Tungsten is incredibly expensive and only needed to take out armour. This is more likely rough steel balls. Cheap and no less destructive on soft targets.
Not especially expensive, the problem is more that tungsten is 3x the weight of steel- very effective as a projectile, but the warhead is only 1/3 the size for the same mass. It still could be tungsten; it's just an engineering problem and not insurmountable.
Tungsten's density makes it a worthwhile choice. All other things being equal, a tungsten projectile will maintain initial velocity longer, travel farther and carry more energy to impact. It's called sectional density. With an explosive charge vs a gun, there is plenty of excess energy involved too,so initial mass is less an issue and the surplus is still blast. Depleted uranium is even cheaper and better ballistically but comes with minor environmental, and major political problems.
So on Civ Div's youtube page, his video last week "Why we left the Ukraine frontline" they show some footage of them making drones. Right before the 10 minute mark they've got this giant box of pellets that they're taping onto the outside of their drone. Neat little peak behind the curtain.
I think that he is saying that none of HIS unit were hurt. At 1.50 he is saying, "In these two tents, there would be &&&&&&& people for sure." As I know only too well, you have to understand the meaning in these Slavic languages which might not be the meaning in a direct translation into English. I think that he was saying that there WERE people in THOSE two tents AT THE TIME OF THE ATTACK. It appears that by chance large numbers of the recruits had been moved a short time before, possibly only hours earlier or maybe a day or so but nothing to do with the attack but in those two tents in particular, there would have been people. Regular soldiers appear to be there all the time. He says that the RECRUITS had been moved. This attack happened on November 3rd but this footage got released on November 7th which indicates the soldier probably released it after being relocated. I highly doubt there was no casualties however with a long range drones you can hear is from quite a distance away, that's why missiles are much more effective at hitting targets that could relocate at moments notice.
@@brookwhiteman9810 True .... but would you want to pick up on the faintest sound of mosquitoes in the distance getting closer and closer.?
