- Girlschool have released their very 1st download, 'EMERGENCY' (25th Anniversary version) and 'LONDON' (2005 version), A donation of all proceeds from 'EMERGENCY' will go to the London Air Ambulance fund.
These girls are legends. They paved the way for future female artist. It is a shame they get no airplay.
Everyone commenting on this video must understand how pioneering Girlschool were. In the heady days of the mid eighties we had never seen anything like this. Finally an all women band footing it with the blokes on their own terms. Full respect!
Denise Dufort is such a great drummer. She should go out and jam and tour with other musicians to show how great she is.
You are mistaken. Infra Riot just did a cover of the song like Motorhead did. The song was written by Denise Dufort, Kelly Johnson, Kim McAuliffe and Enid Williams - the original members of Girlschool.
Can't help feeling they never got the full recognition they deserved. Their sheer technical playing ability and musicianship was streets ahead of most of their NWOBHM counterparts.
Sorry to hear of Kelly Johnson's passing. 6 year battle with cancer of the spine. RIP girl...
Saw them in Seattle in 1983. After all these years, I'm still in love with Kim.
I love Girlschool music from Hungary !!
This is an original - Girlschool wrote it and Motörhead covered it
This became quickly my favorite song! Gotta love Girlschool!
Saw them on Friday night in Dudley - fab!
Saw Girlschool at Bloodstock Open Air the other day.. they KICKED ass!!
I dont care if they're "as good as Motorhead" cos I love both of them.. Well, maybe I love Girlschool just a little bit more cos Im a girl guitarist so they're a huge influence to me :)
best female band of all time omg id die to play guitar like that \m/ girlschool hailz
Boy what a band ! What a song !!
One word : brilliant !
I grew up with this music...they re still rockin...love it
They are tooo good!!! I love them.Annette 44 years old from Sweden.
Love at first sight!
Seeing them tonight with Motorhead, The Damned and Straight Lines at hammersmith apollo =D
Ganna be goooooood. =]
@petriofsweden I totally agree!! The Bass sounds AWESOME and is usually the first thing to get lost in a live mix!
I saw these girls in the 80s with the Scorpions...they put on an excellent show
I remember going to see these at canterbury in may 1981...
still love them......they rock!!!!!!!!!!
Super !!
wow this is the first time i have ever seen girl school they kick ass
Fantastic, go on Jacks on lead. Great playing and sound. Lots of energy, cracking stuff. Take care n'that, Stokesy from Heywood.
wow. just.. wow..
Awesome.. I saw Girlschool at The Standard in London about 23-24 years ago.. lol Now I feel old...
Great band. I listened to these girls way back in the 80s, the best decade ever. It soothes my soul to see them still doing great things in the music world where crap seems to rule. That new Blonde guitarist is way sexy and talented dont you think?
i like .....i LOVE both versions!!!
so good
good! i just love this song!
this ban has been my favourite about 20 years.. the'se girls ROCK!!!
yeah i saw them yesterday in nottingham amazing
Holy Crap! This is an amazing version. The guitarist gives Fast Eddie a run for his money in the solo, and Girlschool's playing/signing has only gotten heavier, tighter, and yet more melodic with time!
At first I was like "Haha, he's probably sure" and then, when I saw the drummer I was like "Oh sh*t :O"
These chicks rock!
great song and great band. Long live Girrlschool
@NickyKFS indeed, she's one of my favourite drummers!! she's great and beautiful too!
gotta love these girls, they fucking rock. how could this get any dislikes ?
That is so awesome.
God i love her voice!!
Awesome
pure punkrock, my band (the Guv'nors) played with them in our hometown some 10 years ago. brilliant & fantasic women :)
You go girls!!
I like how this song starts!
Loved Girlschool when Gil was in the band, although I saw them a couple of times before then as well.
Saw them twice in Seattle in 1983. Gil was on bass... If they don't come to US in 2010, then I'm heading to England...I've waited long enopugh.
im going to that show on Friday, in Leeds =D
Supporting a good cause too - go girls!
Nice heavy dose of bass.
Awesome.
Girlschool Rock! I'm so glad Enid's back!!!
perfection!

I got an emergency and only Girl school can fix it!!! ROCK ON GIRLS

RIP Kel. Sadly you had to go on my b-day!
DEN!!! my inspiration!
Wow It´s really good!
Really woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
She's a beast at that, they supported Motorhead (surpsingly) at Bradford UK and let me tell you I still wasn't convinced...
hell, yeah!
Sounds pretty much like straight Punk/Metal to me, which is what Motorhead is.
YES! Girlschool ftw!
Kelly actually used to live with Jackie and showed her how to play most of the songs.
Searing Video!
I wish they would come to North Carolina!
Completely, notoriously BADASS!!!
You know what Girlschool should do? They should come out with an album that COMPLETELY blows everyone else out of the water. New fresh stuff. No song remakes.
It is just epic °.°
Kelly Johnson, the original lead guitarist of GS in years 1978-1984 and 1993-1999 IS, unfortunately, dead. RIP
Jackie Chambers - CURRENT lead guitarist of GS and the one you can see in this video - is, fortunately, alive :) cheers
Can't think straight, can't decide
'Cause time's running out and there's nowhere to hide
Where to run, what to do
Better watch out, cause they're coming for you
@Derby14 Well, this was one of my favorite numbers on that album. And still is.
EPIC

Motörhead/Girlschool: St. Valentines Day Massacre E.P.
You propably got it on "No Remorse"
Was a mix of MH/GS (with Taylor on backup mike (think he had his arm broken)), so not a real MH cover.
