      Im considering migration from Audition, too. I'm a bit scary because I have been using Adobe for last decade. What is your experience? Is it worth it to changer habits?
      In Audition I can use my iMac and MacBook with one subscription - is it the same with Pro Tools?
      Also I'm a radio spots producer. I think that Audition is simpler than Pro Tools is main task, what is your opinion?

      @@AlanPavletta So since then, I decided to focus all my efforts on Resolve, so I will be switching to Fairlight, which is part of Resolve. But I know the filmmaking industry (at least in Hollywood) is powered by ProTools. So it depends what and where you want to wok at.

    Randy this is great stuff! I’ve been teaching myself Logic Pro but every tutorial on UA-cam seems to be music centered and I just want to do straightforward voice over stuff. Watching your video makes me want to take the leap to Pro Tools. For clarification, are you saying the free version of PT is all I need? Will my Fabfilter bundle move over to the free version? Many thanks.

    • @voices
      @voices 6 місяців тому

      Thanks for watching! I don't see a limitation with adding plug-ins for the free version, but I also haven't tried. It seems like the biggest difference between free and paid are: number of tracks, project length. So you might still be able to use your plugins. You can give it a try since it's free. But you can also check out this link on Avid's site that shows a comprehensive comparison between the different versions.

    Here’s the thing: I just suffered a massive computer crash. Completely lost my old ProTools template, lost access to all my old audio files and am struggling to rebuild my template. Been so long I cannot remember the settings. I’m loving your tutorial but your ProTools looks and acts WAY different than mine. I must have an older version or something

    • @voices

      Outside is a tough sound to replicate as there are little to no reflections. You can start by removing some low and high frequencies to eliminate the proximity effects caused by close mic'ing. Hope this helps -Randy

      Hey Anthony. Generally speaking, people in your situation who aren't seeing any bookings are being blocked by one of two things. This is almost always the case. It's either audio quality or audition amount. It's very rare for someone to be meeting both of those thresholds and still not booking. I'd suggest listening to some of our top talent on our leaderboard. If you audio truly stacks up to theirs (proximity, room noise, compression, total amplitude), then we can rule out audio. Then it comes down to effort. Most talent will start to book gigs between 50-100 auditions submitted. After that, the bookings speed up as you'll build a client-base and have reviews to show for your abilities. You've got this. Hope this helps! -Randy
