I love Hamish Stuart. His voice has rocked me to sleep and awakened me from sleep for the last forty years and I thank God I was born in the era I was to appreciate that beautiful voice of his. Keep it going Hamish.
One of the most unique, soulful, and emotive voices ever. The prototype 70s funk band that could also perform awesome ballads (Cloudy, A Love of Your Own, etc.)
way back in the day when they were first starting out ( awb ) the nights at the odeon edinburgh were truly magical, thgeir legacy will live on forever.
Thank you HAMISH!!! His voice is still JAMMING!! Remember him well with the soulful sound of AWB!! Oh lord... He is the coolest dude around knowing how to groove just right!!! Stylin' and breakin' down!!
Hamish Stuart and the Average White Band is one of my favorite bands from the almighty 70s era. Time to go back and listen to Pickup the Pieces, A love of Your Own, School Boy Crush, etc., etc, .................
I 'stumbled upon' Hamish Stuart while watching Paul McCartney's "I lost my little girl'' (Wings) very RECENTLY, ... and was totally awe-struck by Hamish Stuart. It took me weeks to find his name, as it wasn't mentioned in Paul's UA-cam. I can't believe I've missed him all this time. (My whole life.) But, I guess it's never too late to watch and enjoy him. I love his voice, his stage presence, and his rare talent. UA-cam recommended this one for me, and I hope I can find more and more. (He also plays with Ringo Starr in "Octopus Garden" on Y.T. ) I searched and searched just to find 'glimpses of him. Now, I think I've been able to find more of his music every day. Thankful
PS: Also shocked to read how badly Paul McCartney treated H. Stuart, which eventually led to a lawsuit against Macca. No wonder PM tries to block him out of the vids he did with Paul.
If that ain’t some of the coldest pocket playing that side of the Atlantic then I don’t know what it is.. this ain’t no ( politically correct ) r&b pocket , this is a Soul music House party pocket. !
AWB is great but his voice is an acquired taste. Today he wouldn’t make it. Alan Gorrie would make it easily today. Much better voice but again Hamish as a whole with Alan, classic

Nobody does it like Hamish Stuart he's so cool and soulful. I'm showing my age with this expression, but Hamish is BOSS!
Aaaaaaaàiiaià
That's how you let the groove build. No hurry. Love it!
Yeah! Said it all

Thank you for sharing. Hamish is one bad dude! The band is excellent too. love this song, I can't get enough of listening to it. Thanks again!
way back in the day when they were first starting out ( awb ) the nights at the odeon edinburgh were truly magical, thgeir legacy will live on forever.
Hamish still plays funky soul!
Great to hear, thanks for the upload Gary.
Hell yeah! Oh how I wish you would come to Washington DC!
So soulful...So good...Always was and that never changes!!!
Thank you HAMISH!!! His voice is still JAMMING!! Remember him well with the soulful sound of AWB!! Oh lord... He is the coolest dude around knowing how to groove just right!!! Stylin' and breakin' down!!
Hamish took the person to person song and made it the best ever
A song for 2022, when there's no longer person-to-person contact...
Hamish Stuart and the Average White Band is one of my favorite bands from the almighty 70s era. Time to go back and listen to Pickup the Pieces, A love of Your Own, School Boy Crush, etc., etc, .................
Got to meet him at Beatlefest 2000 in Los Angeles. Cool guy
Though I could hear his voice changing a bit. It happens with age, he still grooves and is the voice we recognize with AWB.
Really ? LoL . I can't hear it
he still know how to use that husky raspy falsetto voice and Jam
Git it now baby. Hamish. Person to person. Break it dow n now
Bruh...I don't know how he does it
Dang Hammish has got some rhythm and swagger.

Look at average white band, the groove st band (with tower of power) since the 70's
@@blueskiesblue he's jealous cause Hamish Stuart can sing his ass off compared to his singing. He's really a notch above Paul and his band.
Music is so tight
no one has a voice in modern day soul in britain like hamish, and that has been his territory for decades.
What a great discovery!
AWB, my all time favorite band
This Funk never gets old!!
Chust sublime......Hamish still funkin it, look out for 2020 gigs
Lol Hamish has a long Box head.
love it... and that guitar solo. whew!!!
Person to person. Person to person. Person to person.
I love this man 🤩🤩♂️🤩
This is the best I've seen him since AWB.
Showing some of that AWB swag!
If that ain’t some of the coldest pocket playing that side of the Atlantic then I don’t know what it is.. this ain’t no ( politically correct ) r&b pocket , this is a Soul music House party pocket. !
…. and despite all that talent … one of the nicest guys you could meet.
He should get together with Daryl Hall and jam ! 🤯😍🤯😍
Definitely .Either way . This is just as good
I believe a input plug to the board wasn't plugged in all the way which made this recording in and out, sound wise.
Yes, he STILL has it!!!!
Going to see him at the Jazz Cafe in London next month
*He absolutely⚰️💀 KILLED THIS😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍*
the great voice of AWB......
I don't love artist, but i like style. Beat like dark side, sounds good.
the man himself, and snake on the horn, what's not to like ? so much quality on show.
Enjoyed the original version.
They greats don't play a studio recording in a live show dum dum
@anthonytaylor7928 this is dum dum. Buy the way dumb is spelled with a "B"
couldn't find a date on the internet at the jazz cafe.when is he on?
i wonder if Hamish will back with awb for there last tour next year ?? x
A pocketful of funk.
Looks like Jody Linscott on percussion.

I would kill for AWB reunion!!!!!!!
I was never very good at texting, actually “ Moon River” requested.
Mr. Stuart, How about Moon River.

So that's what Andrew Neil does when he's not interviewing politicians...
i love hamish, but hes better with the boys ....allan gorrie and buds
Ok .. but I gotta say that these cats groove meter is sticking it hard on this joint .. the drummer got the pocket on lock
the whole gig: ua-cam.com/video/nsxPTBEwzGI/v-deo.html
This was a bad ass song back in the day. Person to person. White boys had it going on on the funk side
AWB and Rubicon definitely had that Blue eyed funk . 🤟🏾
Snake Davis on tenor?
this wasn't an average white boy he had soul power
still does
And he knows it.
And an absolute gentleman.
Yassss. Get on down wit the git down.
He, Michael McDonald, Barry Gibb, Daryl Hall & Kenny Loggins should make a good blue-eyed soul chorus.
Boz Scaggs too
@@derekrucker3992 I agree.
@@derekrucker3992 Peter Lemongello should also be in that soul chorus, too; because he & Boz Scaggs sound good together.
Hamish is a bad ass
im half asleep xx hs ace musician xx
salve,salve💃🕺🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚

My 👨 👍 👌 👍 👌
Shit hot
Average white band. Yes. I have the album.
ace lead xx
No white people were playing funk back in the 70s except these musicians.
Rubicon .. Vanilla Gorilla “ 78 “
The guitar solo sucks, this ain't no country joe rock tune, it's funk, didn't you get the memo?
Every 70s era artist has been doing that hip-hop beat in their songs ever since the 90s. It's cheap and played out.
AWB is great but his voice is an acquired taste. Today he wouldn’t make it. Alan Gorrie would make it easily today. Much better voice but again Hamish as a whole with Alan, classic
