Definitely a controversy here. They are rude not because they want to be rude but because they want to be straightforward and possibly persuade interviewee to think about some issues. It's about interview styles, I don't think there is a norm or rule here that prevents journalists to be straightforward and rude. If they don't like to be asked about sensitive questions then maybe they should not accept interviews with these rude journalists in the first place.

Compared to the current extremely low quality western journalism it was very good. However the questions were sometimes too light, if not sounding somewhat naïve. it's because they're talking about the only thing Putin really cares about - Resource trade. In that room, they weren't Americans interviewing a Russian. They were propagandists interviewing a propagandist, giving him a platform to advertise himself and his country as a safe haven for fossil fuel giants. Natural gas and oil are what keep his oligarchical order. It's not like it's only Putin that benefits from this - The Financial Times get a story for their audience.
"This interview in an exception" Don't act like this is revolutionary. The propaganda is cruder than the oil it's trying to sell to the world.

Hi @@Ryanlexz I think it's not fair to say who need to go, this world does not belong to anybody. We are sharing this together and we should live with each other's differences peacefully, imo. Also, there is no perfect economic and political system to rule the world, democracy is not entirely terrible per se, of course it depends how one defines it. Blindly believing everyone should have the freedom to say or do everything does not make the world better even if it sounds AMAZING. Human beings are very COMPLEX, there is no doubt that we need rules and regulations to make ourselves behave while being able to voice out when things are not reasonable. I think it's just a balance of both capitalism and socialism. Spread love, not hate :)
On a side note, not sure if you have watched "Mr Robot", it does not spread positive vibes but it teaches us what a real reality is. (Please don't watch this if you are not feeling well as in having a mild depression or stg.)

      ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Автономная_сенсорная_ме..

since I wrote that original comment. Putin deserves all the rudeness one could get and some more. I was always actually quite anti-american but less so after the recent events (I'm not living in US nor Russia). At least in the US you don't actually risk 'accidentally' falling from the 10th floor if you go in the streets and shout "Down with Biden" :)) Freedom of speech isn't much of a thing until you loose it.

I don't believe he is lying, he is merely employing god-tier replying skills that both contribute to the topic and do not compromise his commitement to his affairs of state. As a student of interpersonal relations this video is worth more than the last 200 i watched in the last 2 years. What a pleasure to witness this.

If all other World leaders had similar qualities and would see the need for World Peace and Cooperation with one another to establish a platform where the weapon race could be considered is a stumble block in eating up all revenues paid by its citizen for it's own self destruction and using the money instead for the benefit and wealth for all citizen then the World would be in a much better place. All world leaders should be friends instead of enemies in the efforts of a "world-wide-Peace and Security" where all of mankind can be healthy and prosperous. Imagine, not having the need to work for the weapon race, where so much money has gone to; what that could mean? How many hours or even days per week are we now working to finance the weapons???
