I get rolls from quite a few banks, and the millennials seem to be the only people that care about silver at the banks I go to. One older woman had a roll of silver halves that she was just glad to get out of her drawer, the first time I went there, she said, oh, I have some silver coins that have been in my drawer for several years that I cant get anyone to take. I took care of that problem for her.
VERY nice ! ! Had something very similar last year. I picked up 5 customer wrapped rolls from a local Wells Fargo. 79 out of the 100 coins were 40% silver from the 1960s! I was floored ! ! GREAT video, thanks for sharing!
That’s amazing man! I once bought $70 face value of half dollars from a nearby bank and found 23 40% silvers! I was absolutely stunned! Best of luck in your future hunts!
When I was a kid in the 50s and early 60s, I used to handle and spend silver dimes, quarters, halves, and even peace dollars. That’s all we had in those days. Also spent too many Buffalo nickels to mention. LOL!
@@terenceryan6051 yes, when 1965 rolled around I was 12 years old and I remember how the new dimes and new quarters sounded different when they clinked together and somehow they felt lighter. Some people began hoarding them and that was about the time I bought some of the old cardboard Whitman coin holders to start my own collection. Funny story, I won a school district wide essay contest when I was 10 years old and the prize was 5 dollars in beautiful uncirculated Franklin halves. Well, my mother “convinced” me to save them by opening a local bank savings account. But when they started to be taken out of circulation I went to the bank to close my account to retrieve “my coins”. Well, they handed me a 5 dollar bill plus a few new clad coins in interest. Asked the teller “where are my Franklin halves?” and I pitched a bitched until the bank manager came out and explained to me the silver coins had all been “turned in, Kid, now get lost!” Boy was I mad!
I once pulled 3 Morgans from under the counter at the corner grocery store. That was in 1960. My mother snatched them out of my hand when she heard my unbelievable story.
What alot of us coin hunters do not know is that there are still lots of people who work at banks that have absolutely no idea of what a silver coin is. The tellers (all 5 of them)at one of my dump banks thought that all of the Eisenhower dollar coins were all silver and that all coins 1985 and older were silver-lol.
Surprisingly enough apparently nowadays they don't equate precious metal with dollar value in institutions like Banks. The only thing they do is add and subtract numbers and are oblivious to precious metal value versus face value. If a gold coin says it's a $20 coin, that's all they'll give you for it (even though it could be worth $1,000) 😳

I think most silver stackers think that everyone else knows the value of these old half dollars. The truth is very few know and many of the ones that do know don't actually care. If everyone knew and understood their true value they would have been picked through many decades ago because everyone would have been doing it. My grandfather passed away last year at 76 and he had thousands of dollars in change he had saved up through the decades stored in giant metal milk tubs. I can only imagine what was in those tubs now because my grandmother asked my brother to turn them all into the bank and put the money in her account. I had no idea she was going to do it or I would have gone through it personally and my brother didn't care one iota about sorting all the silver out of it. Had he bothered to ask me the amount of silver in those tubs would have probably doubled the value of what she got at the bank at face value.

@@terenceryan6051 Funny I've experienced the opposite. Found a 1942 Walker in a bank box. But I could see how the times you do find stuff in customer wrapped rolls you find a massive coin dump. Not likely to happen with a bank box.
Nope - fess up brother, you bought these rolls probably on eBay. The date and era mix are all consistent with eBay rolls. And for the ultimate factor, ANY sane, honest person would have immediately gone back to that bank and BEGGED that same teller to please sell you every roll that he rolled. You are new to eBay and like many others, you felt the temptation to try the scam. At the very least, you need to remove your post immediately. Finally, as I am a bank manager, I can say that probably 99% of banks nowadays do not allow employees to roll coins. It's a security feature that banks send coins out to be rolled, especially higher denomination coins!
I’ve heard this before from a bank teller. I think once they have enough loose halves laying around they will use the customer wraps to just wrap them themselves to make them easier to handle. I’ve had a teller say the same thing before and there were a few 40% in the rolls. Thanks for watching!
Very good advice Shaun. I've been running into some questioning myself, at my creditunion. I have been obtaining 20 to 40 rolls every month, from the bank. Nothing spectacular. I've been recycling my searched rolls at the local grocery stores, supper clubs and my local tavern without any difficulty. Not crapping in my backyard. The credit union manager asked what I was doing with all of the rolls ? She thought I was just Ag hunting. I mentioned that Ag hunting quarters is almost but not an impossible task. I live in a small town and I'm showing the bank tellers (some are friends) the fruits of my labor. My State and ATB National Parks P&D mint sets are complete. My American Women Quarters set is uncirculated and a WIP. I was Surprised to see them come over to the desk to look at what I have collected. It's never very busy and the atmosphere is almost general-storish. Nice to live in the boonies. I'm going start using the "Pilfering" strategy you mentioned. It will provide a different slice of the coinage currently circulating.
I’ve never heard of the word pilfering. But that’s a good word for it. It never hurts to ask for other things. I once got a bunch of sequential two dollar bill star notes that I sold for double face. Thanks for watching and happy hunting!
That must have been one irate bank till, or just flat out stupid. No doubt my mind it's got to be fake. If it isn't, if I truly was that lucky I'll be living up in Las Vegas. The guy better start getting a big safety deposit box and start blowing up with a silver coins.
Can you tell me how much how many silver dollars are in one of those rolls because I see that yours are done and paper is there a set amount that should be in a roll for silver dollars and also where did you get those cause I’m trying to figure out what institution I might be able to get something like that and I just want to know how much money to bring to the bank to buy rolls of silver dollars or five dollars thank you
These are half dollars and there are 20 coins in a roll and each roll is $10. So I would call a bank, ask how many rolls they have and then buy how many I could afford. So ten rolls is $100. In this video I think I had 14 rolls so that was $140. Good luck and I hope I answered your question. This also doesn’t happen often this is very rare you find this much silver.

@@terenceryan6051 do you find better luck with customer rolls or bank rolls? I usually do boxes and find a couple 40%'ers and 90% every other box.
@@coincadecollecting2978 customers wraps are always better i barely find stuff in boxes
@@terenceryan6051 Funny I've experienced the opposite. Found a 1942 Walker in a bank box. But I could see how the times you do find stuff in customer wrapped rolls you find a massive coin dump. Not likely to happen with a bank box.
Great fines. Nice coins 🪙
Thank you!
Congrats you won the game.
Thanks!
The bank teller must be from Mars. That is, if we're even expected to believe this.
believe it or not! thanks for watching
@@Gopheller1 thanks for watching!
That 1965 silver half is worth A LOT.
Why?
$3-4
did the teller wrap those himself?
i did say that a little too much lol i was is shock, thanks for watching!
None to be found where I live. I used to find them but those days are gone..
He probably stole them from some old person. That happened to my father in law with a handy man he hired.
sorry to hear that, i hope that wasnt the case here.
STAGED
RIGGED 100% THANKS FOR WATCHING
I would like to visit that teller
I visited many times after that and no such luck :(

so the teller rolled them up himself, but they are customer wrapped? how can they be customer wrapped and bank wrapped?
I’ve heard this before from a bank teller. I think once they have enough loose halves laying around they will use the customer wraps to just wrap them themselves to make them easier to handle. I’ve had a teller say the same thing before and there were a few 40% in the rolls. Thanks for watching!
😲😲.. Holy 💩 is right!! Congrats!!
thank you!
Wow 🤩 so cool
Thank you!
never had thay kind of find ,,,SCORE
@@WilliamCurry-bh3dk your day will come!
Thanks for watching!
how do we know you didn't plant that for the views?
Thanks for watching!
Because that’s EXACTLY what he did. This video is fake af. 🤡🤡🤡
Yo thats cool nice dude 👍
Thanks a lot
I’d feel like a king if I found that many silvers in one or two roles
it was an amazing feeling. still got em and nothing has come close to this score since!
I would probably cry haha
It was pretty incredible, I’m spoiled now for sure. I wish this happened more often for all of us!
Great video I love that you can still find silver coins in your change I have a UA-cam channel looking for special coins in the uk
Ya right
Hard to believe! Thanks for watching
Wow! What a find!! 😁
Thanks it was pretty sick. Haven’t found something like that since
Your big mistake was not going back and buying a load more . Well done and i am very happy for you.
Oh I called them back and that was all of them! I even asked if the same person brought anything else in! Thanks for watching!
@@terenceryan6051 It always makes me feel good when I see someone else having some luck and doing well and i always leave a comment and a like because it helps the channel. Good luck in the future.
I think I would be driving back to the bank for more. Congrats.
Oh yeah I’ve been back many times. I recently scored 8 rolls of 40%ers from that bank.
