"I was able to bring suppressed memories to the surface, deal with it as an adult, go back and forgive my mom and forgive myself. That was when real healing began. If you are holding a grudge against someone -- no matter how bad it was -- number one you have to forgive them, or else you will get eaten up. You aren't hurting anyone but yourself if you're not forgiving someone. Number two pray, and God will guide you on how to do that. That is where healing came, it was still a process and work. But then I was able to deal with committing to someone and not running. I no longer had the desire to use women anymore because I had dealt with that."

It takes a lot of courage to open up and share about the struggles and weaknesses we face in mortality, so thank you for being willing to do so Aaron. You have a beautiful testimony!

Thank you very much. I was sick after the interview from rehashing all of that but if it helps even one person then it’s worth it.

Amen!! I so appreciate people’s willingness to share and be vulnerable. It is such a selfless service to others who are suffering with the same or similar trials.

Aaron, this was so amazing. You came across as being so honest and open about your addiction. I felt the spirit as I listen to you, and I think you’re going to help many people, even more than you have in the past. Thank you very much.

I love this so much, Aaron. You aren’t alone in your experiences. I have much in my past I’m not proud of. This life is full of temptations and trials and every one of us has been weak at some point and gives in, making mistakes that we need to repent of. What a beautiful message of repentance and utilizing the precious, healing gift of Jesus Christ’s atonement. It’s much more meaningful to me after going through the repentance process and choosing to make changes in my life to get back on the covenant path. God loves us all, no matter our sins/addictions/weaknesses/pasts. And I know He wants every single soul back as a loving father does. Your conversion story at such a young age is just amazing! And your experiences with anxiety and depression hit so close to my heart as my family and myself struggle with those as well. I love that the Lord put that sister from your ward in your path to help you heal. I know God is real. And so is His power. He is so loving and forgiving and has given us our Savior to help us through any trial we face in this life. There is nothing He can’t do. He will bless us with our righteous desires in His timing if we have faith in Him. Some blessings won’t be actualized in this life but they will come. I’m so thankful for the love and forgiveness I have felt from our Heavenly Father as I have utilized the power of Christ’s atonement. I have also been blessed with added strength and ability through the atonement to stay on the covenant path. I feel upheld by His hand in my day to day life.

We are all prodigal son's and daughters, some sins just don't look like sins. I find it interesting the Pharisees were apparently so righteous on one hand that they would only walk so many steps on the Sabbath, but they were also so wicked that they could justify crucifying an innocent person - even The Son of God. And no other nation would've seen Christ's miracles and would not have repented after. I guess the sins of those that "appear Righteous" are even worse than some of the more obvious sins we point out.

Ashley, why didn't you mention Aaron's book? Also why didn't you let him read the poem he wrote?
