I got one my father found on the street around 20 years ago! In 2019 I rescued it from the box where it had been kept for years and it was working fine (except for the flash). Since then i've been using it to take some pretty decent pictures (my icon image here is an exemple). Thanks for the video, cheers from Paraty - Rj, Brasil.
Micahel, thanks for the DOPE information and 🔥☠🥶🧼 Photos... Is the Epoca the only model of the 3 that will print out captions? Thanks in advance. Peace, Love, and Happiness!!!
Hey! Yes, there are buttons on the camera for both. You can choose the caption number on the lcd and there is a specific timer button on the top of the camera.
I believe the 135 had a longer zoom range but has a smaller aperture - so the epoca caption would be slightly better in low light but tbh I would imagine there wouldn’t be much difference in quality
i have the same camera but recently I have been putting film and it is not advancing, it keeps showing me 0 on the panel. My battery has been used in only 3 rolls. would you know what might be the issue if you have faced this?
My Photura just arrived from eBay, and I think it works but the flash won't fire. I loaded up a roll of Kodak 200 and whether it works or not it was only $10 and it'll look interesting on my knick knack shelf.
That’s a shame about the flash, but if the rest works it’s still a capable camera ☺️ I hope for your sake it doesn’t become a shelf queen and you get some nice photos out of it.
@@MichaelNette Actually just bought another one that's been tested on eBay after I posted this comment. It was a little more, but still cheaper than dinner for two.
Hi 👋🏻, as far as I know there is no off button, but closing the cap will reserve power. The only power it uses when cap is closed is to keep the frame counter visible. (Which wouldn’t use much if any power) so I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
I would imagine if it’s still says 0 then the film wouldn’t have wound on properly. The camera still goes off even without film so I’d say try pulling abit more of the film leader out and make sure that it is lined up on the left where it says “film”
@@amlakialochana263 if the film is stuck, and you’re not comfortable / able to get it out I’d suggest taking it to your local lab and they would most likely have a way of getting it out. They may also be able to help with the issue the camera is having
if you are recording your voice with XLR microhpone, it will be nice if you use proper gain setting on your preamp or just boost it in editing. Audioe here is toooo quiet
Once you press the rewind button on the back, you open the same latch where you place the film in. Then you can pull it out by the canister tip or turn the camera over and the canister will fall out

That’s so cool to hear! Amazing that it’s still working ☺️
I picked one of these up for free on facebook marketplace, keen to give it a good ol spin!
Loving your videos keep them up!
Thank you J, I appreciate it!

Hi! Do you know how to enable the captions and the timer?
Hey! Yes, there are buttons on the camera for both. You can choose the caption number on the lcd and there is a specific timer button on the top of the camera.
How much do you sell it for. I had one like yours. It was stolen from me. now I have a digital camera. But I still miss my canon epoca caption
Great review, thanks !
No worries, glad you enjoyed it 😁
My caption is season's greeting instead of happy new year
How can I convert the photos to a computer?
Just bought a week ago. Amazing.
Hi is there quality difference between canon epoca 135 vs epoca caption only

My film has loaded and apparently advanced but the panel shows 0, can I do something to fix it? Are photos being taken?

Haha yeah, thanks for the tip but at this point I was still figuring the audio out 😅
What battery does it use ?
It uses a 2cr5 battery from memory
how to remove the film?
