      @@21AriaW in my country they only sell like rice flour, sushi rice, soy sauce, etc.. basically its impossible to find a lot of asian stuff

    Wow ive been watching ttobokki videos that are so complex and i dont have half the ingredients at my local asian mart , but this is so simple ! Im definitely going to try it!

      yeah, i mean in normal tteobokki you add anchovies and kelp and so on to give it a more seafood flavour, but whenever i make tteobokki i make it only with gochujang because i like it's spicy flavour

    I don’t have gochujang so I always make my own and it still turns out delicious! And I also make my own rice cakes, it does take me a while but I’m used to it because I make tortillas😭

      I would think most Asian markets will have this but I can't say 100% that every Asian market has it :(
      But any Korean market will definitely have it if that helps? Haha

      i mean you can add less gochujang in, or i suppose if you don't want gocujang at all then have it with any other sauce? I know kiri mochi and honey is quite popular, (kiri mochi is basically made of rice flour like tteokbokki). you could put it in soup and stuff too i suppose

    The liquid around my rice cakes never seems to thicken but I did the same exact thing as you. Should I cook my rice cakes for more than 7mins?

    Is there something you can add in place of the pepper paste? Even with a small amount it’s still way too hot for me. But I looove rice cakes - I just can’t find a good way to eat them. Thanks in advance.

      @@SaraeRaveen oh hi lol. I forgot about this. Well I did some researching and I found that you can make a soy sauce based version. It's called "royal tteokbokki" I think. I havent tried it yet but I'm sure it is just as good!

    I’ve made tteokbokki before, but it was sooo spicy, but I really love the sauce. Does someone know how to make it less spicy? Unfortunately I can’t really handle spicy food, so yeah :(

      Elliott Kane oh lol I’m lucky I have an asian fam so I usually have access to all the ingredients. They usually aren’t available at western supermarkets(Walmart, metro, etc.) so try one that’s like run by asians specifically Koreans

      Thats because in korean ( ㄱ ) - which means ( mostly k but sometimes g ) in English is pronounced as g in Korean not full g its a mix of g and k...i hope you understand lol

      if you dont have any oriental or asian grocery stores, you can order some on Amazon for just as cheap
