It’s clear the club wants to invest in its new signings. We have been talking about players wanting to leave for ages now but Potter was going to take Mudryk out of the team after he had played his best game against Leicester and replace him with Pulisic who if it’s to be believed wants to leave and was just coming back from injury. At last, the board made the sensible decision of sacking Potter. It was quite evident that the Chelsea job exceeded his coaching ability. Shocking Lineups, Bizarre subs, terrible tactics and of course, his 'inspiring' post match interviews. That five year contract gave him a false sense of security.
Another thing that fans are not discussing is Boehly's questionable decision making. I can't help but think that Potter was 'sabotaged', here are my reasons:
    1) They brought in players who were suited to Tuchel philosophy and after getting sacked, he had to utilize some of them.
    2) The board did not shift out the deadwood and only focused on incomings. Ziyech ,Kai, Pulisic, RLC, Aubameyang and Gallagher should have been sold.
    3) I highly doubt that the newer players acquired in January were his ideal signings.
The next manager who takes over will need to wary of the dynamics at play within this football club.

It is a no-brainer that Potter would get himself sacked at some point. The players should have known that too. If they really were surprised by the sack, I am worried about the mentality of our current crop of players. The results have been too poor and expecting such a coach to remain at Chelsea shows a low-level loser mentality. I have always found Potter's approach of emotional intelligence fascinating and laughable. Football is a physical and mental sport not some emotional identity play. Potter's mentality was so bad, the club had to tire a mentality coach. One needs to be aggressive(in the right way of course) to succeed as a coach. Hopefully the club gets a young manager that has the right mentality and knowledge to succeed at Chelsea.

The owners must take responsibility for the state of Chelsea today. How does any coach play everyone signed by Boey? Potter’s mistake was he tried to do that. He should have picked his squad suited to his style instead of trying to blend in the new recruits. The incoming manager must be strong enough to say NO to Boey. Tuchel did and got the sack. Potter did not and got the sack.

While ideally Tuchel-era signings, less impressive for a longer term 'project', would be sold (Sterling, etc.), any new manager operating in the context of recent history might want to rely on experience over younger shiny toys. If Chelsea were a low-mid table historical team who got a wealthy new owner with a lesser-known coach, it'd be different, but one wonders if the millstone of the ludicrous transfer 'strategy' can be overcome. Thankfully, the final table position, along with FFP, may force a wholesale dumping of players in the summer (and do we really need another featherweight German league player, 140 lb Nkunku over a striker and midfielder?) that may actually allow development and player satisfaction. Learning quickly from mistakes is paramount, but that's a typical trait of billionaires, one would hope ...

Nini my guy we need to question this ownership more coz they haven’t done anything to escape criticism. The firing of TT and hiring of Potter is something they need to explain in real words not in PR. TT would never allow anyone outside his staff to dictate his team while coaches like Potter r more of the yes man type. The next coach needs to be left to coach the team and not have Boahley and co coaching drunk from the stands…Clear Lake need to prove they r not hiring yes men and need to prove that these directors coaches and co have actual power and not glorified yes men…

Niinii. I respect and understand your sentiments on the board, however I don't think this sacking is about the board not being able to find the right manager for the job, I genuinely think Potter fucked up here, most of us have seen what he's done at Brighton, we all know he was a good manager and his appointment seemed right at that time. He just did not deliver, sure a lot is happening behind the scenes and the size of the squad didn't help him, but if you're a top top manager, you get in there, pick your squad and build on that, he was given so much time to turn things around (I had hoped he did really)

He wasn't sacked because fans didn't like him and that is a cop out...Man is absolutely clueless and one of the most inept managers in top flight I've ever seen. As bad as Lampard's been and only Chelsea board their clueless sporting directors would allow for this to happen. Shameful

its not just the coach, now that he has left. What are we gonna do? play 3 at the back? what about madueke and mudryk? they don't play well in a back three. what about back four? so where will Felix and nkunku play with madueke and mudryk? And who will be the striker? Can mudryk and madueke (inexperienced) players, take Chelsea to titles? do we have the right players, no matter what coach we have, ultimately, you need the players aswell. We have had Lampard, drogue, Terry, Fabregas, costa, hazard, Kante, Do you see any similarities in this squad? anyone who is not 50/50 with his development? who can carry a team? so there is so much that is not working, not just the manager, don't be blind. Boehly went rampage and bought everything without thinking through. He got Mudryk with a panic buy instead of Leao or Kvicha who have played in better leagues, for better teams. He wants Felix when he has Nkunku. This whole team need a few years to get their shit together. a manager won't save the day.
