    I think Eminem was cursed in his life. Look at everything, he was born in poverty, had no mainstream luck whatsoever, and was so stressed out from recording 4 albums at a time he developed an addiction. None of that was his fault and yet he had to pay for it. One thing that wasn't mentioned in the video was how he got in a very heated feud with the source magazine and from that day forward never got a good rating.

    Relapse was hated by the masses (including me) when it dropped back then, but over time it’s become a huge cult classic among Em fans. It’s my favourite Em album now and imo a horrorcore masterpiece. It’s tragic that Em hates it.

      It’s sad to me how much the “new Em sucks” narrative has clouded people’s judgement to the point all his new stuff gets lumped in. This video puts Kamikaze & MTBMB in the same categories as his flops like Revival even though they’ve been commercially successful and very well received by fans. This Tofu guy obviously hasn’t listened to any of his stuff for awhile.

      @@dman1417 facts and tbh I don’t think revival is all that bad. River and Castle especially are bangers in my book although I know most people just dislike that album as a whole.

      Finally someone said the truth, his stuff magical dope. this people hate it because is classical people lifestyle, then when years finally pass there will say oh my God that album was dope, maybe when he dead there will say his was A God now to them his trash all I will said is the album are good and a classic and his lyricism and new rap style is beyond average brain 🧠

    I think Eminem’s absolute prime in terms of lyrical ability and pure rapping ability was actually between the years 2009-2017. The verses he was putting out were absolutely ridiculous. Yes he did shift to a style with more poppy sounding hooks and beats, and you either like it or you don’t. But in terms of pure skill and ability you can tell Eminem was at his best during the years between relapse and Revival.

    • @teal2913
      @teal2913 4 місяці тому +3

      Also his delivery was more aggressive and powerful than ever mainly between 2010-2015. I really enjoy the aggressive loud yelling delivery Eminem has in Recovery and Bad meets evil.

      @@dande9238 All you have to do is listen to his freestyles during that time period and compare it to his freestyles from back in the day during his first 3 albums. Rhyme schemes and punch lines on another level, paired with a faster flow that switches up all the time. From a technical standpoint Eminem clearly became more skilled at rapping. Again, this has nothing to do with the sound of the music or the topic that he’s rapping about. I understand that he had more story telling deep songs like Stan in the past. But from a technical standpoint he clearly got better.

      @@teal2913I feel like he hasn’t had a dope freestyle since like the shady 2.0 cypher. Ever since then he wanted to rap with out beats and idk I just wasn’t feelin it. The shady xv cypher was decent but woulda been way better with a beat cause at the end of the day it’s music. I get the battle rap scene doesn’t use beats but he not battling nobody

      Facts. I don't get how ppl can say he "fell off", it's comical. He gets better with time. Which makes sense when it comes to technical rhyming. Athletes go past their prime with age, physically they start to decline mid age. And I think ppl equate this with Eminem lol. If he keeps working on the craft with age, he's gonna keep pushing his own limits. Atleast until hes like 75 or so lol 😂

    • @dman1417
      @dman1417 4 місяці тому

      @@dish.washersThe “Eminem fell off” narrative is such clownery. He might not be as visible in the mainstream anymore or have a social media presence like many rappers but he’s still making huge waves in music and his legacy is stronger than ever. He just broke 70 million monthly Spotify listeners and was literally the #2 streamed rapper in 2023 behind Drake who put out like 4 albums, he’s the top viewed rapper on UA-cam every single month for like the past 2 years straight (even more views than “king of UA-cam” NBA YoungBoy), his recent albums like MTBMB are among the top selling albums of the year, and if you look at the lists of the most listened to rap songs his classic hits from 20+ years ago usually take up 4 or 5 slots of the top 10. Not to mention all the career highs he’s had recently like a Super Bowl performance and induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. If that’s what falling off looks like to these people then damn, I’d love to see their success.

    Dr. Dre executive produced Recovery as well, producing one track "So Bad" and another "Ridaz" which is on the deluxe edition. Dre's been associated with every Eminem album as an exe prod with the exception of Infinite of course. Yeah post Recovery everyone seems to have fallen of the Eminem train because he often goes for that pop rap sound trying to replicate the big chart successes of LTWYL and Monster and not making what should be right for him or what his fans want from him.
    He tries too hard to stay relevant rather than making a cohesive well put together album, it shows in all his recent music.

    I find it funny how Eminem made a whole album to diss the people who didn’t like revival but for some reason when people didn’t like relapse he just listened to them and completely changed his sound for the worst

    • @teal2913
      @teal2913 4 місяці тому +4

      Because he himself ended up personally disliking relapse too, he said he went back and listened to it a couple years later and was shocked at the amount of accents he was using. He changed after relapse because he genuinely didn’t enjoy that style anymore. He didn’t change after revival because he actually thought it was a good album.
