A great privilege for Flavio Briatore to allow me into his home to have a chat about his life, his success and challenges. Really enjoyed this one! See more here! ua-cam.com/users/nicorosbergtv
What a nice, refreshing, relaxed conversation with a very effective and grounded business man who talks so much sense it's almost hard to believe he is even the same guy you read about
shut up rosberg
@@UhrenErich What are you doing here then 🙄 If you don't like him then don't watch it

hi again watched All the way Really enjoyed It ..Not the mani thought And Percieved To be .. Cheers tc uk
ofcourse i took all your opinion about bernie podcast onboard and changed it all just as you had been suggestin! glad you like this one even more! many more cool ones to come! who next? who is up for raikkoennen? ;)
Mwoah forsure but it is thesameforeverybody
Montoya would be nice, or Clive Chapman.
Kimi for me!
Patrick head would be a good one if you can get him, I would say Ross Brawn but he's probably going to be a bit too tight lipped as he's still in the business.
Also, I can see why you might not want to but Keke might have a few good stories to tell, world champion, driven for Williams and McLaren, team mates to Prost and Mansell, managed Hakkinnen.
What about Fernando? maybe wait till after his last race and do a look back at his career, he'll be free to speak his mind!
Vettel please. englisch or german, doesnt matter.
You're a good listener, Nico. Many interviewers interrupt their guest way too often but you show them how its done. Keep up the good work, love your content!
Flav seems to be a good subject for interview. The guy just talks and talks and remains interesting troughout. That probably helped too ;)
But in case Nico does read all this ... tell the guy with the camera to hold it still. The guy needs a bit more testing before he goos racing ;)

Phalanx Gacha man! bernie was first ever one i was super nervous! yes i read all and i am improving fast!!!! thx for commeing
Nico, can you interview Kimi Raikkonen for 2 hours like you did now :D
Two hours of YES/NO answers??
Yes!
nightvvisher i will ask him in winter! unlikely he will accept!!!! haha
@@NicoRosberg I rly hope that Kimi will accept, I would rly like to see two of my favorite drivers chatting together for 2 hours
I want to know everything that happened in those golden years at Lotus!
Schumacher is the reason I started watching F1. A true legend changes the discipline they participate into. Michael raised the bar for fitness. And today, every driver trains like crazy. Salut to you Michael.
1987 91 Prost and Senna was great to watch but when Schumacher qualified 7th at spa with a wheel barrow i was hooked on F1. i had the pleasure of meeting schumacher in 2002 in montreal it was a dream come true. i cried when schumacher had an accident. keep fighting Schumi
@@danieldangelo7937the Jordan wasn't a wheelbarrow that year. They had a half decent car. He did outperform it though at Spa.
Nico your concept of using your fame to help us meet and learn from people with great legacies is clever and generous. Thank you and well done!
I underestimated Nico when he won the F1 title, but seeing what Hamilton has done to to Bottas, I'm ashamed at my own mistake. He has been proven to be a more than worthy world champ. More than that, I thought he occasionally came across as a bit smarmy; I was totally wrong there too! I think it was the accent that threw me, because what a top notch humble, qualified interviewer he is. Looking forward to more of this, if you're reading our comments Nico.
For sure ,i think Nico is better than button or raikkonen . He would outscore these two on longrun
@@Praise_God369 you underestimate kimi
Extremely well said. My sentiments too.
Rosberg was a great driver. Got inside hamiltons head too. We have the disadvantage of having to watch F1 on british t.v which was totally biased towards Hamilton during their battle
To be fair Nico is such a cool guy, he achieved his F1 dream and moved on that’s respect. He has reinvented himself and is a joy to watch
1:23:58s proves that Flavio's mega intuition and risk taking actually lies on a foundation of insane comprehension of the situation and a superb intelligence.
"A Million was a lot of money at the time!"
Priceless :D
It was. 1 million back then 90s was probably around 5 if not more now. Not only inflation but things weren't so overvaluated as today. Any Capital is stupid expensive to buy for example, cars idem. Remember how crazy it was to ask for 1 million for a bugatti, now a 993 gt2 is 1 million, every nice fairly rare car is 1 million.
@LeTang I get it. But 1 million today on the hard to make scale was like 100-300k max. Today anyone with a will and an able self can make 1 million as easy as they could make 100k to 300k back then. It's not just inflation, it was just harder to make those obsecene ammounts of money.
@LeTang but 1 million today isn't that farfetched for literally anyone trying to make it, so point is a bit moot.

Great podcast Nico, I’m Italian and it’s unbelievable that nobody have done an interview like that to Flavio in Italy
I feel like this guy should never stop talking. So many interesting stories & so much street smart wisdom! Thank you Nico for bringing out top quality content for us.
Very interesting to hear Flavio talk about the Benetton days.
Flavio was extremely good in talking away any, really any, controversy you would have had on your agenda as a talking point. He wraps you up in a verbal cloud of perfume, in a cozy soft blanket of the snug and confidential version of the fantastic Flavio world of succes. After all who wants to talk about unpleasant things if life tastes so good in the smell of good food, family and idealism to help the world? Slick as an eel in oil and very entertaining. Very Italian too. Thanks Nico.
I’m Italian, I can speak English very well, but damn it’s very hard trying to figure out what Flavio is saying
Matteo Lorandi ahahahahah. you ‘re so right, but flavio is flavio. finito 😄

Maybe Flavio doesn't want anyone to understand what he's saying. Can't blame him. He sails too close to the sun
Sounds fine to me

Today is peanuts!
True, but I miss the funny part make you laugh
Mattia Abbondi Ok boomer
Absolutely fantastic !! You did a really great job ! No one is really doing these kind of "in depth" yet "casual" interviews with your " approach" of trying to Learn the "secrets of success" from these super successful people. It is unique....instead of how everyone else just focuses on the "celebrity" part of it. I was really interested in hearing Flavios "methods" and how he goes about his career. It is obvious why you have been successful in your career, You have a humble way of going about this....and open to criticism...and interacting with your fans here...Your creating something really good here. . Keep it going !!
We have so many interviewers that focus solely on controversies, his refreshing to just have you let this casual conversation and him sharing his experiences, is great stuff, thanks Nico, please keep this approach.
Is the 3rd time I see this video. What a life lesson. Many people criticize Flávio, because he was disruptive in the F1 world, however he was years in front of the majority and he still is.
Fantastic job Nico!!
Flavio is a wacky guy but he's very entertaining. He probably talks himself to sleep, though, and sometimes it was hard to understand him. Nico is too classy to dish the gossip but he covered a good number of topics here. Well done, Nico!
Wacky because the way he talks? He talks normally in Italian
@@dimmacommunication No fact he is banned for life from F1
@@KGI_KlikoNL we need characters like him in F1 now. Team principals playing happy puppies now is nothing but balony lol

Nico, thank you so much for this great video! Flavio is amazing person. Please more stuff like that
Tbh, I’m glad you did not go into controversies - what Flavio had to say was simply amazing - he gave all of us some huge lessons in this podcast, the main one being that we should never give up, and that everything is possible, and you can get everywhere you want to with your dedication
Nico, this was a GREAT interview -- your best one yet! I love how you let Flavio just speak and didn't interrupt him like many journalists often do. You listened to him and let him tell his stories. Excellent.
The quality of the content on your channel is insanely good. You, sir are a true man of renaissance. I salute you and wish you all the best in all paths of your career Mr Rosberg.
What a man ! Falvio is funny , multi tasking, intelligent and should run Ferrari and shake it up !
He would be the right man for Ferrari at the moment..
Fascinating to hear from these legendary F1 figures that we rarely see anymore!
Awesome interview. Interest level through the roof. More like this Nico, great stuff.
Nico, your genuine interest is apparent and is absolutely key to the quality of your interviews. You are clearly fascinated to learn rather than just ask cliché questions. For this reason, the person you are speaking with opens up in a way they likely wouldn't otherwise. Keep up the good work.
2:03 Flavio has a photo of himself and Michael together during the Benetton days? That’s great to see. A dream duo that always celebrated victories together.
Danke Nico.
Nico. This is a cracking podcast. So good. Good to hear that Alonso is actually good to work with, 2nd team owner I've heard say that. Stefano Domenicali also said so.
Flavio opened up to an F1 driver Nico...podcast,recording didn't matter to either of them..this content is gold and all heart.Great work nico!!!
Appreciate your efforts nico . you are a complete man and were an excellent racing driver and the only one who could truly challenge hamilton
What about Alonso?
Alonso lost to Hamilton. So, NO
Nico you are a huge inspiration to a lot of people. and yes you are one of the best drivers F1 ever had. You and Hamilton always had good fights on the track. Now F1 is boring with out you. Keep up the good work. You are a true champion on track and of track.
he had the same car , give vettel or alonso that car and they will win too. raikonnen truly challenge hamilton in 2007 so
Absolutely incredible improvement since the first episode! Sound is great, video is great, massively interesting stories, nice and long episode. Thank you for putting this up! 👍
We need you back in F1 Nico! You were the only one that challenged Hamilton!
JB also beat him one year.
No because a) Nico has been there done that and b) LH has learnt from Nico the need for mental skills and that is how he has improved. Never go backwards. It just shows now how strong Nico had to be to beat LH - noone is coming close now and even if there was someone, Toto doesnt need a hard time!
In Vettel's car, he'd be leading the championship probably...
Interesting - you could be right...what do you think Nico would do if Ferrari called him up on the phone? ;-)
I even said he beat him "one year".... taking that how many years did Lewis beat Nico in F1 as team mates ?... there we go ;)
This is just amazing. And who cares about the controversies. That is all part of competing. Everyone knows that. Everyone knows about all of that past stuff. You put forward all of the great topics and explored them in depth. Amazing interview. Incredible content. We all thank you so much for what you bring to us all Champ!
Nico. Amazing job. This video is excellent and what a fantastic insight into the world of F1. Learnt so much. Be proud of this interview Nico.
Racelinekarting thx!!!!!
i dont really like them being called interviews yet and therefore me an interviewer and i would like more of a role in the chats.... not sure how to do that yet as my guests dont ask me anything haha. need to have a think! any suggestions??!
Nico Rosberg ah apologies Nico. To be honest with Flávio you probably didn’t stand much chance to get more of a say as he likes to chat! Personally I think you strike a good balance, as shown in the Bernie interview. Would be great to see you chat to Ross Brawn as you spent time working with him and how you brought the Merc time up the grid before he left. Love what you are doing with your channel Nico.
Nico, thank you for talking to Flavio about your top secret negotiations. I've been looking forward to it since the beginning of the episode when you announced it ;)
We need more of these podcast style videos. I love hearing the previous generation of team managers and driver's putting their knowledge base out there for us all to learn.
Superb interview... thank you Nico.... learned something new today. Flávio is very inspiring and very direct. The no nonsense mentor we all need...
Bravo Nico.
Despite the controversies, Flavio is a legend. Thank you Nico for revealing some of the stories leading to Michaels start in F1. F1 history at its best.
what a fabulous interviewer. Nico is so professional as he lets his guest talk without interruption.
My favourite quote from Flávio " a million was a lot of money at the time" 😂
Name another man you can listen to for 2 hours? Amazing Dr. Briatore. Great job, Nico.
This is a valuable chat that must be taught, nice pep talk, thank you Nico for sharing this. I might have observations about him, but i see the bigger picture, i believe everyone who watches this and comprehend it will treasure this life tutorial documentary.
This guy really understand F1. Best manager in his time for sure. Thanks Nico for this inside interview. More like this please.
These 3, so far, interviews are a masterclass on how to interview men like Bernie and Flavio. Well researched and plenty of time for the interviewee to answer in full. Great viewing & thanks.
Got to say this may be the best thing I've seen on youtube, and that's saying a lot. Well done for doing this interview, and amazing job for letting Flavio speak. Being from the UK, I never thought much of Flavio growing up, thought he was a bit pantomime but I was not focused on him. Anyway turns out 20+ years later how wrong I was. Being a huge Schumi fan, hearing these stories is truly inspiring. I seriously cant believe how 1 man could be so involved, so forward thinking as this. Its brilliant getting this level of insight ans not sure if any of us fans would ever have known how great he truly was without you sitting him down. In any case, I am sure anyone seeing this will gain a new level of respect for him. Sure he has his rough edges but its F1, its too the limit.
Good luck on the next ones, keep them coming. I hope one day Schumi is on the cards, but in the meantime, Raikonnen would be an eye opener. IF we could learn a bit about him his fans are going to go even more nuttier.
1 suggestion, the Schumi year 2000, winning for the 1st time with Ferrari. Was a long time in the making. And not sure if your'e keen but Adrian Newey/Gordon Murray would be great too. GO for Bingo!
Thank you, Flavio & Nico!
Just got through my 2nd time viewing this gem. It is truly a Master Class on entrepreneurship, business management, customer/client satisfaction, integrity, and excellence.
Integrity? Flavio?
Amazing Nico. What an enthralling conversation. Straight to the point is old Flav!! Thanks.
I think english subtitles would be helpful, but great interview anyway.
Cool Nico! Many thanks to be part of this Background around Michael :)
Amazing content Nico! Listening to Flavio and the questions..they were spot on! There will always be controversies about people who actually DO something with their life! The point I enjoyed a lot is learning Flavio’s mindset, which I think is far more important than the back side of things! Was great to hear how he approaches totally different business with the same attitude, his time managing advices..really: eye opening! Video editing this time was really good too! 👍🏼 keep this up! Cannot wait to see Felipe’s interview! Also..another idea for you could be, like, interviewing yourself! I’m really curious to see ans hear how you manage all of your businesses!! Take us with you also on that journey!
Well..pretty much everywhere! Especially in the last part where he speaks about how they do a big summary every morning (1:20:05)..and how he asks his assistants to be quick, no longer than 15 minutes. Also he said: if you have somebody to put their time in, everything takes just 5 minutes.
I enjoy your format of asking a question, letting the interviewee speak, and not interrupting, as is common with celebrity interviews. No hurry to get to a commercial break. Brilliant! It's like we're sitting at the table with you having a normal conversation. I find it very relaxing, informative, and entertaining. It's especially nice, as a long time fan of F1 living in the US, since I wouldn't have an opportunity to learn about these people otherwise. Also, enjoyed your other videos from karting worlds, Monaco race, etc. Thanks. Looking forward to more.
Nico you are doing a FANTASTIC job. What a great interview, what a fascinating man Flavio is. I could have listened for another 2 hours.
I have listened to a few of your Podcasts, I have to say it’s a very interesting way of interviewing your guests , it’s almost like a casual chat in a pub and we are all sitting at the same table. Even though you are very well prepared for each individual guest, the way your guests respond to you is quite different to any odd interview you would normally get to see. I have to applaud you for this approach of yours… extremely enjoyable content! Well done!!!
Final feedback: really well prepared with your script book. Nice to keep the camera far away from the conversation. It looks like an audio podcast recording but still nice to see. I saw your first interview with Bernie where you looked like Peter Windsor completely dominating the conversation. I switched off then. This one I watched from start to end. You got the best out of Flavio he really opened up. Complimenti!
Great work and great improvement from previous interview. Keep on your growth mindset for our pleasure 😉.
A few takeaways from the interview : bonus-based management, understand deeply AND simply your business (astonishing ex of 30% labor, 8% rent, 18% food - and 1000p managed via 6persons staff), sharp time management.
Thanks Nico
Awesome nico.....fascinating insight into these incredible people....We would never get to know these remarkable fascinating people if not for your podcasts. ...so thankyou but also your good!!....great idea you came up with letting public to get to know these fascinating wealthy people we could never dream to get access to...very interesting! Throughly enjoyed! Keep up,the good work!👍😊
AWESOME INTERView. I really liked the way he talked to you. all the details. It was a very entertaining chat. thank you Niko for the good time
What a great interview Nico. Wonderful F1 character Flavio is. Thank you !!
Thanks for taking the time and putting in the effort for this interview Nico. I have been following F1 since the mid 70's and I learned a lot about Flavio today. It's also good to see you now allowing the interviewee time to lengthen his responses before the next question is asked.
An observation for your photographer though. Be aware of your plane of focus when interviewing two people side by side. For a lot of the time Flavio was sitting behind the focal plane and was out of focus. In this case move your camera to compensate or change aperture settings to increase depth, lighting permitting of course.
Cheers from downunder.
Hey Nico, Awesome podcast, next time, do you think we can do links in the description which link to the different parts of the interview? Because it is pretty long, and if there was like a "contents" or "index" then fans could get to certain parts of the interview much easier.
Also, new BMW car of yours? Looking flash!
Holy short attention span.

UnwickeD yes thats a good idea i will consider that! to help you get from one cool part to the next incase you dont want to listen to the whole thing!!!!
Yes Nico you can do that now in fact - just ask a subscriber to do it (I can do it as I do it for all my own content!) and I will come up with the topics and time stamps for you to save you an onerous job...
Nico Rosberg your car is so good car Nico
One of the most interesting interviews that I have seen Nico. No interrupting by the interviewer, a lesson a lot of people could do with learning. I would like to see Kimi being interviewed as from this one I think you could get him to talk extensively.
would be really useful to have an index of the topics with the link to the minutes on the description. all the rest is perfect, Nico. Kee going! Flavio is a great character too!
I listened until the end and I loved his mindset when it comes to business. It seems to me he likes to leave it simple. When people think of big companies or big brands, people think it is something super complex and impossible however after listening to Flavio i believe most people are wrong, sometimes leaving things simple is actually the best way forward. Brilliant work Nico, thank a million!!

Amazing content. I've been a pretty hard core F1 fan for 28 years now and this interview really fills in the blanks for what I used to watch in the early 1990s onwards. This is real insider chatter, and stuff you don't get on sports news etc. Nico, You're da man!
one of the best interviews
This is great, I love how Nico just let Flavio go. It's fascinating hearing these guys tell their story, their way. Excellent. What is incredible is he pulled the same trick twice, Schumacher, then Alonso. That's not luck.
Great interview Nico keep, very happy to see you with a legend like Flavio. I took a special interest in the part were you talked about the enginneers maybe running too much of F1 nowadays and i noticed you appreciated a lot of Flavio way of dealing with it when he was in F1.
I personally would like you in the next interview with Massa ( felow great contemporary F1 driver) to talk about this also, not to rant or talk down on current state F1 but to give a positive critic to maybe improve F1, because me has a fan i believe what the driver's think about how the F1 should be is the right way of doing things, and not what the enginneers or manufactures want, Ofc always with a certain level of compromise betwen the parts but the drivers point of view must always be the most important.
Very interesting insight into a succcesfull mind. Little by little it shows some building blocks of the successes behind the scenes. Inspiring
Ron Dennis next time?
gameholic2 what should i ask him? also i want to go outside of f1 world with next guests!
Ciao Nico sarebbe bello se "outside of F1" potessi intervistare Roger Federer! Mi ha sempre dato l'impressione che siate due personalità affini: calmi, educati, allegri e con considerazioni anche profonde riguardo alla propria attività da condividere con altre persone. Mi raccomando solo non in tedesco, che ci capisco poco! ;-)
If possible please interview someone from MotoGP or Johny Rea frm WSBK or maybe even Usain Bolt. But we are all looking forward to a Ron Dennis interview of course!
@@NicoRosberg Ross Brawn..!
Would also be good to interview some older fans on their favorite stories and memories.
Outside F1, would be sweet to interview atheletes at the top of their game on their journey. Would be a good comparison and some context for F1 in the sacrifice and work put in to win the competition.
I really enjoyed your interview Nico...I particularly liked the way you let Flávio run with his answers to your questions...and that you didn't tighten the edit too much...this brought out the best in him...a passion for life and work with a commitment to not allowing time to run away from him. It didn't matter when he rattled on in some parts, this just magnified this passion.
Very many people want to know the secret to success, the combination of skills and support that guarantee a win in business/sport. I am only too aware how important good fortune and timing has a part to play in all this.
I've only just started to court success again, after loosing nearly everything I worked for when my business was affected by the Financial meltdown in 2008. It's sometimes very difficult to look at potential business opportunities in the same clear and enthusiastic way when you are so bruised by the last fall. It's also difficult to hear about such successes! I hope that your interviews with such dynamic people continue to inspire me.
There arent enough characters like Flavio in f1 these days.
Saw enough drivers have their reputations tarnished by his cheating. Fuck his character
Thank God!

But in Steve Matchett book and Ross Brawn book they say “Tom Walkinshaw convinced Falvio to bring Schumacker to Benetton team because Flavio he have no idea if Michael is good driver or not but Walkinshaw knows”
No doubt one of the greatest personalities in F1. In his case though English subtitles wouldn't hurt.
I think Nico is doing a great job listening. Flavio had a lot of interesting things to say and Nico had the patience to let him finish. In a lot of talkshows the host tries really hard to be funny and cool which really ruins the conversation. So yeah keep up the good work. I personally would like to see an episode with Alain Prost or Eddie Irvine in the future.

Chapeu, Nico! Thanks Nico
I don't get this flawed perception about Alonso not being good at "team building." If anything, he's as good as any other top driver at motivating the team and giving useful insights in car development. Stefano Dominicali clarified this as well when he was asked about it in his podcast on the F1 channel and now Flavio has done the same. Even Ron Dennis admitted in an interview with Motorsport Magazine that the reason for the fallout of 2007 was him promising Nando no.1 driver status but then changing it to "equal drivers" when Lewis's performances started surprising him. He didn't blame Fernando for the chaos that year and ultimately that is one of the reasons why he hired him back in '15.
Fernando is not a bad team player as the media (and Christian Horner) would want us to believe. Yes, he probably hasn't made the best decisions in the teams he has chosen to be with but once he's joined a team, the evidence suggests he hasn't had a destructive or negative attitude with his colleagues.
Daniyal Rehman destroying your teammates quali and race is sth I wouldn‘t be able to accept as a team boss, it‘s not only about you, it‘s also about the team. I know he‘s a champion and most of them would do anything to be No1 but that just makes things difficult for the team. If you‘re not willing to give him the No1 status in the team he wouldn‘t be a good driver to sign (which is what Christian Horner was saying, he was asked why he wouldn‘t sign him from a team boss perspective and I get why he said what he said about Fernando) He‘s awesome if he‘s No1 but when someone challenges him he gets uncomfortable to work with (Ron Dennis said so himself in an interview a few years back, think it was with Sky Sport F1). But I guess everyone will tell you sth else about him, he‘d like Lewis, you either like him/his attitude or you don‘t like him/his attitude 🤷♀️
He can develop a car, but he is very destructive!
He bullies, and you end up with him or against him. There's no middle ground with Fernando.
@@badoubade thats why he is world champion...

So just like Senna then.
