Love seeing you post and am glad you are back at it. This is a great format to do tour travel vlogs as I believe so many people are so into the glamour of travel but not focused on the truth and learning experiences of traveling both in an introspective sense such as this as well as just getting to know the many other ways of the world and varying perspectives. This social media culture is so braggy but they never seem to truly experience anything or speak about culture in this way. It’s all drones and perfect poses in perfect outfits
Couldn’t agree more. I’ve learned to be super picky with who I travel with based off this alone. It’s more than a photo op to me. I’m trying to learn something new, experience something new and connect with someone new! Thank you!
I'm from the DR and here I thought it was simply another video criticizing my country. I guess you're not the only one with first judgements that you don't like hahaha. Anyways, I really liked your video, the DR is not perfect, it clearly isn't as developped as the US, but we have a lot of great things and places, all countries do. So thanks for choosing this way of showing the island !!
I have Dominican neighbors ... their driveway is right next to my alleyway ... they leave trash everywhere ... I've lived on this block for many years and they're the only neigbors that have done anything like this ... we live in a city area in the U.S. ... we have garbage pick up. Just saying.
Just because you have not traveled does not mean you are not educated. You are associating monetary resources (the ability to travel) to education and this is just not accurate. Although I've traveled all over the world, I've met met many individuals that are fluent in numerous languages and educated me on many aspects of life . Traveling has opened your eyes but you can get similar experiences through reading, conversations and research.
Great video. You're so correct regarding travel. Travel broadens your horizons. I'm an old doll. I think one of the reasons people are depressed today (NOT talking about clinical depression), is because we're so disconnected from each other. When I was a child we only had one TV (this was the 60's). So we'd watch TV together as a family. When I was in college (in the 70's) no one really had a TV in their room because the reception was bad, so we'd all sit together in the lounge and watch TV. Sometimes we'd watch Star Trek, in the afternoons, someone would always be there watching the soaps (the ones on ABC) and they'd give a recap of what went on, we didn't have DVR's or VCR's then. Today we're all watching what we want, but we're alone doing it. One person's watching Netflix, one's watching Prime, or UA-cam or Hulu. We think we're connected but in reality we're all sitting alone in our rooms.
I'm dominican and I totally agreed with you about the pollution in our country. But we're working on that.. There's a program called Dominicana limpia is trying to fix the issue from schools and city's mayors.
People don't dump the trash in the ocean. What you saw was plastic trash swept way from a nearby river which ends in the Caribbean sea, the river swept the garbage from solid wast disposal near the river. The government cleans it up, maybe not as fast as it should, but they do. ua-cam.com/video/1FnHWH5JsiY/v-deo.html
Very interesting video. My parents are from French Caribbean Islands (Guadeloupe and Martinique) and though I was born and raised in France, I've been there many times. Some issues are the same that D.R's ones.
I really enjoyed Junot Diaz's books. It is so sad, that such evil demons are able to brutally torture and kill entire countries. God always has the final say....BEHAVE! I thank all authors, who have shared the history of all countries. Listen to the audio of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz.
Look at Alexis growing and learning. I'm so proud of you for sharing your insight and experiences from traveling to the D.R.. Have you ever heard the phrase "ignorance is bliss"? Not everyone lives with amenities like we have and their quite happy. Yes, that place is paradise. Yes, that place is also in need of government run utilities not private. Don't be so hard on yourself. At least you learned a lesson from your visit. Many ppl attempt to impose their world views, or opinions on others. This was a great vlog. You should definitely do more of these.
USA has the same problems, and it is worldwide. Everyone will not live like Singapore.

Please search poverty and prisons anywhere, and you will see this is worldwide.

Where that part of you in the thumb nail
Great self reflection 👍🏼❤️
That’s the whole point!

Education is a monetary resource, wake up. I didn’t go to college because I couldn’t afford to. A trip here and there is way more feasible.

Yes on our 1st world privilege.
The reason why people dumped trash nesr the beaches is because they have no idea what they have in terms of the island.

Yes, this was better hearing your opinion and seeing the location. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the input ! Hope you learned something new !
You look like that girl from Save the Last Dance
Traveling to other places have a way that causes you to see things differently.
