That's spooky. The computer screen behind Susan flashes on and off (10.05) just as she is telling us that we can prod and poke the Superintelligence but never control it.

For the moment memes are holding tremes on a leash or may be there is already a tremes-memes coevolution but there will be soon a tremes driven memetic selection.

She starts well, but her extrapolation of evolutionary processes onto information systems (whatever she really means by that) is not justified in the video at all, and I hardly believe it is possible to well justify it. Programs are not self-replicating, there is no process like that. One can say that they evolve, because the programmer behind it will be improving the program\script, but in what sense can the program replicate with slight mutations? In what sense can internet replicate itself with slight mutations. This is nonsense, and a dragging of evolutionary theory where it does not work. Disappointed, but gonna find her books, she seems cool, maybe i just misunderstood what she was going for.

AI may someday, in addition to being able to learn, be able to also redesign its own hardware and internal structure (Max Tegmark, Life 3.0, 2017)

DNA is not self replicating. Cells replicate them and sometimes whole new animal needs to be bred for that. Linguistic memes are not self-replicating. People replicate them. Technological patterns (which i think are just another kind of meme) are not self-replicating. People replicate them. Fome are fit for replication, some are instrumental to the continuation of carriers existence, some do not. Genes don't care about the organism who carries them. The memes don't care about us.
