and was the MVP frontrunner in 2021 for most of the season. Kliff’s system wasn’t designed to make in-depth reads. It was mostly mesh concepts where you have a single read or you run the ball. The loss against the Rams came when he had the lingering ankle injury and no DHop. Not fair to assess him based on that. I’ve watched basically every game of his career. The guy is electric. He’s a dynamo. Comeback POY material.
I seriously hate mfs that don’t watch shit but still wanna talk shit about said thing. He only went to the playoffs once my guy, where are these “got trounced the 1st round playoff every year” coming from?!. Let’s also not forget dude was working with a gm who took 2 middle linebackers in back 2 back first round and one of them was the 8th pick.
@@Wrong_Hand_Drivethe first playoff game isn’t only on Murray at all😂 the whole team folded clear as day. I have a vivid memory Max Garcia getting thrown into his lap on literally the first drive. Just hearing the culture shock from Kliff to Gannon from the players tell me is they weren’t like other playoff teams from a mentality and doing the right thing standpoints.
With tiny-tot Murray at QB ....AZ went 7 loses to only 3 wins in 2023...not good At the end of his overpaid contract....he will be traded for a 4th round pick. Vegas bookies have AZ ranked as 26th with Murray as QB....bad.
I swear Kyler is one of the most hated qbs of all time 😂. Thanks for covering Murray 🙏 hope he proves everyone wrong

Fully agree. I’m making a video series on TikTok about how they held him back
Yeah bruh I’m buying a couple of Kyler Rookie cards hoping to 10x .

Kyler is the most underrated quarterback in the NFL. Came back from an acl injury and played good football. Only certain types of people can do that.
Most underrated qb in the league
