A very brave and intelligent soldier. I thank GOD for your life Sir. I will buy your book.
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL PASTOR LAOLU, I CAN SEE YOU ARE BETTER RELAXED AND PROFESSIONAL IN THIS INTERVIEW, PLEASE KEEP IT UP AND GOD BLESS..
Being not there to stop Abatcha is the reason why you are still alive Sir 😂😂
indeed
Exactly my thoughts 😊
😂😂😂
I don't know how I survived it and u want to stop Abacha... Nonsense man
The summary of this interview is that Abacha was right when he alleged there was a plan to overthrow him. It was not a phantom coup. Obasanjo is only lucky to still be alive today.
Exactly
I quite agree with you
That's a fact of this interview!
After participating or knowledgeable about the beginning of planning a coup, what makes the coup plotters think late Abacha wouldn’t be suspicious?
Those plotters were fortunate to receive only jail sentences
You guys always miss the point … No one was planning a coup … Coup are planned in secret
“I was the one running around doing all the running around” 🤔 these were brave fearless officers
The interviewer has really done well by not interjecting at every second; he gave the guest opportunity to complete every thought
Sarcasm
Thank God for your life sir
What makes him think he would have been able to stop abacha's ambition 😂😂😂
In other words, there was a plan to unseat Sani Abacha. Simple and short! So Abacha was right after all!!
Col Fadile didn't know he was being lured into a trap by being offered Pounded yam, Bush meat and Salad 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
They could have stopped him but it would have been bloody.
Everything thing that happen in this life has a reason
This interview should have continued. There are many more information, Col. Bello Rtd should dish out to the public about the coup and Abacha
He wasn't planning to taker over but to restore an existing government that was hijacked..so it's not really a coup.
The mention of DMI reminds of one name that sends jittery down the spine of every Nigerian then Mr Frank Omenka
Thank you, bro!. Charles Omenka. Nigerian version of Malia Mugu of Amin's Uganda. He later fled to Brazil. Indeed, we have seen a lot in Nigeria.
He was exceptionally brilliant, even his seniors feared him, omenka was only carrying out instructions.
Colonel Frank Omenka.
Is the interviewer not listening. He is talking and you say the wrong things about what he has just said.
@@oguntuyi9286frank Omenka
Kudos for the quality of your guest. However, you have to learn the art of interviewing. Your constant interruptions and assumptions of knowledge of the story are a distortion to the flow of the interview. It is needless to be saying 'okay' several times within the interview. It is clearly a noise. Trying to complete his statements and sometimes being wrong is appalling. You have to honestly learn how to conduct an interview.
D interviewer shouldn't have had any business in media presence if his position was rightly and competitively selected. It was so noisy by him. He is loathsome in his conduct of this interview.
I agree with you
No. The interviewer was not all wrong. He has a knowledge of the political terrain of that era. I think your appraisal of him was not all fair.
So after watching and listening to the interview, most of the comments here are alluding to the fact that there was a coup been planned. Obasanjo and Yar'adua were no more in service but were in an advocacy NGO group as civilians. Do you guys know what it takes to carry out a coup especially by some 'bloody' civilians? The only military man involved is him i.e Col. Bello Fadile, who had informed Abacha on what he was up to. On the other hand, the decree that created the ING wasn't annulled yet. IBB left Abacha there, it was obvious they weren't sincere about handing over to a civilian lead ING. One is called 'Maradona' and the other 'Evil genius'. The two of them had an agreement for IBB to hand over to Abacha but for the pressure mounted by the civil society which was what made IBB to step aside.
Then they could mount pressure on military to step aside.. military ooo, but today we can't mount on democratic president to step aside very strange..so the military were more civil then compared to the democracy we have today.
Nobody could have stopped Abacha. Period! Full Stop!
And eventually?
Don't mind him. If he had resumed as Shonekans ADC, how could that have stopped Abacha from taking over? The interviewer should have asked him. He would probably have just been killed if he resisted.
GOD stopped him
Untill an Apple came unto the scene..😏😏😏
@@ademolaadeleke2002 The ability of an ADC to truncate a coup is 50/50 not absolute and not impossible.
The ADC is privy to a lot of intelligence and can easily give orders in the name of the CNC especially that this time around, the CNC is one local civilian with know knowledge of the military.
If he was able to galvanize the guards brigade and some GOCs Abacha's coup could fall.
However, Abacha is a master of the game, instead of his coup to fail, heads will role.
Remember, colonel Bello Fadile said if he were the ADC,it probably wouldn't have happened, PROBABLY means it could and it could not.
But Abacha's coup was the easiest coup in the history of Nigeria. It looked more like a drama, there wasn't tension like the one that removed Gowon or Buhari from office.
Thank God the truth has finally come out at last.
So it wasn't a Phantom Coup after all.
Thank you for saying the truth.
There was no planning of couple by Fadile. Please listen again.
Very interesting revelation
This should be continuous ,give platforms to retired military men ,it’s a lot you can learn historically, this could help up shape our today and tomorrow
Most of them are terrible people, they'd fill such forums with LIES!
Unfortunately most of them are gone now….
14:42 lool pounded yam with Bush meat is on point. But fruit salad as well? That's too much
With due respect to him, he wasn't a smart military officer.
Babagida set everything in motion for Abacha to take over. He said Abacha saved his life twice from different coup & Abacha warned him that they don't want Abiola.
How can we get the book?
General Diya played a role to pave way for Abacha and Chief Shonekan knew about what was in ahead. I am leaning on what Chief Shonekan told me. Let me keep it scanty. Unfortunately, both Abacha and Diya fell out.
Please BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST AS THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD AND ACCEPT HIM AS your LORD AND PERSONAL SAVIOUR FOREVER AND EVER. ❤🎉
What has this gotten to do in this case, Mr. Fanatic?

How can I buy a copy of the book, NINE LIVES?
Nigerian our country is indeed in dare need of redemption.
Indeed a revelation from Col. Bello Fadile
Indeed, it is easy to make such a claim in hindsight. However, it is highly probable that you would have also encountered the same unfortunate circumstances and gone missing.
Good job col
So? Mr. man, the Abacha story is boring now. In fact as it turns out, Abacha was the fairest of those military and not-so military rulers of that failed state. He was a bit ahead of his time being relentlessly and unjustly pilloried and demonised by a tribalist press cabal. Abacha was a saint compared to what nigeria has become today.
You are wrong. They are all devils. You cannot use one to launder the image of another. Up till now Abacha loot is still being traced. He was an inordinate kleptomania! An insatiable rogue, like most of those who still later participated in civilian govt, some of whom were also his men and loyalists.
@@ademolaadeleke2002
Yeah right. You have again returned to your familiar territory- pointless sloganizing and meaningless name-calling, kleptomania bla bla bla. Was he any more of these than anyone else or are you just protecting your own while vandalising the credibility of the dead man?
I repeat, Abacha was a very fair man. Under him, Nigeria was divided into six geo-political zones to ensure fair distribution of federal infrastructure, appointments and other resources and he followed the blue print even with state creation. Today government has become a tribal/family cabal even in a so-called democracy, federal character ignored, etc. Even foreign loans obtained in Nigeria's name are used to build modern railways in selected tribal enclaves and even Niger republic, a different country while the entire eastern flank is pointedly ignored. Can any of those ranting about "Abacha loot" account for the sources of their wealth today? And whatever happened to the "oil windfall" and other loot which are swept under the carpet?
Besides, while others murdered their colleagues for alleged coup plotting, Abacha held them in custody including those who created and ruthlessly applied "decrees" that coup plotters should be executed. Had Abacha followed that "decree", many of those alive today would have been sent to the great beyond same day they were apprehended and nothing would have happened.
Abacha was a Muslim by faith, but he welcomed the Pope to Nigeria and discharged himself creditably as a competent leader unlike today when ethnic exclusion based on religion reigns supreme with some people publicly proclaiming "Ibos will never rule nigeria". The only problem Abacha had was the absence of social media in his days which allowed his credibility to be vandalized by ethnic bigots without right of reply. But that does not mean that the man should be unfairly pilloried even in death by those who are no better than him in any shape or form.
True
You are very funny. So, who owns those money he saved in foreign accounts in his name. Saint indeed.
@@seuna.8438 from your comment, it shows you have no knowledge of how a government works.
Their was actually a coup
How can we go back to our formet. Nothing can bring it back.
From what you are saying you trying to do a coup😂😂😂😂
It was crazily irrational of him to be going around setting and interim government while there's a sitting Head of State. Yaradua too misstepped the boundary by his involvement in setting up a dateline for the Head of State. Abacha was right. A coup is a coup whether by gun or by other means
So that means there was a real coup. Interesting.
That is why Obasanjo is never to be believed. He likes covering up his sh*ts and projecting himself as innocent and blameless on every issue.
Where can I get a copy of the book?
This story is interesting but can be confusing at times
How can an officer that is non combatant be ADC. Col Bello was corps of legal services
You guys in Nigeria should really go easy with eating these high carbohydrate foods and drinking beer, just look at this man''s stomach as if he is pregnant with tweens. This is coming from the food and not not exercising living a sedentary life lifestyle.
You're right! See the size of him? Jesssssss 😂
Hmmmm. Military intrigues
So we can finally put a face to the name………….Colonel Bello Fadile
Laolu, always allow your guest to talk before intercepting into their message. By intervention you make your interview boring.
STORY - STORY 😅😂😅😊😅😂
You would have been here for this interview
Where is Abacha today ?
... untruthful. He should be grateful for his life.
How dare anyone say the June 12 election was not concluded? Someone abridged the process, and we only needed to conclude the announcements.
All of those efforts were not necessary; the illegality of annulment should have been undone.
You are a star for making that point!
A bunch of self-serving individuals playing with the fate of millions of Nigerians. What a shame to all of you.!
What will a common A.D.C do to stop top generals from executing a coup.
He would do a lot.
Remember as an ADC to the president.
IBB ADC stopped Dimka
@@teddyegbon3237Fortunately the ADC is Abacha
How does this story change the Naira to Dollar value or the cost of Gari in the Market.
As a yoruba man he will not have done anything
Abacha/IBB were the worst thing to happened to this country, we were on track on June 12th but they thwarted it and looted the country to stupor, we have not recovered since, we in Yoruba land will never support military rule again, the worst is we go our separate ways and those that want military to rule them can be allowed and those that want democracy can also have their choice.
Abacha regime was one of the best
You wouldn't have this opinion if your or any member of your family was touched by his regime.
People make statements out of ignorance. How can you say Abacha's regime is the best??

We want civilian rules and we have gotten on,what difference has it made to the life's of an average Nigerians now?the comon man on the streets dont care who rule over them as long as they get looked after,i was a little boy when Abacha was in power,my family suffered just like what many families are suffering today even worse than during military rules.
Abacha was a very bad and ruthless leader who had no respect for the rule of law or constitutef authority. It was very wrong of him to have removed Chief Shonekan. Why did he not want to be removed?? The Nigerian highest office should not be viewed as exclusive to s certain zone or tribes within the Country. If we really want a united Country, we must respect each other's feelings. The Ibos must also be given a chance to the highest office in the Land, because they're being unnecessarily deprived and Marginalized.
@@oladelerobinson9908You are so misleading just because of tribal sentiments. This same story that was misleading then was why you thought Abacha was ruthless, and now that you have heard the truth , you still fixated. Abacha stabilized Nigeria banks created states left exchange rate at 92 dollars, and you are talking trash. Shonekun should have conduct zzzed election in 3 months if he had wanted civilians to continue
14:45 😅😅😅
See the people wey spoil that country. 😮
That's a couple sirrrrr!
Nice to see this guy. I have heard a lot about him. God bless him.
U will say dat after abacha's death....honestly if he could have appeared b4 u , u would run pass bolt
Very true, you see he couldn't talk about ibb, also Nigerian government has not been able to collect anything from others except for the dead abasha
😂😂😂😂 fact lol
I know this man as a No nonsense military officer as narrowed by his subordinates whom am previledge to work with.
Unfortunately, Nigerians that always judged based on sympathy and hatred wont learn anything. This proved how Abacha was, he set up investigation team to actually know the level of involvement before making arrest. No matter how this man tried to put it, going around mobilizing secretly on how to remove a military head of state was a coup, this man should just say there was a coup. If they had succeeded, they would have stayed in power even longer than Abacha. Obasanjo will never give this details, he will always lie, denied to play the victim. Abacha was too nice , but was always sold badly by the press by the Southern press. All those that said IBB put Abacha there to take over can now cover their heads in shame, because Abacha called the coup planners IBB boys according to Bello.
There is no honour even amongst Nigerian soldiers. So, the fact that Abacha subsequently accused IBB's boys of plotting to overthrow him, does not necessarily mean that IBB was not involved in enthroning Abacha. Afterall, Murtala overthrew Gowon, even though Murtala helped make Gowon. IBB overthrew Buhari even though IBB helped make Buhari Head of State.
I won't buy into what Col.Bello is saying. They're all bunch of birds with the same feathers
The interviewer is not patient enough to listen
How did col Diya get involved? His name wasn't mentioned neither was Karim Adisa mentioned.
That's a different coup attempt.
Diya coup was 1997, this was 1995
So the June 1993 election was not conclusive
😂
For those who want more, go and read his memoir. Why do guys always want freebies?
😂
ABACHA HAS TO REPORT TO ALMIGHTY GOD OMNIPOTENT HIMSELF THAT MAN TORMENT NIGERIA IN HIS TIME UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR
Even with this interview, you are still blind and deaf? How has Nigeria been without Abacha today?

Not impressed with the questioning, constant undue interjection. Missed opportunity to get better insight. A critical question is why he believed why he thinks if he was ADC to Shonekan the resignation or take over would not have occurred.
Another Yoruba military officer sold him to Abacha for his arrest.. Na Yoruba dey do each other!!
Very dull journalism here, I hope Bello gets another opportunity for a proper interview.
