The thing about the aim9L at this br is that almost every plane has an extremely hot afterburner so you can flare all you want but if you dont cut afterburner that missile is gonna slap you out of the air, also the 25mm ADEN is actually quite a good gun it has 1400m/s velocity with ground belts from the HVAP round.
Yeah. I have had a couple times where I used all my countermeasures because of like 3 aim9Ls. God the Aim-9L is like the best IR missile in the game rn
cut your AB all you want, it still hits you from rear aspect. you basically have to shut off your engine and pray it cools down enough by the time the L reaches you
@@nodubstephere1008 it's extremely helpful actually if you nose dive from the sun and the enemy can't lock onto you but you can lock onto him makes him dodge the missile and boom you're on his 6 and are able to kill him easily with canons or simply another missile
1:02, little fun fact, the av-8 is capable of super sonic flight in a full dive, as long as you have nothing more than AA missiles, the av-8 with bombs will rip the wings as soon as you hit mach, but take off the bombs and you can hit mach 1.04-1.06. idk about the harrier, but it seems the gr.7's wing wobble alot more at mach 0.90 than the av-8. i like going into air rb with my av-8a, climbing up to 30k feet, and diving onto people, noone expects the vtol going over mach
Flares, Chaff, 30G missiles and somehow Gaijin thinks it makes sense that the regular Harrier GR.1 without any of that should be facing aircraft at 11.00 as well.... Very nice...

Well last update they were very unreliable. This is deliberate buff they made for this update. I'm not saying they won't dial them back a bit, but they did make them this good on purpose.

In fact, buffing the 9Ls actively makes the Su-25 weaker as it fights the A-10. They just fuck with the balance of stuff every patch. I imagine they will tone them back a little bit, but they are definitely way closer to the performance Gaijin wants from them right now than they were last patch.

@@johnbennett951 The accuracy isnt bad, I hit a deflection shot from 1.4km the other day and the enemy plane just fell apart. If you get used to the velocity, you can get three or more kills with this gun.
Always great when people dump flares and don’t move much thinking these missiles are stupid like R-60s. So many times do these things just not give half a f^ck about flares and go right for you if you don’t move out of the way. Then sometimes they just go off in a random direction for no apparent reason
I swear to god, every time u think the guns are useless and decide not to bring them in any aircraft, the first match without them will present 1145141919 opportunities to score a kill with guns
My experience flying an f14 since the patch - the new and improved 9l doesnt seem to give a shit even if I do turn my burner off. Its coming straight for me anyways 90% of the time straight through my flares. Honestly this phenomena is the reason I dont truly enjoy playing the f14. Those fucking 1200+ C engines and single flare launcher make a terrible combination for not dying to IR missiles in general, regardless of if the burner is on or off.

I go mach in the Yak-38 at ground level and usually the fastest thing in the game. Mainly because it's acceleration is really good.

you can get tracers by using the ground belt
You don’t, it may say tracer rounds but they don’t work
I actually prefer not using tracer rounds. It takes up some of your screen and i usually do better without them.
