It's a real shame that when they decided to refurbish the M100 trains, they made the orange walls into white walls, to match the color scheme of the M200 and M300 trains. The M100's lost a lot of personality in my opinion because of how the walls are now all white. The seats are still orange though.
Their acceleration and deaccelration sound is similar to that of the Class 323 EMU's here in the UK (used by West Midlands Trains and Northern Railways)

The eastern subway stations are a bit rougher looking, definitely. The underground stations especially in the western half are much, much nicer and these m100 trains have been renovated as need be, although two new generations also exist making up most of the traffic.
Finland wasn’t rich in the 70’s when the subway was conceived. We were considered a developing country back then. Only during the 90’s when Nokia was succesfull did Finland’s GDP rise significantly

The BN sneltrams in Amsterdam from 1990 also sound very similar
