Man, that hike is brutal though. IT JUST. KEEPS. GOING. UP. Every time you complete half of the length, you've only completed 1/4 of the height. HOW? 10/10 would hike again (I'd bring more water though)
I am 66 years old and an avid hiker sometimes hiking up to 10 miles but will have to live vicariously through you on hikes like this! So cool you can share your hiking adventures with us!
Dude gets a message from Henry Golding to go hike together Me: *internal screaming* So awesome you guys did this, it’s quite an amazing journey. My friend, my husband, and I just hiked the whole thing from the JM trailhead last Wednesday. I was so scared looking at the angle of the dome, I honestly wasn’t sure if I had it in me, but once I got a good feel for how grippy the cables and the rock face were, I was off and all my body wanted to do was climb. It was an exhilarating feeling, so much so I didn’t stand on that ledge everyone takes photos on because I was both high and delirious from the long day. We started before first light and ended with night sky blanketing us. It was an experience I’ll never forget.
Hiked Half Dome 5 times between 1966 & 1987. Way before reservations & permits were required. Just show up, but that was another time. Always started in Happy Isles at 6 am & was back by 6pm. Now I just drive up to Glaicer Point & look over at the magnificent views. First time I have seen the cables with no one one them. You guys picked the perfect time. Looking forward to your trek through the Dolomites.
I just hit 40 and hiking has become my "mid life crisis thing" and your channel has become inspirational to me. I hope to be doing at least *some* of the hikes you've made before I hit 50.
What is life without brotherhood?! It is neither the journey nor the destination but the company that makes it all memorable! ❤ To all my hiking brothers out there; breathe, walk and laugh together; our time here is limited!
I thought he was one of your good friends of many years cos you both seemed like best buddies already LOL Glad you had fun and he seems like a cool guy.
Did a double take when I saw the title, but my brain didn’t believe it until the first shot. I didn’t catch your clue from the preceding video. Can’t lie, it’s hard to focus on the scenery when Henry Golding is in view. Lol. Very cool. 😎 Your ideas moving forward sound terrific. I love all things autumn. 🍁🍂
Thank you for the consistently great content Kraig! Your videos inspire me to slow down and appreciate life and the beauty of the world. I've noticed that in some of your videos, like this, you celebrate/show other people collectively enjoying things which is something that the outdoor/hiking community could embrace more. Exclusivity/Gatekeeping is overrated! Thank you from Denver!
Thumbs up to the 'shoot more of the logistics' idea. I always appreciate some pre/post hike stuff. Like the packing, trailhead prep, or whatever. Good idea!
Half Dome is an amazing adventure and a life changing experience. For two years I went in the lottery and not excepted, I got a 3 day pass into Yosemite and hiked to Half Dome. Within 10 minutes at the top I met a group who had a spare ticket and then climbed the Dome and beat day of my life. Don’t wait for lottery if you really want to do this😊
I think its crazy to consider that I started watching you for your camera tips back in the WFS days and now your channel is blowing up on completely different content and I'm so here for it. Thank you for taking me outside with you.
Kraig I have been watching all your videos from the beginning and finally found the courage to start publishing my own videos. You are inspiration! Never stop. Thank you!♥
Fun! I didn't even realize who Henry Golding was until the end, I thought he was some other outdoorsy youtube person. Wow, Kraig is taller than I imagined. At 13:00 there's a picture of both of them and Kraig appears to be noticeably taller. (Although it's a little hard to tell for sure.) And IMDB lists Henry Golding as 6'1.
What a super rad collab!!! Being from Southern Cali I find it so cool that you mentioned Mt Baldy, I hope you get to reconnect with Henry and do more local hikes in LA. We have Mt Baldy, San Jacinto and San Gorgonio. Maybe even throw in a group/fan hike. I’d totally sign up. Congrats on summitting Half Dome. Hope you do another Sierra peak. Also, I am looking forward for the Kraig sun hoodie. Happy Trails.
I hope this causes more Big names to reach out and hike with you! I think that would be an interesting way to see a more personal side of them. Ways Interviews never could.
the mountains there just seem so insane and although its hard to really understand how massive they are, these videos give the landscape such personality and weight. would love to go hiking in the US some day, theyve got such incredible landscapes that aren't really shown and we dont get down here. keep up the great videos!
I've just subscribed after watching this video and your comments afterwards, good fun and informative, thanks. I'm an oldtimer Englishman who has travelled extensively throughout the Four Corners area since 1989. No longer able to venture so far now, look forward to following your adventures.
@@desb3459 yes. You can either do it when the cables are down (no permit required, different challenge obviously), apply online in March and get a day (what we did), or show up to the rangers office early during the season for a next day walk up permit (limited number).
You should do the half dome clouds rest loop from sunrise lakes trailhead, 2 nights. And try to do half dome by about 10 am, the light is way better in the morning for looking down into the valley and it's not busy then either. I've done it at sunset as well and it tends to be really washed out looking down at the valley. Also the best views of Half Dome are from Clouds rest. enjoy!
Just discovered your channel (and I think a Bud has now also subscribed) love the production values of your work. Your videos are awesome, never in the way of the visuals, keeping the dialogue to the end.
It’s amazing how nature heals itself after those wildfires. Once again spectacular hike. One of my dream hikes - looking at El Capitan and Half Dome ❤❤❤ warms my heart. You need to start a business on hiking 🥾 with you. I sign up
That was so cool! Huge fan of Henry Golding!!!! it's amazing that he reached out like wow! That hike is on my bucketlist for SURE. Never figured out the permitting..i thought you had to enter a lottery for it now? also DID THE BLACK AT WITH THE ORANGE CIRCLE NOT MAKE IT?? D: edit: i found it, it was on the shelf
I was surprised by the sketchiness of this hike and I’ve done a lot of backpacking in the Sierras. Went up the cables early morning and we were the only people on them.
Man, sad to hear you left Colorado, if you’re ever looking to return to do some of the Most Beautiful mountains in the country, on very thrilling routes, I’ll take you into the San Juans and, if you survive you’ll thank me!
Great video... You can't just get in a hammock and not swing. I love your videos because they start out with you around a bunch of people and the further you get the less people are around. We're lucky to have some areas like that here in the Shawnee National Forest even if we're so small. Great video - great hike!
Hi Craig. I love your videos. I'm an Adirondack hiker (46er #3232) which prompts this comment. You said you'd like to do an Adirondack hike, possibly in November, to see some fall color. November will be too late. The fall color window is from late September to mid-October. The usual peak is the 1st week of October. By November you will see bare trees. The color change has already begun (Sept. 7) in the Northern part of the park. Also, the trails are wetter than usual because of all the rain we have had this year. Have a great hike.
Great video Henry - a friend suggested your channel to me and I'm loving it! Going to the PNW in the next 2 weeks and I'm excited to hike there :) Thanks!
On the first question regarding Mt.Fuji in Japan- you’re correct. I grew up at the base of the mountain and I can tell you that the experience of climbing it isn’t that great especially for someone like yourself who has been on all these adventures. The route is way too crowded. I highly recommend you to explore different hiking routes in Japan😊
I saw the title and thought y’all hiked up to glacier point because I did that last year when there was no road and met quite a lot of people fishing off at half dome
This is the first video I’ve seen of this channel and holly crap the shots and angels are absolutely gorgeous!
holly crap!
omg this is why I love Henry Golding even more.
Henry golding seems like such a humble and down to earth guy. Would’ve loved to join that hike.
Man, that hike is brutal though. IT JUST. KEEPS. GOING. UP. Every time you complete half of the length, you've only completed 1/4 of the height. HOW? 10/10 would hike again (I'd bring more water though)
You are one of the few hiking UA-camrs that I actually enjoy. You just seem so much more calm and ‘wellkept’
How cool is Henry Golding. And also Kraig for taking him. Pretty much complete strangers and yet, there they go. So awesome!
I am 66 years old and an avid hiker sometimes hiking up to 10 miles but will have to live vicariously through you on hikes like this! So cool you can share your hiking adventures with us!
I share your vicarious dreams too. Too injured for hiking 🥾 but half dome is one of those place I would love to conquer
Viewers: here comes Kraig and aerial opening drone shots
Kraig: half dome with a movie star!
I'm sure he would have loved to use his drone but they're banned in Yosemite.
The shots that you capture really seem to have deep purpose. This whole video is an extra special work of art, even for your channel.
Dude gets a message from Henry Golding to go hike together

I couldn't think of who Henry was off the top of my head so I Googled him, and remembered. Wow, that's huge. Very cool!
Worked/lived in YNP, they were called tourons... many folks tried to pet wild animals. Nuts!
I just hit 40 and hiking has become my "mid life crisis thing" and your channel has become inspirational to me. I hope to be doing at least *some* of the hikes you've made before I hit 50.

Man, Henry seems like such a chill guy. I hope you get to backpack/hike with more celebrities who truly enjoy the outdoors.

Can’t lie, it’s hard to focus on the scenery when Henry Golding is in view. Lol. Very cool. 😎 Your ideas moving forward sound terrific. I love all things autumn. 🍁🍂
Loved Henry in The Gentlemen, so it was beyond cool to see him in a Kraig Adams video, he seems like a grounded all-round good dude.

A friend and I camped on the top back in the 80’s!! Never can happen these days 😊

Thanks for the brilliant collab & video, enjoy every bit!
I think its crazy to consider that I started watching you for your camera tips back in the WFS days and now your channel is blowing up on completely different content and I'm so here for it. Thank you for taking me outside with you.
Unexpected collab, very cool!
bro such as good actor so he just walks forward to put the camera and then came back like he never did and have some words with his mate :D
How cool to do that hike together! He seems like a genuine and fun guy.
So no one recognized Henry Golding? Another awesome and very informative video. Thank you. I hope to do half dome one of these days.
Honestly you two had great chemistry. I didn’t realize who he was until you brought it up. You two seem like long time friends!
Very surprising collaboration Kraig!
Gotta get my popcorn first! Cant wait!!
I hope you put together another compilation video again. I love playing it in the background over and over. So relaxing, especially when I’m drawing.
my old hood! I miss Yosemite. Thanks for sharing.
Kraig I have been watching all your videos from the beginning and finally found the courage to start publishing my own videos. You are inspiration! Never stop. Thank you!♥
Need more Henry!
I remember hiking this trail for my 30th birthday 2 years ago. I can't wait to come back in the future.
Wow all these shots and I say, Kraig you are a BEAST! Really put in those extra steps
Fun! I didn't even realize who Henry Golding was until the end, I thought he was some other outdoorsy youtube person. Wow, Kraig is taller than I imagined. It is a beautiful hiking. The scenery is good🍀🍀💟
Little Yosemite is a wonderful little campground. Highly recommend camping there and doing half dome from there
What a super rad collab!!! Being from Southern Cali I find it so cool that you mentioned Mt Baldy, I hope you get to reconnect with Henry and do more local hikes in LA. Lighthearted little tour. I really enjoyed it. Also the Q&A at the end 🙂
Best hiker on UA-cam
Half Dome!!! Another RAD vid! Thank you! I’m DEF buying the Kraig Sun Hoodie!!!
I hope this causes more Big names to reach out and hike with you! I think that would be an interesting way to see a more personal side of them. Ways Interviews never could.
Great video. Looks like you guys had fun. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoyed this video with Henry! Nice to share your adventure.
Just have to say thank you for sharing , brings back a lot of memories for me. I can't hike any more due to injuries.... ❤❤❤❤❤
Beautifully captured and presented. Cheers!
Loved this! Thanks Kraig and Henry!
Glad to see those Darn Toughs worked out for you! I love them.
My husband and I were just in Yosemite this past weekend. So gorgeous! I love your videos!
the mountains there just seem so insane and although its hard to really understand how massive they are, these videos give the landscape such personality and weight. would love to go hiking in the US some day, theyve got such incredible landscapes that aren't really shown and we dont get down here. keep up the great videos!
Really different vibe in this video and it worked, guest stars are a great idea and a revisit too !
What a fun video! Can't wait for the next Kraig and Henry adventure! 🙌🏼

just found your video and instantly love it! cant believe i lived in the bay area and never went to yosemite. that was an oppotunity missed. one day!
I just did this hike 2 days ago, and it was a blast. Awesome stuff again Kraig.
Am I right in saying it is based on a lottery system? Hoping to do it next year!
@@desb3459 yes. You can either do it when the cables are down (no permit required, different challenge obviously), apply online in March and get a day (what we did), or show up to the rangers office early during the season for a next day walk up permit (limited number).
@@julion.8709 when you say the cables are down, I'm guessing that's not exactly legit is it? When you apply in March are you guaranteed to get it
You guys make Half Dome look easy! What a fun hike! Yosemite is gorgeous. Thanks for taking us along! ❤

Always awesome. Appreciate your hard work with all your videos. Really enjoyed this. Thank you!
Watching kraig videos , mental health 📈
Just discovered your channel (and I think a Bud has now also subscribed) love the production values of your work. Your videos are awesome, never in the way of the visuals, keeping the dialogue to the end.
Although I enjoy your solo trail videos more, the change was nice. The advice on post production of the works is also appreciated...
So breathtaking as always.
I’ve enjoyed the life updates after the trip. Keep it up!
Love your videos! Always inspires me to go outdoors more.
Hey there! To all that are seeing this. HAVE A BLESSED DAY ! ❤️❤️
Que lugar tan bonito y fantastico. Es un entorno en la naturaleza precioso. Gran tabajo 🙋♂️👍
This hike has been on my to do list for way too long… got to make it happen. Thank you for letting us enjoy it with you.
Great idea! Would love to hear about trip logistics and the in-between stuff in future vids!
It’s amazing how nature heals itself after those wildfires. Once again spectacular hike. One of my dream hikes - looking at El Capitan and Half Dome ❤❤❤ warms my heart. You need to start a business on hiking 🥾 with you. I sign up
Another awesome video, would love to see more adventures with Sasha along your side 👍🐶🐶
Never expected something as insane as this
Look at these Crazy Rich Hikers! Love this unexpected collab. And great video, man! Hopefully I'll join you in another one :)
I hope you release a book one day (unless you already have) of your adventures. Would make for some cool reading and imagery. Another great video.
This is filmed so beautifully!
I hope to see you do a hike with Henry to the peak of Mount Kinabalu in Borneo.
That was so cool! Huge fan of Henry Golding!!!! it's amazing that he reached out like wow!

Hi guys, am i the only one who taught Kraig did the next lvl montage with cloning himself at 7:50 ? I LOVE THE CONTENT !!!!
Would love the additional content that elaborates on everything that's put into making these hikes happen.
To me the best time in the Eastern Sierra is late Aug to early Oct. just have winter gears as the temp goes down low at night and ear mornings.
That view and camera work is awesome @6:08
Kraig your videos are amazing! Keep up great work!
you should hike the tallest mountain in south east asia, Mt Kinabalu...and bring henry back..he is from borneo...
Genial el vídeo como siempre!!!
