As a German, I can tell you, the pronounciation is often very american/artiifcial and not german. So, it might help, but is not very accurate.

I found a lot of these words and phrases totally irrelevant to everyday conversation for someone beginning to learn German. Far too many Americanisms which are of no use whatsoever.
A waste of time.
