The best part of this staging is when he pulls the figure out you see the rocket fall out and then later asks the guy if he has the rocket and then proceeds to pull a bag out of the bag that has the rocket safely stored.
Hope ya'll know that the owner of the store and Jordan set this whole thing up. It wasn't even his figure. It's actually Ed's the Kenner guy. He brought his in for the show. Ed sold it to Jordan. The comic book store owner did NOT buy it for $10 worth of baseball cards. Just another reality show script to make it seem like Jordan found it. As a local resident, you get to know a lot of Kenner collectors and this just really rubbed me wrong. Oh well.
It figures. Just like the Picker show these guys dont just show up and did through random crap...and then POOF a super rare item in all the rust appears in perfect shape. Cmon. Reality my @$$.
Reminds me also on that "Road Show" estimators, people bring in stuff they KNOW is valuable so as to get a pro to state a price then they get exposure and thus a more firm value for their stuff...They act all surprised, but met a few who knew a couple people who appeared on the show and confirmed they did know it was valuable.
Jordan: Okay, I tell you what... you paid 10 bucks for it 25 years ago. I'll pay you 20 bucks today for that rare figure. Guy: "Holy moly!!! That's double the price. Sounds good to me. Deal".
Ironically, now Hasbro makes all sorts of stuff that shoots rockets, ships, figures with accessories, etc. I've never seen an actual rocket firing Boba Fett in person either. I know a lot of collectors, some of whom are far more serious about it than I am, and they've never seen one in person, only pictures and videos like this.
If these are experts, then why didn't they realize that the "L" slot was even more rare than the "J"? Also, some have serial numbers on the leg. Those are even more rare.

As soon as I seen this video clip that memory punched forward in my mind.
All I can say is that I’ve got $10,000 burning a hole in my pocket for that figure and I guarantee he’d never let it go for that. Not just a false episode, but an incredibly lowball value.
I think this was the same episode where he also just so happened to find a Wonderbread He-Man in the same general area, around the same span of time. Yeeeeah...

The one on Pawn Stars was painted and carded ready for the retail market, but it was never released. This is the unpainted prototype, That's reason for the price difference.
Could you please elaborate on that one... I have had a L-slot rocket fett in factory unpainted gray (no rocket included) for 27 years now...mostly assumed naturally that it was most likely not real until recent new information surfaced contradicting that... This is my story; So a tween kid and dad brought it into my toy/comic book shop to trade it for practically nothing ( for a terrible lose toybiz wonder woman figure for his sister) which was completely odd because even if it had been a repro custom of the highest quality then it would have been worth way more than the trade anyways (and of course countless times more valuable if it proves real)and why the hell would they even have this as I had crazy things like Uzays and Proof Revenge boxes from Todd Chamberlain etc. but not a rocket fett ever...and even more odd when I interrogated them about it was that the kid was too young to be a fan of star wars and didn't want it... he said his uncle had sent it to him when he was too young to remember so I took.the bait and asked if there were other toys too that he ever sent to him and they said no and it was just only ever the Fett figure ...I asked why did he sent it and the dad said he just wanted his son to have it and not sure why and thought it was also strange ...i asked if they knew what the uncle sent the nephew and they said "its a star wars" guy ...so I asked if the uncle had worked in the toy industry and they both said they did not know(the uncle was on the Mothers side and she was not there for questioning and the dad did not apparently know him well)... i asked if the uncle had lived in Ohio.and they said they didn't know if he ever did but did say he lived on the East Coast and may have lived in Pennsylvania before... They were not lying and had no financial motive either and didn't even seem to know what they had or care for or any care if I wanted it or not...I asked WHY they brought it to me and they said they saw my toy store in the paper or on the news (dont remember which one but either was possible)... I was an experienced dealer even back then and yet completely baffled about it... the one bad thing about the boba at that time was that it DID have the COO stamped on it and I was aware of at that time that Tomarts wrote the arcticle debunking rocket fetts and that any boba with a COO could never be legit... but I am skeptical about "experts" definitive knowledge on things that is second hand from sources and still being newly evolved and revealed and was hoping that just maybe they were not 100% correct in their info that no unpainted boba protype can have a COO.stamp...other than that the one I picked up then is identical to everthing else I had seen and compared with of a legit one.. I did also remember a little before that time an ad in the ToY Shop resale newsprint magazine for boba fett rocket fett conversions but I have seen one of those to compare and have only read about them.being more obvious (and painted) ...so I stuck mine away for a few decades assuming it 99.9% not a prototype but not 100%...and NOW recently I finally see a new discovery revelation that Brian Rachfal had put up for auction and STAMPED COO grey unpainted L slot rocket fett identical to mine now debunking Tomarts old facts . ..now what do I do?!!?... I really want to know more about and see what those 1990s fake customs were that you mention to eliminate that possibility too of course... Ive only had a few.local other toy veterans look it over here and they believed it real and I had an expert plastics mold injector maker also inspect it and explain to me he believed its construction legitimate with sonic welding etc... but I both doubt its real because of probabilith and yet believe it could be at the same time ...and in over 30 years of collecting and traveling other countries for toys and having had my store for 28 years I have come across some complete (almost) unique and amazing items even more rare than a rocket fett... and never again so much any more now a days. .but 30 years ago it was very different and there were many amazing treasure to be snagged if you could recognize them and some I still have to.this day... and others I regretfully sold off to keep the dwindling store alive and running...
