An important detail is that star rating only matters in two contexts:
-going for specific masked carnival challenges to only use spells of a certain rating
-learning spells unsynced/in the overworld, if you level sync a duty you are guaranteed the spell as long as you are alive* when the enemy dies**
Also, BLU can queue into duties with other jobs, but it has to be a preformed party through party finder. They just can't be used in any duty/roulette that specifically excludes them (i.e; ultimates, delubrum reginae, etc)
*You also have to be within render distance of the enemy, which matters in a couple of fights due to specific bullshittery (see: Phantom Train) but also in dungeons if you die and no one can revive you. You can just respawn and sprint to the boss door and still get credit for the spell
**There are a couple situations where an enemy's HP goes to 0 but they do not technically die after using a spell so you can't learn that spell from that specific instance (see: Onslaughter in A8N)

@@MythSamaelFFXIV npnp. There's just a lot of misinfo out there regarding quite a bit of things BLU related so as a BLU enthusiast I try to curb it where possible
With the new world being the birthplace of the Blu it deserves a proper set of job quests to go with the expansion

Yeah, I can only wish they go all out for blue mages. I’m massively coping rn that they just toss the idea of keeping the limited jobs 10 levels below cap just because the new world is the birthplace of blue magic and let us access the dungeons there but not so much the raid tiers yet until idk when beast master arrives.
Also please for the love of god I pray they don’t lock a BLU relic again behind content they can’t even do.

I did everything I could solo as BLU, but hit a wall where I have no choice but to hop into partyfinder and try to find people to help me get certain trial/raid/dungeon spells.
But I'm an anti-social misanthrope who just wants to be able to push the queue button and silently be shoved into a group with a bunch of randos who also see conversation as cancer.
Pro tip . Yokai event coming up. Its alot of fates if u play on farming all the pets and weapons. Do it as Blue mage !

BLU is definitely a Job I am building up to try. Need a refreshing change of pace, honestly.
Its really fun an differant and with the Yokai event ocming out in a couple of days itll be a good job to play whilst fate farming if your interested in the event
I'm just tired of grinding my Dex DoW Jobs to 90. I haven't even started any DoM. But BLU really intrigues me. So yeah, I think I will.

I don't think you should play BLU at all in Dawntrail, the MSQ starts at level 90, BLU only reach level 80.
