    Great review! Was able to test ride the 2018 Heritage with the 107 here in the states, and was able to judge the difference from the 2007 Heritage I owned. Less weight, balance great, and handling was wonderful on the twisties, without scrapping as my 2007 was prone to do. I now own a 2014 Ultra classic. Great touring bike, loaded with everything I don’t need, and getting too heavy for this old man of 66 maneuvering around locally with my wife on the back. Long story short, I have a 2018 Heritage 114 on order. Back to fun riding. Be safe, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, keep both wheels on the pavement,

    Best reveiw of this bike on UA-cam! Thanks for the excellent video!

    Funny. I had the same opinion of it until I saw Matt Laidlaws review of it. Got to test ride one today along with the Fatbob and Lowrider. The Heritage (with the 114) not only had the power but seemed to handle a little better as well. HD have done a great job on the new Softail line. Which one to buy though? Decisions, decisions.

    I rode both the 114 and the 107 a few weeks ago. I never would have said it before this year, but I'm actually thinking of getting a Heritage just because of how good it is riding two up with my wife, and how easily it can be stripped of fairing and bags for playing around on by myself.

      John B i have an 04 road king but really thinking about getting this. How is it 2 up all day riding or small trips?

    Excellent review! I'm on the fence over the Heritage Classic or a Roadking. So far, it sounds like the Heritage would be more fun and versatile.

      Heritage all the way. Roadking is a bit heavy or sluggish in low speed maneuvers .

    I`m a Brit who was lucky enough to cruise a 2017 Heritage down Hwy1 Frisco to LA last summer. I`m sure the new bike is better in almost ever way, better engine and less weight, I just wish HD had kept the chrome. It puts the class in classic.

    I had one on loan for 2 days. Surprisingly good to use, however, I am 6 feet tall and the screen is just at the wrong height. It was buffeting my head so badly that after about 10 minutes in the saddle, I had a pounding headache.

  • @kevinheflin5300
    @kevinheflin5300 4 роки тому +1

    yeah, but you can't fit nearly as much into the new saddle bags as you could fit into the 2017 and earlier. And personally, I prefer the look of the older. Sure the new ones are lockable.. but you can't even fit a half helmet in there. Also, personally glad to see that in the 2020 on to 107 models, they brought back the chrome.

    I was just talking to a local sales rep for the local Harley dealer and he just bought a Heritage from a Fat Bob and he loves it. I have to be honest, I do not care for the styling of this bike. Great review though. As always, fantastic video!

    great review, Id be interested what the highest cruising speed is, im guessing the 107 and the 114 cinch engines have no problem staying well above the national speed limit,,,,

    I'm in total agreement with you as far as the pipes, they should have gone all the way. Not a big fan of mixing the black with the chrome.

    Do be careful when referring to a 5 gallon tank, since that is US gallons. In UK, it is just slightly over 4 imperial gallons.

    Thank you very much for the review! I’ve ordered 107 variant, and now I’m a bit nervous, because I’ve found in many reviews, that people say that 107 engine is very jerky against 114, and is not that smooth as 114. Can you agree with that? What do you think about the gas smoothness of 107 engine?

  • @Noobmaster-ki1yb

    Just a question from a newbie.. isn't the gap on the break pedal supposed to not fit your foot under? so that you won't get jammed in any way in case you need to use it?

    Dude I think the new Harley's really are geared towards you younger guys and I am a huge heritage fan and I just can get use to the new one. You can check my old turd out on a short vid on my channel which has 100 hp and I've done a few trips over 3000 miles on it in total comfort

    • @Motonewbrider
      @Motonewbrider  6 років тому

      "my old turd" - lol. I've heard the same from another heritage fan, intact two who I know really don't like the new ones because of the modern look. Completely agree I feel this is the most comfortable harley i've been on.

    I got a chance to look but not ride. it,s a grate look and sound just stock. You can pack it up and go long. Or strip it down for a town ride. Supper nice.

  • @crewgadjy

    Its got a full dresser style rear fender/mudguard why the hell would you put a dum side plate on it. All you need to do is put a flat mounted plate on, preferably below the light ( would need a new light unit with lower window for plate illumination ), or even a flat mounted one that sits where current one is. Ditch the full size plate though for a slightly naughty smaller plate.

    Another excellent review, Newb. But tell me: do you think the lack of a Sat/Nav will turn Virgos off? Should it have dual disc fronts to get the Leos interested? And are all the changes to the Softie line enough to persuade Taurus folks to switch to H-D? More information please.
    And a very Happy Christmas to you and yours, M.

    Looks like a 40's barn find. Guess at least there's no need to worry about it being dirty as it already looks that way.
    Just noticed that bag locking brace that sticks halfway into the opening. You'd have to screw it off and on to get a bag full of clothes in there. I do prefer the leather bags as they can be kicked getting on and off without scuffing them all to hell, but that brace across the opening is a dumb design.

  • @michaelohara2161
    @michaelohara2161 6 років тому

    The 2017 has plastic reinforced saddle bags. There is no sag.. The 2016 and earlier does not. 2018 is the first year for lockable bags.
