Great job guys!!!
I think fishing for big bluegills is more fun than fishing for bass
I absolutely love both of them, but fishing for big bluegill is always a blast.
Way more fun imo
are you fishin with a jig and a wax worm?
Yessir
I've never seen anyone use a a plastic jug and a worm. Do you use that alot?
Yessir that's really the only thing I've ever used for bluegill. What do you usually use?
Brady Miles
We use little Popeye feather jigs topped with meal worms. We go down every year mid May! This year we're going down May 19-22. I'll have to try out your bait combo!!
That was a Warmouth, not rock bass.
It wasn’t until I posted this video that I learned the difference haha. Thanks for the info
Tighten that drag up a little and throw those little ones back in the lake and let then grow up some.
Those "rock bass" are actually warmouth.
Rock, complete different fish.
nice fishing..what bait or lure you using and what size?thanks
We were using bobber rigs with crappie jigs and waxworms at varied depths depending on the location
Brady Miles thank you..yeah i was wondering what that lil thing you put on the tip of the hook and its a wax worm..thank you..and thats 32 size hook?
@@davao0506 no problem! Yeah you are right, they are either 1/16 or 1/32 I can’t remember
Brady Miles thank you..
Knock off the southern rock & BS and start fishing...
Steve Nasset Yes sir Steve I’ll make sure to never listen to southern rock again just to make you happy
Brady just wanted to see more fishing' & less preliminaries - my apologies@@BTMiles13
I appreciate the constructive criticism. However some people would be bored with 16 straight minutes of nothing but fishing. Have to appeal to both sides.@@joannanasset2375
Rock Bass? in Reelfoot? How about a Warmouth. lol There are no Rock Bass in Reelfoot. What you are calling Rock Bass are Warmouths.
Warmouth / Lepomis Gulosus "Despite a passing superficial similarity in appearance, the warmouth should not be confused with its distant relative the Rock Bass"
That's interesting I didn't know that, I always thought rock bass and warmouths were the same. There's so many hybrids like those out there it's hard to keep track of, I guess where I'm from we just refer to all of those as rock bass.
The next time that you catch one of these fish, check out the following ID clues. Warmouth have a tooth patch on the tongue(like Kentucky Bass), Rock Bass do not. Warmouths have three spines on the front of the ventral fin. Rock Bass have six. Warmouth usually are found in lowland waters, for example Reelfoot and most of West Tennessee. Rock Bass inhabit upland waters, Ozarks, Middle Tennessee, etc. I've never caught or seen a Rock Bass between the Mississippi and Tennessee Rivers. Then there are Green Sunfish which are shaped like both, but are generally everywhere, and which I think that you caught and identified in your video! lol
I'll definitely try to identify the differences in the warmouth and explain to the rest of the guys that they're actually warmouths when we're back there in May. I'm from southern Indiana and from what it sounds like in your explanation we always catch rock bass up here and some green sunfish which I believe I can identify. I definitely appreciate the information!
I've never fished in your part of the country, although I would think that warmouths would be present in sloughs off the Ohio river. And, I'm sure that you are catching Rock Bass in upland waters of southern Indiana which is good to know. Good fishing! lol
Love the video man. I live at Reelfoot and this is a great video showing some good fishing that the lake offers. Really enjoyed it man.
Derek Whitson thank you! Hopefully I’ll be able to get back down there ASAP. I love that area
