    David this is by far the best tutorial I have found. You say things in a way I understand like "just click this little button" and this will happen. Thank you for the time you spend on making these. I look forward to more.

    I'm new to Autocad and this is by far the best explanation/tutorial I found. I was able to take my drawing, scale it properly to 11 X 17 paper and export as a multi-page PDF. It turned out perfect!

    Hi there, I have a question. I am trying to print a floorplan paper space in CAD but when I print the PDF has a long diagonal line that is across the whole pdf but this line does not exist in the drawing ( model /paper space) at all . do you know how can I solve this problem?

    • @CADSchulungen
      @CADSchulungen  2 роки тому

      Hi Maria,
      that is a good question - I know from experience that PDF's can sometimes be a pain. What are you using to produce the PDF's? Are you using the virtual printer from AutoCAD?

    Hey! Thanks for the tips. I have a question: I'm trying to create a couple paper spaces where the area stays the same for construction plans/demolition plans etc. How would you go about creating these viewports so they are in the exact same spot every time?
    Thanks again!

    • @CADSchulungen
      @CADSchulungen  Рік тому

      Hi Stephanie. I would use copy click - and then the option insert with original coordinates, or alternatively CTRL + shift + c to define a base point e.g. 0,0 and CTRL V with insertion point 0,0.
      Another option is to copy your layout instead of making a new one, starting from scratch!
      Hope that helps.
      Kind regards from sunny Cologne.

    Excellent video. well presented and explained. Question: to maintain common text size, all text must be placed in paper space?

    • @CADSchulungen
      @CADSchulungen  5 років тому +1

      Hi Michael - thanks for your comments! The question is a good one, since (as is so often the case with AutoCAD) there are a number of options open to us. Putting our text in paper space is the simplest way of doing things - no worries either about scale (text size) or layer. If you do want to put some text in model space, for which there can be good reasons, the text would have to be given a height to match the scale in which it is shown. You can do that using an appropriate text style, by setting height in the object properties, or by using the annotation function. Unfortunately I have not yet made a video to demonstrate that...

    Thank you David, good job and to the point. I am wondering if you have any video on how electronically sign adrawing with-in acad, if you can elaborate on the use of pallet, the signature sharpness on top of a stamp after drawing is plotted. oh btw,The sound at the introduction and end of the video for some reason is mute and can be much clearer, although it is excellent most of the time.

    • @CADSchulungen
      @CADSchulungen  4 роки тому

      Hello Mr. Mou Rid,
      Normally it should be the case with all viewports. If you are not seeing this it could simply be that your Viewport is active - click on MODEL in the Status Bar (the one towards the right, not the one on the left) or do a left double click somewhere outside all viewports. However you do it, the word PAPER should be there in the status bar. Then you should see the scale grip when you select the viewport. If you still do not see it, it could simply be that you are using an older version of AutoCAD which does not include this feature...

    When I dimension in model space I get the correct dimension. In this case it is 25'-0" but when I move over to paper space the exact same object now dimensions to 3". Is there a setting in AutoCAD that takes care if the scale between paper space and model space. I dont want to have to go into the dimension style manager for every drawing to set the scale factor. This is a setting Im not familiar with if there is one.
    Thanks very much.

      Hi Todd, you have a good question there, sorry it has taken too long to get back to you! Sometimes the problem is simply picking the wrong snap point. But check if the variable DIMASSOC is set to '2'. That did it with me!

    • @thamlintx
      @thamlintx 5 років тому

      @@CADSchulungen yeah the DIMASSOC is set to "2". Another odd event along the same lines is that when I use Dimreassociate the scale of the dimension goes all haywire as well. Ive used AutoCAD since Rel 8 in DOS and Im completely stumped.

    I have a problem, when I get a print preview from my layouts, all viewports' boundaries are included on it.
    I have my frame and title I just need print veiwports without any boundary.

      salaam agha Mohammad jan,
      you are most welcome.
      I usually have my viewpoints on a layer I name Viewports (I know, it is a bit obvious). I change the plot status of this layer in the Layer Manager to do not plot - it is the 6th column in the manager with the little plotter symbol. Then although I can still see the viewport boundaries, they do not appear on paper or pdfs.

    Any ideal why I can not modify anything under paperspace? I can under model space

    • @CADSchulungen
      @CADSchulungen  5 років тому

      Without seeing what you are trying, I would guess that you are in layout/paperspace. To modify model space, you just have to do a double click with the left mouse button in the middle of one of your viewports...

      I am trying to create two new viewport. If I understand it correctly you need to be in paperspace,highlight the image that you want to make a new viewport of. Delete the image, than under the layout tab select the rectangular viewport. Select where you would like it placed the new viewport(s). Sorry if I called something wrong still learning what everything is called.
      When I am under paperspace I can not modify anything??? Is something locked?

    • @CADSchulungen
      @CADSchulungen  5 років тому

      Hi John,
      I am not sure what you mean with highlighting and deleting an image - sounds like a totally profi method! I just skip to the last part - select rectangular viewport activate it (that's the double click inside part) and zoom to the parts of the drawing I want to show. Set the scale, and lock.

      It is a good question which i cannot answer right now - I suspect it has to do with the fact that I reinstalled AutoCAD in a user account which does not have full admin rights. It has not bothered me enough to investigate, but since I know I am not the only one to experience this, I will investigate! And keep you posted...

      Thanks David, i drawn traverse, after that i set my Plot dialogue box,
      Printer/plotter - ‘DWG to PDF.pc3’
      Paper size ‘ISO full bleed A4 (297.00 x 210.00 MM)
      SCALE 1:1000@A4
      so, my question is can you show me how to do layout page " viewport and title block" in my traverse. Finally, I have Autocad english 2018 test next week and i need some tips about shortcut such as Qleader and rotating text to line, i mean i have to be faster during the test because i have only one hour to draw, any tips please.
