Lore-by concept-was a Dark Souls thing. Instead of infodumping your ass for hours YOU have to find it through the game. Some people liked it, some people hated it. Then UA-camrs started making videos where they tell the story after hours of collecting bits and bobs of lore. Raora is the type that can have 3 hours of lore play as a video but can't be assed to collect said bits and bobs in the game herself. How absolutely unnatural and uncommon uh? It's truly not the same shit journos do for a living and then you buy and read your favourite daily paper, nay? 😂😂
It's fine to play games however you want, but not reading the dialogue in games is like going to the cinema and then sleep through half the movie and then saying "I didn't understand what happened in the movie".
One thing I don't like about games is reading the story through cards. The game starts to get boring if it happens all the time and has hundreds of pages 🙄
I'm reminded of my top favorite VTuber Axel Syrios, who also surprised me with how he has enough brain power to smoothly go through the Forest of Myth in NieR Replicant. Not even reading in Japanese is safe, especially considering one time when he cut short a stream of a crazy girl visual novel stream that turned out to be currently untranslated in English. As for how I still support him this much, one thing is how a human being doesn't need to worship even the ground their fellow human being walks on to appreciate them as a fellow human being. In other words, supporting others means letting others be themselves as much you have yourself be yourself, not being a yes-person to others. And on that note, while I have been a wiki walker and a fanwork-gatewayed fanboy for a bunch of media I'm not so familiar with first-hand, I dislike taking the source material and the first-hand experience for granted, as I like understanding how it appeals and/or doesn't appeal not only to myself but also to others. Helps me remember that the good things that art and entertainment bring us are impossible without actively healthy community. That's also why I don't see myself as much of a follower of a streamer if I usually watch them via clips.
That's what I do for ZZZ, there's so much text for basically nothing burger stories. Especially when compared to Genshin and Honkai, whose stories are so grand in comparison.
"I love this game so much that I don't want to know anything that's going on until a youtuber reads its wiki to me"
I feel attacked too lol
😅 I just feel validated though
"I enjoy the media in my way"
Well put.
based pink car
Uh, Idk, it's like reading a book on vertical. 😅

Genshin is infamous for having pages and pages of text for stuff that only needs 1 page though. We're never getting a text skip option
