- We demo the iPhone 5/4S feature of a laser keyboard in this Concept iPhone 5/4S video. The keyboard in this new iPhone design can be swiped out of the mobile device. Its different to the iPhone 4 or iPhone 3gs of today.

Im from the future..even iphone 15 still didn’t apply this feature
from the future here, and we finally got this through the AR/VR headsets such as the Vision Pro from Apple and Meta Quest 3 🙏🏼

This, along with everything else in the known universe, will blend.
That projection's pretty advanced, but I could totally stand to see this feature. Only issue is it would need to adjust based on the orientation and tilt of the screen, which could make it unfeasible. It's probably better to use the laser keyboard bluetooth device that's available now.

This already excited 10 years ago, just not on a phone, a laser keyboard is something from the 90s..
This is the most realistic feature out of the three.
One of the coolest concepts I've seen. Obvious problems are the technology and probably the battery life. It would just simply cost too much much pretty damn cool.

I remember there being a laser keyboard on the market a few years back.
And I'd really laugh about the energyconsumption and people complaining about poor batterylife if they constantly use a projector in their mobile device.

@NicholasFonville This technology exists in other applications (like a desktop keyboard or an additional device for mobile devices) but we're not in the stage where we can take this technology and fit it into a phone as a complimentary module. Not to mention the kind of power requirements it would need. As mentioned before, an iPhone would last about ten minutes using this. While the technology is conceptually available, it's not practical or at the consumer level.

Well done concept! Maybe in 2030/2040 since this tech already exist. They sell some type of gadget with Laser Keyboard, if they just miniaturize the components this maybe be true one day

Define digitizer, you could have a digitizer in the projection system that see's the interuption of the image and registers that as a key stroke. Open your minds, the people at apple that are designing this stuff are a lot smarter than we are.

@sachsmaster This tech is already in existence. The projected keyboard was first patented in 1992, I can't say if current projected keyboards have teh dimming capabilities or if they're all that accurate but the tehcnology is already there and has been for almost 20 years.

@sachsmaster No, because phones with touchscreens had been available in japan, south korea and other countries since about 2004-2005, maybe even further. Apple wasn't the first to invent this stuff, its just that apple is a popular demand product so most people haven't even heard of this stuff until apple released their own.
@imranh101 Thats not the only "feature" showcased in the video. I'm aware of laser keyboard. But to implement it into a phone it would have to be A LOT thicker, as well as adding quite a lot of weight, not to mention the cost. I've used a laser keyboard. No where near as responsive as we see here. I'm in the hardware business, by the way
This sort of thing does actually exist. I've seen a laser keyboard before, but it was a separate device and quite expensive.
