- Hi Fam! It's been a full year since I uploaded my very first Butcher Box Unboxing so it's fitting that I give you a review on the subscription service. Before I committed to Butcher Box, I searched and I couldn't find in depth reviews or opinions on BB, so I thought it would be helpful for those of you that like to have more than an unboxing in order to make a decision. It's a little long because I try to go over everything but if you're inpatient, try increasing the speed of the video. I do a custom box, as I am picky. I think it’s fun seeing what they offer that month. I did have an item come damaged i took a pic and they replaced it.
I thought about changing to custom cause you get more but honestly I don't feel like picking. I like being surprised. Their customer service is amazing.

It does last. I live in GA too and everything was still solid as a rock! I didn't get to it until 6pm ish. Now it was in early November...still hot sometimes but everything was very solid. If anything place a cooler on your front porch so that they will put it in there.

My mum grew up on a farm and talked about how fresh the meat tasted when they ate it off the yard. You're right, you can taste the difference in meats. The fresh off the yard meat was actually too fresh for her and she wouldn't eat it, lol.
So true. My mom says the same thing. You can also taste the difference in eggs. Makes you really think 🤔.

WATCH OUT for slits in the packaging!!! I have experienced this several times. Good cust. service and they replaced but concerned about possibility of bacteria getting in the raw meat! Still ordering from them but check your packaging. If it leaks when thawed, their is OPENINGS in packaging!!

Am looking into buying this and so glad I came across a sista’s channel and I will be using ur code. I live in nyc and the meat here is absolutely disgusting unless you go to Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s. For now it is my boyfriend and I so the portions will def work! We have personally spent 200$+ at Costco on meat ALONE. Because we usually only buy meat at Costco...for beef I would say it’s a huge deal. The chicken you can proll get cheaper. The seafood here is terrible quality esp the fake salmon in the city smh. Thank you for the detailed review !

Sis is not lying when she said “it will defrost.” I just had my first delivery and if someone was not living with me then it would have defrosted in a few more minutes outside in the Las Vegas heat.
You should add on all the for life deals the have every month and it’ll be a better value
Great review! The meat suppose to taste different its grass fed grass finished beef and organic chicken. Where most of our supermarket meats are grain fed..

In 2022, meat prices and quality is just insane. I bet this subscription cost has gone up. We've been eating a lot of chicken simply because that's what we can afford. I like the idea of a subscription but I certainly don't need prices to go up without my knowing it. I'm on the fence with this.
Also us going to the supermarket is an Uber expense of almost 40$....it’s a mess ..so having this delivered is legit a life saver
@me me first of all im in an absn program, and i work full time so the last thing i am is lazy. Obviously I used to go to the supermarket and I STILL GO however it is VERY convenient to get heavy items delivered. for me its very helpful to get a 40lb bag of rice delivered, or a 30lb bag of cat food, I do not have time to do what I used to do which is go to Costco via public transport , wait online for an hour, and take 1.5 hours to get back home so please stfu about uber. I dont have all day to go grocery shopping unlike you it seems

I have moved up to the big custom box. I like that you can switch between any box size or variety at any time and not deal with any penalty or hidden fees. Major pro there. Shoop, I’ll cook the defrosted meat anyway and eat that stuff up. I ain’t wasting my money. If it still has a little slight coolness, I’m good.
Prices as of Dec. 9, 2022:
Custom Box - $169 for 9-14lbs of meat = $12.07 to $18.78 per pound, (average = $15.43).
Other Boxes - $146 for 8-11lbs of meat = $13.27 to $18.25 per pound, (average = $15.76).

I'm not sure. I think the link is for $30 off the first month, so if they are offering free ground beef for the life of the subscription I would not use my link.

I absolutely love Butcher Box. I have been subscribed for a little over 2 years now. I could get meats locally but I haven't found anyone who grass feeds only. They feed finish the last 2 weeks before butchering. That's like someone who eats really good for their whole life and then binges on McDonald's for 2 weeks. That ruins the composition of your body and the quality of the meat. I do find the box I get is expensive and it is only me and my husband in my home but I always have meat left by the time my next box comes. I have 5 bags of cod in my downstairs freezer because we eat most of the other meats first and only the fish every other week. I gotta change that. Also, families may eat more meat in a serving than what they should. In my opinion, the taste does not taste too much different but its nice to know that the animals are ethically treated over what I have researched about conventional market meats - this provides quality meat - and some conventional meats are dyed for aesthetic purposes. Have you even priced the meats you would get in the custom box with what you would buy in the market on a monthly basis? I am meaning to do this. I am so sorry you didn't like it. I have seen Omaha Steaks and the Good Rancher as well but Butcher Box provides the variety I like. I buy my ground beef at Walmart under the Marketside grass fed option. In regards to proportions - its best to make your veggies the primary star on any given plate instead of the meat. The label says what it should for me to be ok with it so I buy the ground beef when I need it. Bottom line...its best to spend money now on good quality food than to spend it on insurance premiums, doctor bills, and medications.
Sounds like you need to get a larger custom box for the size of your family. I think 9-14 lbs is good for single person to a couple for a month. I'm ordering my first box and thinking about doing Keto diet. I have a Whole Foods that's 25 miles away. So, not convenient to drive 30 minutes to get quality grass-fed meats. Also, my job is 10 minutes away from my home. No issues with delivery spoilage. I like the portioning too. Being able to get frozen already portioned cuts of meat is great for 1-2 people. Thanks for going over quality and taste of the meats. I have not viewed any videos that mention taste of meat.
I discovered I don't like grass-fed. I want regular fatty tasty beef that has a steak like flavor. The price is not a factor, it was ordering beef on line and it is a recurring charge that the bank honors. If you don't want to keep buying it, you would have to cancel but without having the chance to cancel, I updated their calendar and they charged me double.
all about being an educated consumer. Your grocery store is going to carry some decent and shitty cute because they want to optimize their profits. Your local butcher takes pride in their products (I hope) & your dollar will go much further as far as quality goes. I never eat steaks from a Chain super market.

NoW google butchers near me and see how much money you could’ve spent supporting your local farms/business with much higher quality cuts! 1200$ spent on the butcher box could’ve bought you much, much more!!

Yeah, but at least it's tasty. I found butcher box has no taste and nothing I was familiar. I thought it taste was not fresh.
