About the Gimmighoul theory, I believe that the Gimmighoul are actually the incarnations of the merchant that brought the ruinous treasures to the emperor.
It is stated that upon receiving such treasures, the emperor bathed the merchant in gold. This could be literal. In the past, a very peculiar method of execution in Spain (and I believe other european countries) consisted in pouring liquid gold into the throat of the victim (a bit hardcore). So I believe that the king literally bathed the merchant in gold, turning him into a golden ghost, Gholdengo.
This was the thing that made the ruinous treasures finally awaken, as it is stated that they were born from the accumulation of negative emotions over the years. They destroyed the castle and caused huge damage all over Paldea. They probably also split Gholdengo in many parts, thus creating Gimmighoul.
And guess where you can find wandering Gimmighoul most prominently? Exactly, at the region's ruins, remembering the place where he lost his life.
But that's just a theory (a game theory)
a Gaaaaaaaame theory
Only clowns put this much thought into this

👏👏👏👏
I like Mabosstiff because of Arven's story, but it would have been more fitting for his ace to be Daschbun wouldn't it? Would complete his food themed team more
Very true!!
Well, Ortega needed a signature new fairy type and Tinkaton was already taken by Poppy.
If it was daschbun Arven could replace the bread and heal it
It is a butcher though, so it still has merit
Perhaps, but would Daschbun eating sandwiches be partial cannibalism? 🤔
There's a great easter egg where if you find a serviper and a zangoose spawning close together they fight in reference to their gimmick.
The distant land from where Quaxly came is a clear reference to Brazil.
Why?
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is based on the Iberian Peninsula. Which is not only Spain but also...Portugal.
Portugal has a strong connection to Brazil and it's pretty common to have brazilian people migrating to Portugal.
Quaquaval is obviously inspired by the Carnaval (it's literally a part of its name).
It's a dancer that looks exactly like the dancers from Rio de Janeiro's Carnaval.
i get your point, but there is a famous carnaval in spain too, at Canary islands, and it looks really similar to brazil carnaval. greetings!
You celebrate Carnaval in Portugal as well, It’s not as big of an event as it is in Brazil but It’s still celebrated
Squakabilly could also be from South America, which would make it and Quaxly obtainable in the fangame Pokemon Sage, since Urobos is South America, where Mew can also be found
@@hartofvg2691 yeah, but Quaxly is said to come from a "distant land" and Quaquaval's fighting animations use capoiera as a base. It's pretty obviously meant to be Brazilian. Plus, all three starters are based on festivals with heavy Iberian influence in the Americas.
Hassel's cryptic message in one of the gyms "All paths lead to the Great Crater of Paldea" makes more sense on repeat playthroughs. Since that means all story paths.
So, I just found a cool additional secret that I thought would be cool to share. The green festival poster from the Teal Mask reveal trailer have been hanging on a window and signboard on the outside of the Treasure Eatery in Medali. I even went back and checked a near release date playthrough to confirm it wasn't a new stealth addition. Another case of Game Freak slipping in something for us to notice after the fact.
I think PhillyBeatz already pointed that oit yesterday or two days ago. But yeah, it's there.
Something worth noting is in early seasons of the Pokémon anime, you do see several characters, including Ash himself, holding the poke ball upside down.
From a longtime Aussie fan, thought I'd just let you know that we don't use the name Ayers Rock anymore. It's exclusively Uluru. Here's to hoping for that Aussie region, would be my dream come true.
Are you a Australian UA-camr viewer.
I find it dumb that you don't use either.
Glad that was covered already
Aussie Aussie Aussie!
@@LancerIndustriesyeah I stopped by to say the same
That, and it’s pronounced “Airs Rock”. But it does actually go by the First Nations name of Uluṟu, pronounced as “Oolooroo”. Thanks for posting this comment. I was literally just about to myself hahahahahaha!! And Uluṟu is beautiful to see, especially at sunset.
More Lokix trivia!
Its base form got its color scheme from Kamen Rider Black, which coincidentally had a reboot movie released 1 month prior to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Its shiny form is based on Kamen Rider Zero One, which was released in 2019 around the time that Sword and Shield were released and development of Scarlet and Violet started.
Lokix's Pokédex entry has a picture of it performing a flying kick, which is the signature move of most Kamen Riders.
Its mechanical looking legs are a nod to the fact that the Showa era Kamen Riders were cyborgs, and its Dark typing is likely due to the Riders actually deriving their power from the same source as the evil organizations they oppose. The first two were even kidnapped and cybernetically modified directly by SHOCKER, a group of ecoterrorists trying to take over the world.
Its moveset is partially based on several classic Rider attacks, but ironically cannot learn Jump Kick or High Jump Kick.
Omg Arven you sweet summer child. Him holding the pokeball upside-down just makes me adore him even more.
Your acting like Arven is a 5 year old
Definitely on a watch list

The reasoning behind Gimmighoul holding a coin that looks like Bronzor is because Bronzor is an ancient coin Pokemon. The coin Gimmighoul holds doesn't look as ancient, but is still probably very old.
Bronzor is actually a mirror.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio there is no Pokedex entry stating it is a mirror, only that it reflects like one. Coins are shiny and reflective and often found as relics in most areas. There is also the fact that it keeps stating people polishing them. I've never heard of people polishing mirrors, but people polish coins all the time.
Paldea has three new dog Pokémon but it also has several older dogs as well. So many good boys
"Ayers Rock" (pronounced Airs Rock), is now known as Uluru, for future reference. This is it's indigenous name!
A region based on Australia would just be all the snake and spider pokemon, haha. Don't forget the drop bears!
Plenty of unique fauna, but especially snakes, spiders and drop bears! 😂
some of your spiders are supposedly friendly, aren't they? like that big one in that one grandfather clock picture i've had the displeasure of seeing. i'm a spider respecter because i live in the midwest, the capital city of the vicious american house centipede, and spiders snack on those long monstrosities. ...but i prefer to respect them from a very, very long distance.
i don't know what "drop bears" are, but i'm not as bold as my fellow americans, and thus am too scared to want to know.
The Bonzer Region, with Komala as its signature Pokémon.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio Maybe a Kangaskhan or two!
@@LukaLaurent Tsktsk. It'd be a REGIONAL Kangaskhan.
Cool video! Some of the secrets you shared really opened my eyes like how Sada/Turo actually did the gym challenge too.
Speaking of them I can’t help but share this even if it’s not so much a secret?
One of the journals in the research stations says :
Our time machine research has yielded a triumph-a Pokémon from the ancient past/distant future!
I've named it Koraidon/Miraidon.
I was expecting one new life to treasure, but what fortune to be blessed with this gift as well!
“One new life to treasure” is definitely Arven which is sweet that they think Arven is their treasure too.
Except then the other Parent abandons their spouse & child (Sada in Violet, Turo in Scarlet)...
Then the Parent in the MAIN timeline leaves Arven and Mabosstiff to femd for themselves while they continue their Research in the Area Zero...
And eventually the main Parent dies in AZ, and the Events of Scarlet/Violet play out...
@@gabriellockwood2780 the deceased professor still cared very much about arven, their work unfortunately consumed them to a point where they couldn’t balance both
@@edgytoucan3444
The opposite Parent Professor walked out in both Events; vs the Professor who stayed and ultimately dies.
Arven is essentially an Orphan, because we don't have ANY idea when the Professor died and the AI took over.
We know that they died protecting koraidon or miraidon in the 4th lab if i remember correctly. @@gabriellockwood2780
Also idk if this is good here but the DLC kinda reminds me of ScVi’s theme, past and future. The ancient legend of the Wukong Warrior and the futuristic theme of an under water technological civilization/school.
i love how scarlet and violet has so many cool secrets
The house in Zapapico reminds me of the house in Kanto that has the back to the field where you have to chase a Rocket member and the house in the Hoenn region that has a tunnel built into it as well!
I went into the Arven fight with so much confidence. I left it crushed and defeated. I was many levels above, but his Mabosstiff countered at least half my team. I still struggle with his team when I do the challenge too.
His Cloyster almost crushes my entire team each time. Guy's strong when he tries!
Bro I was underleveled but still whooping ass everywhere until I fought Arven. I thought it was a fluke but he beat me 3 times before I actually went and trained my Pokémon properly lmao
I lost twice because his Scovillain was taking out half my team until I pulled an Annhilape on him with Close Combat
Just a small note about the Squawkabilly section - rockabilly wasn't the first form of rock and roll as much as a fusion genre between rock n roll and country/western or "hillbilly" music. Granted, the line is usually blurred because its often all referred to as "classic rock'n'roll" or "oldies."
I was thinking the other day that maybe you battling Turo or Sada was meant to be a reference to the cut Professor Oak battle from Red and Blue. Probably not but it would be cool if it was.
Also Penny being from Galar makes a lot of sense because "Penny" doesn't sound Spanish, and it could also be a reference to the song "Penny Lane" by The Beatles. (Also realizing I maybe should've beat the games first before watching this video because I didn't know she was Team Star's leader...oops).
In England our coin currency are called pennies. If she was American she’d essentially be called Cent
@@havocbeast from the US here, we have a denomination of coin currently literally called a penny as well. I think it’s a carry over from the colonial origins
I think it's funny how we need to give Tandemaus a little privacy to do their thing. 😉 The kids don't know what's going on, but we older players do.
Brambleghast's cry is the first 'wah!' from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
Damn, I have ZERO idea how you noticed the swimming pool patterns lol that's nuts
Arven's name is pretty fitting in the game. First, the name mean is "Friend of the People" in english(he becomes a freind). But mainly the Japanese name in the game is "Peppermint" and Arven itself comes from "Mentha arvensis"(according to Bulbapeadia). Mentha meaning mint.
Mints are used in cooking, but there's more. The leaves have been made into tea to treat colds or aid digestion. The big thing that got me was that "the ancient Greeks rubbed mint on their arms, believing it would make them stronger."
So lets say Herba Mystica is just a super powerful verison of 'Mentha arvensis' and with Arven's cooking ability he can mix it with food. He would be giving his Maschiff "super food" to heal him.
Note: In real life, too much mint can cause heartburn and other problems. Do not eat a lot of mint lol.
Also the other 2 main characters are named after plants.
Penny is named after the 'tree peony' which comes in many colors, including red/blue.
Nemona is named after the 'Nemophila', which I don't see a connection to anything. It's also know as "Baby-Blue Eyes". Nemona has "Orange eyes and black hair(with a girl piece)"
Also Arvens name in the german version is Pepper.^^
While this can be viewed as more of a coincidence then an actual secret, but I have theorized that the Gym system in the Paldea Region was possibly based on the popular competition TV show franchise,The Amazing Race which happened to air the first half of it’s USA version’s 34th season’s second Mega leg in Spain where Paldea is based on just two days before the games released (and possibly as a call back to Sword and Sheild’s Pokémon league being a reality competition show).
6:45 Leon doesn't spin, he just does the pose, and if those games are after SwSh from a timeline perspective then it could be that Victor(or Gloria) are champion and do the spin and then the ex-champ did.
As a cool secret I can confirm that these are very cool
lel
Wow I found a cool secret
@@Omega.did.it0167 bro try using a social media that people actually know exists, and at least put it in the comment instead of in your username
I have a theory about Iron Treads, you know how it doesn’t look as much like Donphan as Great Tusk does? That’s because it’s not a paradox Donphan at all, but instead a paradox of a future evolution of Donphan, one that is still an animal, but evolved to be rounder and easier to roll. Another thing is that in the Titan battle, Great Tusk says “DONN PHAND” thus Donphan, but Iron Treads goes “WIIRRRR DONNN” which could indicate that it came from a different creature, I was thinking it’s name could be something like Whirldon or Donwhirl, to show off its superior rolling abilities( I know Iron Treads has the same cry as Donphan, but this is all speculation)
Imma believe that from now on you genius.
That amoongus one is fun considering the shiny you showed us was purple. Perhaps the rarity of a shiny one inspired the masterball's colour? yeah tenuous i know
An Australian region game would have to be PLA style. It’s the only way to really feel of the fear of actually living in Australia
Arven holding his pokeballs upside down is so funny!
loving the 3 dog reference. Thats brilliant
Another indicator that the three Lines are *designed as a Trio* is that they share a classic _Rock-Paper-Scissors_ style Weakness Triangle: Dark > Ghost > Fairy > Dark...
Some people theorize that Quacxly comes from Unova region. Once being ducklet
Even though all it's lore, references and looks are all based on South America, like Brazil.
I need to watch more facts and theories videos like this.
Pokémon Legends: Quaxly
I think the unused room might be related to the dlc in some way possibly
Zapapico is very close to the great crater, so maybe that has something to do with it.
It was so jarring when I saw that when you entered a store it just pulled up a list of items to buy instead if actually going in and walking around in it since I was so used to it
3:43 surprised lockstin missed that one
It’s cool that you got to add something unique to your video others missed
If you go to the store next to the community center in the teal mask dlc and look closely at the shelf with the different cartons of drinks and you swivel your right joy con to the left can find a dokutaro doll laying on a red pillow!
a few other Lokix Kamen Rider facts: The original Kamen Rider was experimented upon by evil scientists and was enhanced with grasshopper DNA. Lokix's dark typing might be a reference to Kamen Riders being created in some way by the villains they fight, the wild terra-type lokix, and reports that lokix spawns will increase with fighting-type sandwiches also feed into this idea that it starts out with evil power and then uses it for good.
The area zero theme has a reference to Rick and morty since it’s a western show and toby fox made the music
And it deals with a lot of sci-fi stuff it makes a lot of sense that they would sample the theme for a mysterious place like area zero
I’m the only one that’s found this though
I've been playing this game for so long, and some of these facts were still new to me...
so much fun to keep discovering things! Thanks for making this video 🙂
Thanks for watching!
16:11 OH MY GOODNESS HE MENTIONS KAMEN RIDER!!!!!
You Should've covered that the region is shaped like terapagos

If you wanna go even deeper with the connection between Squakabilly and Elvis, the rock n' roll genre of music originated in African-American communities, before being parroted by white musicians. Elvis was no exception, as many of his early songs were covers of songs by black artists
Great video! But one thing, it’s not called Ayer’s rock anymore it’s called Uluru
They say arven isn't good at battling whereas he was more challenging to me than that stalker nemona lol
RE: the theory about the origin of pokeballs. In PLA, Foongus and Amoongus are not in the Hisui region. Also, the old pokeballs were half apricorn and half tumblestone held together with some iron ingle and clasp, giving the classic half red half white design. If they are actually talking about Nishinomori's development of the modern pokeball, it's possible he liked those two mushrooms, but there was never any mention, only he figured it out how pokemon shrink with a Primeape. Classic scientific trope of doing experiments on monkeys...
Just a heads up, nobody has called it Ayers Rock since the 90s. It is known by its Indigenous name, Uluru (pron. Ooh-luh-roo)
Arven is apparently a good battler but his final battle is one of the toughest in game
Here's a thought. Sense professor sada or Turo have been sending pokeballs to the past via time machine. Could the brute bonnet evolve to have the pattern of the pokeball. Then over time foongus and amoongus always had the pattern of pokeball. Causing a paradox?
Well it said that the creator of the poke ball actually designed it off of Foongus, so in game, they didn’t get their design from the ball but in real life they obviously did
@@ThisAintGood. its still ends up as a paradox. Because the pokedex doesn't really says how foongus ended up with the pokeball pattern either. I'm not saying the person who invented the pokeball wasn't inspired by foongus. I'm just wondering how foongus ended up with the pokeball pattern in the first place.
@@dktrainer2145 My theory is that Brute Bonnet just had it for some reason and then it later evolved into Foongus who still carries it
@@ThisAintGood. could the master balls professor sade be sending to the past have something to do with that? And brute bonnet develop the pattern of the pokeball so it wouldn't be attack by it. Brute bonnet could have thought the master ball was a predator. So brute bonnet Camouflages itself to hide from the master ball
@@dktrainer2145 That’s a really cool thought
Another possible future region hint that I noticed comes from Iono, the Electric Gym Leader of Lavencia.
In her stream intros, she says: " 'ello 'ello, chiao and bonjour". That's 3 ways of saying Hello.
'ello 'ello sounds like a British accent, referring to Galar; bonjour is "hello" in French, referring to Kalos... (See where I'm going with this? 😏) Chiao is "hello/goodbye" in Italian!
Could this be a possible hint for a future region based on Italy? Or am I just grasping at straws and reading too much into something? 😅
Either way, Australia and/or Italy region(s) are both something I can certainly get excited for!
I LOVE THE DOG FACT!!
Hopefully Quaxly comes from a Brazil inspired region
As a Quaker parrot Owner I’m proud to say Pokémon has quakers in it.
Lokix's shiny form is also dirctly modeled after one of the more recent Kamen riders, i think it's Kamen rider Zero one if memory serves.
So there's your perfect nickname for a Shiny Lokix.
Lokix looks like a Beast Wars transformer to me lol.
4:43 The Good, the Bad, and the Purugly.
When I realized you could do the spin move it made me think about how you evolve Alcreamie like in sword and shield and low and behold we get dlc that shows Alcreamie as one of the returning pokemon
Maybe bronzer aren’t found in paldea is because they were melted into the first coin design
As to the final one for the Brute Bonnet, maybe the master ball is purple because it’s the ultimate poke ball and shiny brute bonnet/amoongus have the purple!
I'll be honest, this is the first video of like secrets of the game I watched that I didn't know majority of these. Most videos generally all say the same thing but this was different and I liked it
I would absolutely love to see some Aussie slang in the Pokémon franchise
All Aussies do
I don’t care what anyone says squakabilly is awesome and his Elvis motif is genius
Great info, thank you!
Some Cities have references to cities in Spain ex. Mesagoza is like Zaragoza and Levincia is Valencia
Once again amazing video dude, really enjoyed it!
This art at 8:00 hints at Australia. We have a part of a whole new (Japan themed) region for the teal mask dlc. And the isle of armor as well as the ruinous pokemon hint at China.
15:48 sorry, but is that not the evolution animation???
can vouch that mint is great
i love squackabilly because it have the colors of the brazillian flag✨♥✨
Good point! I didn't even think about that
Wow didn't notice that, that's a great point dude
You say intresting a lot loved it.❤
These were great. I love seeing your Pokémon theories, no matter how "out there" some can be.
I assume the going into houses thing was removed to focus on the open world
So you're telling me Leon's pose is region locked
Cool secrets!
If they do an Australian pokemon, and there is no Steve Irwin-esqu character, I'm gonna cry. He was like the real world professor of the region.
They might need to talk to the Irwin family to make sure it's okay to use his likeness but honestly I can't see them saying no considering if he's the professor he'd be learning and teaching about Pokémon like Steve did with animals 😊
Looking forward to the pokémon DLC and this one. Currently playing my backlog starting from the earliest generation I've got which is Omega Ruby going up to Scarlet and Violet. Almost finished lol I have captured all of them in let's go Pikachu/Evee, and Scarlet/Violet. Half way done with Y, Shield, and Pearl.
Every time I hear that fact about Foongus and Amoogus I can't help but think some pokemon see them as a traitor to Pokemon-kind just cause they inpired the humans on what they device should look like to catch them. 😆😂
Penny is also Peony's daughter 😅
These are excellent. Nice findings!
Did you know that you can spin in front of kirlia and they'll spin with you
SPOILER ALERT

Loved how they lock your pokeballs because they are not registered in The Proffessor's system so you have to actually select your ride Pokémon from the menu. It actually made me smile. Like a moment I knew was coming but had no idea how it would play out.
the way it clicked like a lightbulb when it got to that part. went into violet completely blind so i’d no idea you could even fight with miraidon
Ok, the modern pokeball looks like the Foongus and Amogus, but what about the old fashioned pokeball?
That intro, I legitimately believed for a second that freaking Ryan Reynolds would actually mention some Pokemon secrets with you. 😅
5:34 Okay but that still doesn’t explain what Elvis has to do with Spain, I just don’t get it
Oddly enough in the lab in area zero there is a picture of arven there
I found and caught 3 Shiny Iron Bundles without looking for them
I don’t think they’re nodding that Arven is a bad battler, it’s more like pointing out his insecurities and such. If you go to the school you’ll find a book called “hall of fame badges: a record” listing all the champion rank trainers, including arven
The Video talks about that very Book, and mentions that earning the Champion Rank is *not the only way to be added* to this List. I assume Arven and Penny made it onto this list by being among the group that _Saved the Paldea Region_ from the *Paradox Invasion,* as a more obscured Minor gesture, since they _can't be credited Publicly_ for their Heroism...
@@lianaverwood9810 is there anything in the game suggesting this?
@@FMOLETTE Not specifically for the Book, but you can find the Names inside the book _before you Rematch the Gym Leaders,_ which is practically *immediately after* returning from Area Zero. The Cutscene that *basically triggers the Flag* for the book has Director Clavell pointing out _about Arven's poor grades,_ so I doubt he got onto this list due to *Acedemic Prowess...*
The 2D games are just still great compared to the 3D games. It is not the nostalgia. Rather, it is the functionality and content they at least have, and they deserve 2D anime graphical remakes that are above Generation 5's level. I would have love to see the custom male and female character options, overworld Abilitiy functions, reusable TMs and limited TRs, rematches, arcade, farming, and battle frontier.
Loxik is basically a fusion of a bunch of different Kamen rider references. It's attack style, design, ability, even it's typing
If you think about it, gimmighoul could also be a reference to conquistadors hunts for gold in Central and South America. I mean, you’re literally on a treasure hunt in Spain with some elements of other Latin countries thrown in.
Another thing I noticed (could be wrong) abt the story line is every character has moved from the prior game's region. So does this mean you're a descendent of the original red/blue? Would make sense because red had a nomadic nature in the manga. Once one area was thoroughly explored or played through he would move onto the next.
That Devon guy did really love mushrooms.
I've been using mint for a couple of years I had no complaints until they switched to 5G now this phone doesn't allow me to use data at all it only works at home with the Wi-Fi but my birthday is this week and I'm getting a new phone
invasion and invasive are different themes lol. the rock and roll popularity isn't solely called the rock and roll invasion. lol
I saw hoop name in that book
Ayers Rock is pronounced 'Airs' Rock, but we refer to it as Uluru now.
Just like the dandelion pokemon hoppics
I love bramblin!
