- It took a lot time but we ended up painting Gina's school bus for under $200. Painting a Skoolie can be difficult because most of the time is put into fixing the old bus body and sanding down all the old paint. Between the Harbor Freight sprayer, sand paper, grinder wheels and Rustoleum paint this paint job came out great and under budget.

Gina is so like me 😂. Paint on the outside, minimal importance. :) And when you do paint, basic blend in color. Nothing fancy.

What a wonderful friend you are! The community and our world needs people like you. I struggle all the time in getting things done and try to learn new skills. Watching you and your friends tackle these issues gives me confidence to fix issues in my own rig. I don’t own a bus but maybe one of these years. But knowing that this stuff can be handled is great. Thanks for your videos. They are very encouraging to see that people do bond and can get stuff done! Dale seems to be in a bad mood in this video but it may have been just the parts that he was in.

For that type of Rustoleum, a 4:3 paint:acetone ratio is what's recommended. Also a catalyst hardener is also recommended. Also with the temps being what they are in your area, some "japan dry" might not be a bad idea as well.
have been doing this for 30+ yrs, always good results. i have stuff here that was painted 25 years ago that still looks good
Those little purple paint guns are great. If you keep it clean and use a good regulator it’ll last awhile. Gina your bus looks so much better in white.

those bolt holes are easier to weld when you hold a piece of copper as a backer behind the hole
provided you can reach the back side
if you dont have a copper bar you can use a 3/4 or 1 inch pipe cap from lowes/ home depot. just use the flat side

A couple years newer than mine, with a lovely access door that I am jealous of.
Trying to build up the courage on mine (I don't like heights either, especially in terms of trying to use tools. Something that didn't used to bother me... 40 years ago... 😕).
Doing it solo is a bit longer than it should be, too.
Too easy to sit down and stare at what I want done and wish I had a magic wand.
I absolutely couldn't have done this on my own. I feel your pain. 💜
I'm not a fan of heights, either and at my age I wouldn't bounce back too quickly from a fall. So I'm thinking scaffolding will be the way to go. I'm not good on ladders. I shake to much

Zebra stripe that bus!
If you look at a bottle of Raptor Liner, you’ll see it says, “Elastomeric.” All that Raptor is, is Elastomeric Paint with paint hardener mixed in. You can buy 6 gallons (5gal) Elastomeric Paint from Beyer and (1gal)Hardener through Amazon for the price of 5quarts of Raptor liner.

what is the Hight in the bus you painted.
I like it but, statistc state that white vehicles are less visible on a highway.
